When mario goes down, he is like "invincible". That's for killing enemies. For some weird reason, it works with fire bars too, but without killing it. And the bowser one, is because he killed very close to him with the fire flower.
I have saw other TASes doing devil’s spell (clipping in an upside down pipe also in 8-1. Why isn’t it done here? Is it because the loading information is different when you come in from 5-2 warp zone rather than 7-4? I was confused.
From Mariowiki.com: "In the original version of the game, the game stops for a short time after completing this level and before World 5-1 starting. This is due to the fact that the data for Worlds 1 through 4 and Worlds 5 through 8 are stored separately in the game's memory, and the game unloads the data for up to World 4 and loads the data for World 5 onward during the brief stop." [www.mariowiki.com/World_4-4_(Super_Mario_Bros.:_The_Lost_Levels)#Trivia]
How much faster is the fire flower in this game category compared to not grabbing it. I might revive fire flower strats for VS Super Mario Bros, where worlds 6, 7, and 8 must be fully done, since world 6 is the furthest warp. Also, 4-3 in this game is almost exactly the same as 6-3 in VS SMB. Same thing with the ending.
The next level in SMB can only be loaded every 21 frames, meaning that even if you are a few frames late in a level, if you get to the end within the same 21 frame time window, the ending time doesn't change. This also means that, with the exception of the last level (because there's no "next level" after that to load, so you don't have to worry about it), any improvements will have to be of 21-frame increments.
A framerule is a group of 21 frames (0.35s). Imagine the flagpole at the end of every level is a bus stop. A new bus picks up everyone at the bus stop every 21 frames. So if the level saves a couple frames (or loses some) and it isn't enough to hit the treshold of 21 frames, the levels will leave on the exact same pace.
Bobby Tornabene you use a program that lets you go frame by frame to do perfect inputs in a game that are likely not possible for humans, to see the fastest theoretical time currently known.
in the world fourth stage of each world, he is hit by the rotating fire lines, but does not die or shrink? what trickery is this? is this chuck jones playing the game?
Ne nmms el video es mentira en muchas partes se ve claramente en el castillo de bowser donde le dan los aros de fuego te debió ver hecho pequeño,aparte es imposible como mataste a bowser de una sola bola de fuego😒
Hitboxes. The mario's image is bigger than its hitbox. Because this is tool assisted, you can decide until the very last pixel to jump in order to save time. It looks fake, but trust me, it isn't.
that's not how it works. the motion of the firebar is very rigid, so with extremely precise movement, you can move through the firebar by being at the very edge of the firebar right before it transitions to the next part of the animation, making it so at no point is there a frame where mario is in the hitbox of the firebar.
That's an inaccurate representation of frames saved, since you were clearly behind the old TAS in a couple levels but didn't incorporate the list frames
tool assisted speedruns aren't cheating. they would only be cheating if the TASer would say the runs were not TASes and if they would try to claim it was done in real time.
