When sued many people can legally file for bankruptcy. I think it may actually offer some legal protections such as being able to keep your house and 401k in some cases. I am not an attorney but I do know white folks used to and still do file for bankruptcy with a quickness to save assets.
People love to say women have a daddy wound if their fathers weren’t in their lives. But I don’t have one! My parents were never together and I’ve known that my mom decided to raise me as a single parent since I was very young. It means my familial structure was intentionally created without a man at the helm. This is very different than a child longing for a relationship with a parent that abandoned them. I feel like black people really need to start having more conversations about this and start to really point the finger at men who leave their families instead of women who pick up the pieces. ALSO this idea that a child needs 2 parents is ridiculous and undercuts the efforts of single parents who do everything to raise their kids in loving homes. Sorry for my slightly unrelated tangent
Agreed. It is why many gay couples raise successful kids. I just took my dad to a new chiropractor who was raised by two mommies. I graduated with his baby sister. She is in finance. You see it all the time if you go to private schools. Hell many rich kids were raised by their West Indian or Filipina nanny. 😂
I’m just at the point where I’m proud of us for being able to acknowledge that our parents weren’t the best and we have trauma. Because growing up a lot of us had to just deal and keep quiet. I hope his son finds healing. ❤
I worked in bk courts for years. What she did was stop paying everything after the judgment was won, allow the debt to stack and file to avoid paying Cardi. It’s judgement avoidance, it’s not uncommon for people to do this.
I'm a former bankruptcy attorney and I want us to know that bankruptcy can be a very good thing. Especially if you qualify for a Chapter 7. It is a legal way to shed burdensome and crippling debt and move on to create a life and build wealth for your family with your fresh start. Look around at all the wealthy people who have done it with zero shame and are living GOOT today, while we often struggle and strain to "do the right thing" to avoid the stigma of bankruptcy. Also, the move to Florida screamed "bankruptcy is coming" to me. And there are recent changes to Chaper 11 that make it very attractive to high earning individuals. But she now has to 1. meet residency requirements and 2. beat non-dischargeability arguments from creditors.
Thank you for saying that, why can't Tasha use the advantages of the legal system to comfortably pay her debt while creating wealth. This shouldn't be the end her, I don't know why people want to see her defeated.
Does bankruptcy mean the people owed will never be payed? We have a demon loved one who took the inheritance from grandparents and then had the nerve to file for this and sucked up all the money left

@@thecure3982 If the debt was discharged, then there is no further payment. Whether a debt should be discharged really depends on the specifics of the debt, whether it was disclosed to the court, and whether there was proper notice (so a lot of legal wiggle room there 🙂).

Former BK paralegal here, so this is based on strictly my almost 7 years of past experience. Tasha K filed Bankruptcy to stop the garnishment of her wages. A civil judgment can’t be discharged by the court but it can but set up to get a certain amount going forward and reorganized of that debt (payments going forward). Per her previous videos she said she also owed the IRS a sizable amount in taxes so this will stop them from placing a lien on her property and work that debt out with them. Chapter 11 is for business reorganization and can take time. During this time Cardi will not get her garnishment from Google it places a stay on that. The Bankruptcy Trustee will be in charge off all of this now. Bankruptcy doesn’t mean you are “broke” per say a lot of people use it in the business sense to get rid of the debt to reorganize and they do fine afterwards-look at how many times American Airlines filed. It’s up to Bankruptcy court and Trustee now, and it was wise legal move for Tasha after Cardi started to garnish all her sources of income. In Georgia the laws are extremely creditor friendly not debtor. Just so my thoughts and observations

Those amounts make sense if she bought her followers. People were saying that's what happened for the longest but others claimed that wasn't true because she had a few viral videos but that means nothing.
Bankruptcy won't stop the judgement but it will keep her from giving Cardi money any time soon and the battle will still be going on years into the future because of the bankruptcy, Cardi has paid way more money than she has collected and will continue spending way more if she don't give up, that's what Tasha is hoping and it wouldn't surprise me if she did.

Rodney- I feel the same. I have never had a relationship with my father and I am not upset with him...I do not miss something I have never had. I see him and I say hey and that is it. This is not Tasha's first time filling for bankruptcy, I'm sure she worked with an accountant/lawyer to avoid an IRS incident. Based on the amount owed, she will never pay back the total before leaving this earth. This judgement will be like a mortgage or excessively large college loan. She'll pay toward it for 30+ years before receiving her heavenly reward.

I literally just watched 3 videos to see what the men were saying. In all three, the youtubers were saying the right thing, but clearly, their viewers were not in agreement. It was so disturbing. They blamed everybody else including the mother, GFK's religion and the young man himself. In one video, the 2 hosts were even in agreement about the fact that even if you have a problem with the mom, there is still no excuse. Yet the men in the comments refused to see the light. The ones that did show some wisdom were maybe 2 to 3 guys. Which makes me wonder what other information is being discussed on these channels because if your audience is believing the exact opposite, that says alot about the channel. GFK's son also dropped his text receipts. I literally burst into tears after seeing them. Still saying: Daddy we need you. At the point the only thing we should be hearing from people who don't believe him is: GFK what is your response to this?
I do find it funny that all those known millionaires filed bankruptcy and it was okay .. but the minute a black woman does it ... its everyone's business and everyone has an opinion. Tasha K should have been filed bankruptcy, her home should have been in her baby's name, or her daughters name. Why? I get where you're coming from Rodney, but I can see why he feels more of a sense of loss than you do. His father is a public figure, so I'm sure he saw and heard about him growing up, so it was harder for this to be a case of out of sight out of mind.
