I can feel that! Best documentation of a hanglider race i have seen so far. Wish it would be done in that proper way in TV. Including interviewes in air. Hangglider-expert-journalist can follow in an trike. Much more interesting and complex compared to ocean race sail regatta, which make good money with broadcasting.

If only! That would be great wouldn't it!!! Though I'm not sure that many pilots would agree to those interviews - they'd be too busy flying. Only someone stupid like me would do it ;-)

Great work, a lot of that footage looked like it came from a jet 🚀 😎👍

Gotta love those days you gain 1000 ft flying straight line. Couple nice saves in there too. 👍

Oh I gained a lot more than 1000ft on this one. It was unbelievable. At the end over 70mph after a 45km glide and STILL arrived too high!

Thank you Darren for sharing this trilling experience. Which hang glider model should I get in 2023? Please suggest me one best glider according to the design and performance.

That all depends on your own experience and preference. I know nothing about you, your skill level or your preference, so I really couldn't say.

Great videos, really interesting. What conditions were causing you to gain altitude even in a straight line? Simply a high concentration of large thermals, or a generally buoyant air mass? Do we ever get conditions like this in the UK?

This is an effect called convergence - where two air masses collide with each other and then go UP. Yes we get conditions like this in the UK, mostly near the coast. I haven't flown in it though and don't think it's ever quite like this was!
