Thank you for the info on how to use the stereo bus to monitor an effect without recording the effect, and also how to use the stereo bus to record the effect in mixdown mode. You taught me exactly what I had had been wondering about!!!
I'm one of those guys that couldn't wrap my head around the Stereo Bus. Glad I'm not alone on this topic. I watched this video last year and thought you were talking Japanese! 😂 Now I'm understanding what you're lying down. Thanks again!!
I like the video. When master recording, such as the reverb on the Bass here, can you adjust the levels of reverb as it is recording? Meaning, if you wanted that strong delay at the beginning of a phrase, but want it diminished some in middle, with a bit more at the end, would that work here, or is that done in another setting?
Out of all the videos I watch to figure out my 32sd yours are the freaking best! My td-25 drums sound so cool with separation all my internet musicians I do tracks for are driving me crazy! hahahahha....and now I'm wondering about the phaser thing on here when I go into the mixer, any help with that?
Is it the internal phaser? Which spot is it located in? I'm doing this off the top of my head by I think there is a guitar one and one under effect sends. I'll have to check when I'm by my DP32 later.
That's the insert effects "button". After you turn it on, you can hit the effects button and start setting the effect the way you want it. I know that I did a video on it, I'll have to look for it.
a quick question? I have a cd recorder. its a Roland cd-2. The rca jacks on the back of my dp32sd say they send a signal from the stereo bus. can I record from there to my cd recorder? can I pug an rca cable from the dp32 to my roland and record a cd from the stereo bus after Im done recording on the dp32? I'm hopingto solve the problem of no cd burner on the tascam. and record a finished product using the roland cd recorder.
The Goya's are nice. This one is made in Japan. I'll do a Gear Find on it at some point. I liked it because of it's uniqueness. They haven't made Goya guitars since the 80's so it might be a hard find.
I have a problem with trying to record my Roland TD-25 drums that I have panned the toms and cymbals but it comes out as mono on my Tascam 24 SD deck. Any tricks?
How do you have your TD-25 hooked up. Are you using two mono tracks or one stereo track? If you are using mono tracks, you'll have to pan the tracks left and right to get them in stereo. If you are recording to a stereo track, it should do this automatically.
@@victorjames3768 I generally only have the instruments with the effects I want on them, that way when it comes to echo, slapback, etc, I can set it how I like at the end.
@@victorjames3768 Some vocalists for example like to record vocals with some reverb or delay so they have a sense of space instead of only hearing a flat dry vocal in their headphones. This is a good way to accommodate them without actually printing the effect to tape.
@@MikeFoerster hi on a side note , does the tascam have a separate volume for monitors and headphones ? If I were to record some vocals with headphones can I keep the volume of the headphones up and the monitors down or do you have to switch the monitors off ? Thanks
@@theblackcountrybandit1430 No, they are together. I use a Big Knob to keep the monitors separate and I also have a headphone system in my rack that I use for headphones.
The background music is annoying an makes the whole video kinda confusing why do you have the corny music playing in the background you have good videos except when you play that background music ugh
@@MikeFoerster hey I've learned how to use this machine a lot from you if I could ask you a question tho how can I get my songs to sound like they do thru the headphones and monitors cuz I have it sounding so good then I put it on my computer an it sounds nothing like what I just spent hours perfecting it's very frustrating I know that's a loaded question and it may take alot to answer if you even have time I've watched all your videos and I just can't figure out what I'm doing wrong
Hmm. It could be a couple of things, are you listening through the same headphones or speakers? Do you have EQ settings on the computer? I know that some apps will have a preset eq that you'll have to turn off. It could also be the computer has a preset EQ turned on by default as well.
@@MikeFoerster idk it just sounds so good thru my headphones and speakers but when I download it onto my computer and listen it sounds like garbage or when I put it on my phone it sounds like garbage thru the speaker on my phone but it still sounds good thru headphones I mean I just want it to sound the same or decent across all platforms and devices I mean if you look at my channel you'll find a cover of "Wherever I May Roam" by Metallica and I know you probably don't have time to but if you listen you'll hear it has so much reverb on the song that you can barely understand the guitar and it didn't sound like that when I mixed an mastered it not thru my headphones or monitors but when I got it onto my computer it sounded so delayed an reverbed out that its frustrating ya know
@@Kingnotthing If you want, export the files, send them to me a link (through email) to a dropbox and I'll give it a shot and mix it for you. Then we can see what's going on.
