Many users only use a fraction of the DP-24/32s functionality, missing key features that can make their processes better and faster. The Direct Location Feature set in the DP-24 is a great example. Hi. Again congrats on the thorough and well explained tutorials! I just recently got a DP 36 and I have a couple of questions. First of all, I’m wondering if it is possible to import files from a DP 08 directly into the 36 somehow or if I have to use a computer as an intermediary ? If so, how would I do that? Another question concerns effects. I have begun playing around with them - dynamic and then the guitar effects and send effects. and so on. First of all I don’t really understand what send effects are in a basic sense. Does this mean you add an effect after the playiing and recording, whereas with the others you set it on the track while you’re recording it? A third question - I was altering and editing some guitar effects on a particular track. I understood from reading the manual that you simply activate or deactivate the effects by the on off button on the fx screens. However, for this particular track it don’t seem to change anything when I turned the effects off. They remained on it. I had delay on it and everything I played thereafter on that track had delay on it. Not only that but I even opened a new song projects and that track still had the effects on it. All the other tracks seemed to work normally (however I hadn’t edited the effects). Any idea what could be going on?

The DP-24 & DP-32 are not USB audio interfaces, so you would not be able to do so in that way. However, you can exchange files for collaborations with various DAW software applications using these units. I just bought a dp24sd largely based on your tutorials (great job) and have an issue with the jog play feature. Sometimes when I go into jog play and/or when I click the button to switch between waveform view and time line view, the song just glitches out. The song stops playing and just sounds like it is skipping in one spot. Have you experienced this or is my unit faulty? I am going to return it, and may not buy a new one because my instinct tells me this is an issue with these machines in general, and not just my unit which is a shame becauseI love the unit otherwise. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
Before returning the unit, if you have not already please check out my video called "Tascam DP24/DP32 Digital Portastudio: Flaws and Fixes" on this channel. You may need to update the firmware to fix the issue. I've not had that issue, but then again my firmware is almost always updated as soon as I can do it. Sometimes I find the drop ins are not clean when using the drip in points when replacing live sections which is very frustrating and wastes time. Also there is a time lag sometimes when activating the record button manually.
I have the tascam dp-24sd. Does anyone know how to mute the monitors when wearing head phones?????? My Tascam NEO had a monitor mute button but I cant find one on the dp24sd....
