@@abahesther3994 I just practice a lot and put myself in the exam condition. However, I reduced time by 5-10 mins. Say for example, if the real test is 60 mins, I allowed myself only 50 mins. I then used the remaining time to double check the answers or went back to the question that I was not sure about.

@@JIJisan-kl4oe Sure! For preparation, I practiced everyday. I tried to practice all sections. But, if I didn't have enough time, I would be focus on what section was my worst weakness. In my case was writing section, so I made sure I practice writing everyday by doing at least 2 tasks (part 1 or part 2) a day, and read many essays for part 2 to improve my flow and vocabulary in writing. And before you study, you have to make sure to empty your mind, so you can be focus. I did 'silent time' for at least 10-15 minutes before study (no phones). Mindset is also important. "Think simple". You don't have to think about grand ideas, think simple. If you think too hard, especially about the idea, you'll ended up writing nothing. You also have to put in your mind if IELTS is a communication test. I got this from Chris and it helped me to calm and thought clearly while I do the practice and the test. For the test day, just have fun and stay focus. Particularly in speaking, as Chris said, take it as you talk to a friend at a café. (This even made me forget about I was at IELTS speaking test when I had the conversation with the examiner 😭, but it caused me to speak naturally) That's the tips and tricks from me, hope it helps😊

I remember back in October's end, i found your channel and started to watch your content. Hey Chris, I'm so thankful for and to you. I was unsure about my Ielts readiness 2 weeks to my exam(I hadn't being able to give time to study, I had just barely concluded reading a book about IELTS writing a friend sent me then). Initially, I had planned on practicing everyday for the rest of the week before my exam but that was when I stumbled on your video and I went ahead to consume them totally😂, afterwhich I practiced just 1 reading passage, 4 listening tapes, 1 writing module and 3 speaking practice with my friend. Hi Chris, I watched some of your videos for tips to try some online ielts sample test. Thanks to your tips, I was able to finish the reading section pretty early for my 1st time. I only got 6.5 for reading though, but when I checked the answers, some of my mistakes are quite unjust. For example: _ Some mistakes are from not copying exactly what was written in the essays, like my answer was "friends and families" while the correct answer is "families and friends". _ Another one is from an anatomy diagram for a fish. The part that need filling in is pointing to the fish's pectoral fin, so I answered "pectoral". But the accepted answer was "pectoral and pelvic" since this is exactly what was written in the essays. I even looked this up afterwards and the pelvic fins are indeed at a different position from the pectoral fins (it's quite obvious from their names). This seems to be a problem for computer based tests since the answers are checked automatically. So I want to ask since I have no experience with ielts, does this problem occurs in the actual ielt tests, specifically the computer based test? Since I decided to take the test on computer for the headphones advantage in the listening session.

I promised myself that I would come back and write here once I got my IELTS score. On Monday I had my first ever try (IELTS general). I had one month to prepare. Listening/ Reading - 7 | Writing/ Speaking - 6.5 I was able to achieve an Overall 7 in IELTS yesterday. All thanks to you Sir ! Hi Chris. Great vid as always, very informative. My first question- for writing an overall paragraph for a process diagram I’ve been given a tip to break a process into stages (let’s say, 2 or 3 general stages) and outline what they are, e.g plastic bottles are recycled and sorted, then are processed using various machinery, and then are turned into raw material for new plastic products (or something along the lines) - so we’re essentially breaking the process into stages, and omit simply listing all steps, which would frankly be a shitty overview :) what do you think about that approach to understanding the diagram effectively? Second question - as information needs to be logically organised, isn’t it essential to show that logic to the examiner?Or are they going to understand the underlying logic of unchanged shape of the bottles being in the first para, and then fiddling with it being in the second? Seems unlikely, so should we or not? Cheers and thanks much for the videos

Another great video here, Chris. My students have had a lot of success with some of the methods you mention for all skills. If you're taking video ideas, I'd love to see a comparison between paraphrasing techniques. The discrepancy between 'Uses paraphrasing effectively as required' (Band 8) & 'Uses paraphrasing effectively' (Band 7) is one of the parts I struggle to teach as an IELTS tutor myself. I have a question: I have always written the overall paragraph mentioning all the stages briefly, so which is the best way to write it? Only mentioning the first and the last stage or all the stages?

I started binging his tutorials a week before my test.. got overall BAND 8. R-9. W-7.5 L-8.5 S-7.5. Guys, don’t blindly do a bunch of practice tests. Pay attention to his techniques in each aspect of the test and PERFECT PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT SCORE

I’ve heard that to gain band 7 or 8, you have to use C1 C2 vocabularies and advance collocations. Is that right?

Thank you so much for all your great videos! I am currently studying for my IELTS test (only 2 more weeks to go). I am struggling most with writing but I am slowly getting there with all your helpful tips and insights! I've got a question regarding describing units in a diagram e.g. a line graph that shows energy consumption in quadrillion units. Do I need to write out quadrillion units every time I put in the number or can I abbreviate it e.g the first time I write: "... 50 quadrillion units (50qu)" Can I then use that abbreviation in the remaining text or is that not allowed? Thank you for your help :)

These can be abbreviated or written in full. All of the following would be correct: * Fifty kilometres * 50 kilometres * 50 km * 50 kms Even though writing numbers out in full is acceptable, it is best to use number forms instead to avoid spelling mistakes. Best of luck with your test!

I had R 8.5, L 7.5, S 7, W 7 on my first trial, thanks to your videos and the idea of using the vocabulary we have and keeping it simple. At a point I taught this test was too simple and I was going to fail😂 but I persisted . You're such a great teacher Thank you very much God bless you for your hard work

Hi, Chris! I want to ask you a question about taking IELTS on computer. When in the listening part, the answer is 19977 77011 and if I ignore the white space between the numbers, my answer like 1997777011 could be wrong?

Sir We mentioned step 5 in body paragraph 2 . If we mention each and every step in paragraph 1 like Step ... so will there be a penalty or it is quite accepted ?
