The Hamden roar was 1st called by a poor man who was dying of cancer in the Victoria hospital '(approx 3/4 of a Km away).Scotland scored and the man heard the roar from his hospital bed (true).. Then again the crowd was something like 130,000 which was a usual crowd then. im only 2 Km from Hampden and still to this day we can hear the noise from the crowd.Definitely the best i the world & until the Maracana was built in 1949-1950 Hampden held all the World records for crowds.Twice there was 149,000 against England but people who were there said there was easily 180,000 to 200,000 .Not bad for a small country and a small city (compared to Mexico city and Tokyo etc who had 6 times the population of Scotland)...I love my country and i have been to a 122,000 crowd in 1973.It was incredible.......
You take the high road and ill take the low road and ill be in scotland befooooreee yeeee! For me and my true love will never meet again, on the bonny bonny banks of Loch Looooomond! LOVE IT!
