Say what you want to about Kunimitsu's original design, but the dual wielding of kunai and sickles was pretty badass, even if they couldn't be used in attacks.
Back when there was *nothing* that indicated Kunimitsu was a woman. People who remembered the character from Tekken 1 who played Tekken 2 must've been confused for at least a couple seconds. Never knew Kuni had a costume where she was wielding kamas. I'm still hoping she makes it into Tekken 7 if there indeed is a season 4.
Actually if you played the arcade version of Tekken 1, Kunimitsu clearly had breasts. They altered her design quite a lot for the console version. Her tekken 1 arcade design is what inspired her purple skin tight alternate outfit in TTT1 and TTT2.
3:24 Kunimitsu: Hey Yoshi can we dance just for a while? Yoshimitsu: Ok? 3:33 Kunimitsu to Yoshi: Hey you're not following my steps. Yoshimitsu: hey wait!! 3:40 Kunimitsu: you're boring me NOW DIE!!
@@vjacheslavdvorc I was talking about the games that came after Tekken 1 where there are some characters who still use recycled voice clips in Tekken 2, Tekken 3 & Tekken Tag Tournament 1.
I love Kunimitsu for two reasons. Her voice actor/actress and the fact that she was one of only two (P. Jack the other) characters who were from the original game and unobjectively shitter than the main characters that they were the sub-boss of. Don't ever try to tell me Kunimitsu is better than Yoshimitsu. She can't even do the three hit thing that Yoshi does and yeah P. Jack can fly but he can't do the squash THEN punch.
Prototype Jack at least has the "Megaton Uppercut" Class 1 launcher and the d+1,2 from Paul and Heihachi that can be used as a combo ender in this game. Kunimitsu is literally Yoshimitsu with no unblockables in Tekken 1.
I remember when both Michelle and Kuni were revealed in TT2 I was so excited because I thought they'd have a unique tag throw or at least a victory animation together. I was madly disappointed 😅
Ah, the days when Kunimitsu was a dude... Jokes aside, Tekken 1 always manages to spark my curiosity. As "experimental" as it looks and feels, there's some kind of beauty to watching the origin of it all.
Maybe someone can answer this question here since I couldn't find an answer online: In Kunimitsu's wiki it is stated that in TT2 one of her special allegiance partners was Jaycee. And I never understood why? Lol They didnt have a special tag throw, nor a win pose, nor was Jaycees health affected by Kunimitsu since DLC characters didn't have the netsu stats. So is that a mistake or something I didnt quite get or oversaw?
Imagine going back in time twenty-five years and telling Tekken players that this character would go on to become one of the series' biggest cult favorites.
This must of been the only Tekken game when u couldn't turn around on contact which was annoying, but as more Tekken games came out, the better it has become. But I love Tekken still tho.♥️
