This game gives me such great memories, I beat bowser for the first time on New Year’s Eve, I lost my first tooth playing this game, I remember 100% it with my mom
Tbh these were pretty disapointing auto scroller...But i guess its because u cant clip stuff like u can in most mario games to make auto scrolllers super cool to look at and anyway i couldnt do that so i shouldnt complain
Yeah, I see that. Look back at the moment, he barely grabbed the 2 blue coin & considering the fact he was below the blue coin & past the point where he would’ve collected it. I mean, you’re technically not wrong as it was time that ran out that made it disappear. I’m just going in more detail.
“he” is actually a robot stolen from the cia and forced to play video games against his will but the robot was made by a guy named TAS and this is footage of him playing
This is honestly how I played this game, not with the precision of a tas, but at the fastest speed I could handle. This is why I could never beat world nine. I would never slow down.
Same here, I loved going full speed on W9-7, I even noticed that the TAS used the same strat as I did at the very start of W9-7. Unfortunately I could only do a 2 star run going at full speed non-stop. I had to do this lame strat where you wait for ages in order to keep the flame power for the final star.
My sister and I jokingly used this strategy once while playing together. We referred to it as "playing it" and every single level we would both just move as fast as possible (inevitably dying a lot) while repeatedly saying "play it, just play it" the whole time (and of course laughing nonstop). One of the funniest bits we've ever done.
@@olsonakin I figured it out without pausing or slowing it down, he threw the shell, jumped on it to prevent the shell from falling off, kicked the shell again to break the brick and eliminate the porkypuffer and FINALLY get the star coin
It’s a tool-assisted speed run, meaning there wasn’t an actual person controlling the game. There’s still plenty of impressive speed runs out there of this game, though. This video is just showing the fastest theoretical route thru tools.
@@serixskylark Well actually, there is an actual person playing. This is just him playing with savestates and slowdown in a speedrun, hence the "tool-assisted" part of the TAS.
I like how he just tried to trigger me like who would carry a toad through the whole level to throw him away next to the flag or who would try to get 1 up for several levels when you are on 98 knowing it goes up to a limit of 99 and after he got the 99s up he just gets like 100 1 ups per game smh..
@@damientheincin I think he wanted a propeller suit for 5 but had an ice suit on after exiting 4. So he skipped 5 and came back after getting the desired powerup.
Also if he carried the toad all the way to the goal it would've coated extra time as fireworks shoot out and the game loads a toad house in, still it's kinda funny seeing toad get yeeted
The most impressive thing about this if it were a real person is the truly otherworldly display of self control when it comes to resisting the urge to use the propeller suit.
since i was a kid i would always imagine tas speedruns as if the character, in this case mario, has been saving the kingdom for so long that hes just a god now.
I really like level 9-8 Sometimes, it makes me thing that Mario died and has to go to Heaven, and rest like a true hero. Plus , Star World's music is quite nice.
