There is. Hyper knuckles has after images and super does not. I'm pretty sure he lights pink faster in his hyper form, and there's a hyper ability only knuckles can do which is if he Collides with the wall, he destroys every bad in on (and I think off screen. I think hyper can also breathe underwater.
