really makes a game feel longer when they make you race every track a minimum of 3 times.

This was my childhood. And I am sitting in awe of just how quickly you can fly through it.

I never knew that the wheels on the karts were sprites until seeing how aliased they were in this video. That's impressive to be sure, how solid they look from every angle.

Something that doesn't get talked about is how great the font of this game is.

Still amazing to remember that this was both Banjo's and Conker's first game before they got their own spin-offs (and Banjo, with Kazooie, would get invited to Smash as well) And DKR is such a good game, got a ton of nostalgia with this one Hopefully a newer TAS will happen that demonstrates and optimizes a lot of the glitches though, I know this TAS is super old (2007) and a lot has changed since then - the game's still huge in the speedrun community to this day

What the hell I NEVER noticed the shortcut on the first boss fight and I’ve beat this game several times. Mind blown

Shame Taj isn’t playable in the original game, he is such a jolly character and it would have been cool to ride on a carpet. This game is amazing as it is though!

Is anyone working on an updated TAS with all the modern strats? It’s kind of funny watching a TAS that’s over 14 minutes slower than the current WR.

This game still feels unfinished.. like, for example, take Spaceport Alpha.. to the right, next ro the finish line, there's an open space which is a perfect hiding spot for a key, or some sort of collectible, and also right at the end after beating wizpig a second time, there's an end-credits scene that cuts off before the game restarts on its own..

This game is from 1997. I know I played it as a kid. But today was the first time ever I saw that shortcut in the 1st world Boss Fight...

Wow, after all these years I never knew about the short-cut with the dinosaur boss race. 8:55 I used to struggle with the race because I kept drifting off the edge near the finish line.

fun fact: one of the characters from this game is a squirrel from an 18+ only game Conkers bad fur day. :) Yes an M rated character is in this fun loving kid racing game.

The games of the past was a graphic miss but the gameplay was so funny and you played a long time to complete games of this age I miss that time i played self my brain out of head and my eyes to a format 4:3

31:57 funny story.. i played this game when i was 8yo, circa '97, i did not read this part or if i did, i did not know the name of those darned boosters that were on the floor or water or air at strategic points in every race.. and because of that it took me forever to beat the wizpig until i accidentally performed that trick while racing the wizpig 😅
