Memory corruption to skip to the final boss after getting power bombs has been around for several years. This TAS doesn't do it

​@@ryco9669 Yeah thanks. I checked and it was apparently 4 years old. Why isn't there a tasvideos TAS about it? Weird. I saw the Memory Corruption TAS on Reseren's youtube too... and that's been a while.

@@malcovich_games they mentioned in the discussion thread for this TAS that because it doesn't start from power on with a clean save that they'd have to redo a ton. Eventually may record it but it's not quite as interesting to them

Sequence breaking in Metroid Fusion has been around for years through memory corruption. It just doesn't make for an interesting TAS.

Never had any issue with how linear the game is, it did everything so well that I never even thought about it while playing, I was too afraid of SA-X.

I mean...last time she sequence broke, all of reality fell apart (Super Metroid)

@@Practicalinvestments yes, I have it here for my SNES. I like linear games, the fact Backtracking and more than 35 exits on the same screen, I get discouraged 😅

@@fallinho fair enough lol I tend to like games that just let me go in and figure it out I felt more accomplished beating super metroid. Fusion just wasnt as satisfying for me

I don't know about that. The game has its share of navigation puzzles, and i really like what it was doing with the story. It's more linear, yes, but it uses that to build suspense and atmosphere unlike any other games in the series. It pulled off everything it was going for very well.

@@DestroyerOfAglets It's definitely the scariest game in the series, and cool in its own right, but the ultra-linear stuff is still jarring compared to, say, Super Metroid's ridiculous sequence breaks.

This game is not as good as the previous ones, mostly because the creator died before this came out and the new team introduced a lot of cringy shit. While the new elements introduced into the game are decent, most of it was ruined by the completely unnecessary plot dialogue that was badly written. Also the previous games rewarded you for exploring and finding secrets, this game however hides most of the extra stuff towards the very end of the game so you can't be overpowered when playing through it. IMO this was a stupid STUPID design flaw and is one of the main reasons why I didn't play this more than twice. Despite the glaring problems mentioned above, it's an OK game at best.

No idea what the main comment is talking about and I’m sad that 5 people actually agree with it. This is one of the best Metroid games out there. The suspense build up in this game makes it extremely atmospheric. People still talk about being scared for their life when the SA-X appeared lol.

This game uses the linearity to build an extremely immersive atmosphere. Whereas Super Metroid is just you aimlessly running around.

The game is literally the only game to pull off reducing features WELL and you bitch and whine about it.
