Let me start by saying thank you for a great video. I've been dying to use Tasker for about 2 years now and always felt overwhelmed. Your video was easy to follow thanks again.
I very much enjoy your lessons on tasker, have been following you for years, and I'm just know understanding tasker, thanks for keeping your channel up.
You gave me tye help I needed and I didn’t even ask. Apologies for expressing my frustration in a comment! You have been very kind and helpful! Thank you for that! ❤
Go to tasker profile tab and select event trigger. Search for device boot. Then link a new task which has an action called launch app. Select the app from the list and save by exiting Tasker.
Hi there, I have tried what you said above and I think it worked. I just have to start the car again sometime today to bring absolutely sure. One question for you. Can I add a delay of 5seconds for this app to start. So the profile now starts an app I wanted, I’d like to start 5-10 seconds later mot straight on boot. Thanks a lot. 👍
Just the settings that need to be changed has helped me a lot. I followed another tutorial for a scene with text and text sender fields, but when I got a text it popped up as it should, but the phone then went straight to the normal text notification. :-)
Tasker is a powerful app, I was able to create a gesture in Nova launcher and initiate auto brightness through tasker only when needed, I.e when I am outside (long back with a low cost, low feature mobile) Also, once I needed to annoy a person, I scheduled calls every one hour at mid night, as he deserved it 😋
Very good video, well done on the explanation. For me I don't see a need for such an app. I gave it a fair chance a but really struggled to find a use for it. Good luck to those who use it.
The use cases span from something simple (like keeping orientation locked in selected apps) to advanced setups (I can control home heating from tasker and have it display the data about my home in a permanent notification).
Hi NotEnoughTECH someone still your video the past month and update it to other channel. The tittle is "Tasker App for Android How To Use Correctly Full Review And Tutorial 2022". They record your screen and update it redirecting to their page on the description. BTW Great video
Could you please help me create a profile that disabled mobile data when I connected to a WiFi network and that WiFi deactivated when It stopped being connected to a network after 60 seconds
Hello. I downloaded an "adorcam" video surveillance application, I was wondering if with Tasker it would be possible to give it an automatic save command as soon as a motion notification arrives. Currently I have to check the event notifications and manually save them on my phone. The generated files reside on the SD card inside the camera. Thank you for your availability
You can create the trigger based on specific notifications. The only problem is with handling the app. If your app supports API then you can make tasker request otherwise you would need AutoInput to open up and imitate buttons being pressed
Amazing thanks for sharing! Can you use tasker/trigger to enable an nfc tag to prompt an application to instagram, go to a specific profile and follow that person if in a scenario that someone wanted to add you and they tapped your nfc tag?
You can record the NFC tag to show URL but unless scanning device has a tasker profile you can't automatically do that. If scanning phone has tasker profile for NFC you can make it do whatever you want
Hello everyone, I'm looking for a way to switch the screen of my Android phone to black and white according to the time of day. I've tried creating a Tasker program for this, but I haven't been able to get it to work properly. Would anyone be able to help me by providing detailed instructions or a similar example Tasker program? I'm currently using a Google Pixel 4A running Android 12. Thank you in advance for your help!
I've been trying to use Tasker with NFC tags but I can't figure out how to get it to work without the phone prompting me which app to use to read the NFC tag.
Hi. I would like to turn Fast charging Off or On any time. I am not able to find online how to create Tasks for turn Fast charging Off or On. Could you help me with this problem please? Thank you.
Fast charging is a protocol that is negotiated by hardware which makes it hard to enable/disable without a low level access. I don't believe taker can't control this without some serious hacks. Just use a slow charger next to bed and use fast charge throughout the day as needed. That way your battery will outlast your urge to upgrade
I have a OnePlus phone and there's a feature called the widget shelf that you can access by swiping down on the top right of the phone. Is there a way I can use tasker so that I can open the widget shelf by long pressing the home button??? 🛀
Hello! Can I Use Tasker to open the camera shortcut on my android desktop, and then take a photo? I was able to do this before with a little device called AB shutter" but it stopped being functional with the PIE update. Thanks.
Do you want to take the picture from the same device or another? If its on the same device just create the task and add a icon to it, so you can change it into a task shortcut, then in actions - you should have "take a photo" - add a wait time if you want to have a delay and that's all. Ignore the NavBar question, i thought you were referring to another video
I must say, a great beginners tutorial. Had Tasker for about a year could not be bothered jumping the initial learning curve. Looking at other comments for complex projects.... Maybe Tasker gets home, using Android location and triggers Tasmota on a esp32 to fire a relay and open garage door.
Toggling on/off WiFi has little benefit unless you are happy to disable background scanning, you can however try and force the phone to connect to a specific WiFi instead if that's what you are affter
I created a profile when I launched an app, it will perform the task: 1st action it will show up the shortcut of input method keyboard, 2nd action it will perform a autoinput click action to switch to the keyboard that I want, and right now when I open the app it did show up the keyboard and auto click to the keyboard that I want, but it keeps on looping and repeating the 1st and 2nd action all over again and again! I just can't stop it when I am staying in the app:( I did try a 3rd action to stop the task (name of this task) but still it keeps on repeating itself:( do you know how to stop this task after it performs once when I stay in this app? Thanks for your great help!
I'm sorry for the late reply. Your task gets triggered when you pop up your keyboard, and your app is no longer in focus. Put your AutoInput actions into IF statement. Set the variable %ready to 0 at the beginning of your task, and set it to 1 at the end of your task. if your task runs, IF condition will check if %ready isn't 1. This way everything inside the IF statement will only loops once.
Hi, Previously I was using "Action-Works" it was very easy use and configure. This I find to be tough and hard to understand create the needful actions. What I want is as follows: When I reach to a certain "mobile-tower" (may be more than one) then it will set my volume to 30% and when I leave those mobile-towers then it will restore to 100%. Please not it is not GPS based only mobile tower based. Can you please help me in creating these. Thanks
You need one trigger, that has state condition and list there all cells that are connected for this condition. Then 2 tasks linked - one is the exit tasks that restores the volume of the phone, and one that sets the volume when activated. You can use Flash action in each taks to see it in action and add a toast message
Hi, I just got Tasker. But I can't find a way to disable or mute the 2nd SIM at a specific hour on a specific day. Do you know where can I find some help?
is there a way to automate battery saver? i have bedtime mode on at night where it turns on DnD. IS there a way for Tasker to turn on Battery Saver when the bedtime mode triggers? and then turn off when the bedtime mode ends? Im a noob and not an engineer so maybe if you could help me out? I run Android 13 on a Motorola.
Thx for the vid! So Im trying to find a way for my elderly mother to easy push a button on a bluetooth keyboard connected to an android tablet that will set the timer in her audiobook app to play for another hour. Would that be possible with Tasker?
check this one out: notenoughtech.com/tasker/7-awesome-bluetooth-keyboard-shortcuts-for-android/ especially the one where I use autoinput to press element of the screen - that would achieve what you need
Heloo .. i have watched your clip . thanks for you're efforts :) i have one question :/ i tried to do it already but it fail for some reason ! i need to launch DVR APPLICATION once i move from my work location and exit the app once i reach my home location !.. any idea if it possible ?!
Q1: Do you have a task that already starts the DVR? Q2: Do you have WiFi at work? The profile isn't complicated, as if you have WiFi (better for battery) then you can change the location info based on what WiFi you are linked to. Then it's a matter of running the DVR task when you are connected to a home WiFi AND the application is not opened. This is your next video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VfJzYmncC5w.html
@@notenoughtech great, I did this now every thing works to launch the target application, then it follow a sequence of autoinput and wait intervals between a set of autoinput, works greatly but when my phone locks I do see only the launch of app has worked from the sequence and other sequence steps are not implemented, any idea how to either complete the sequence in lock screen or how to unlock screen then complete the sequence
I'm stuck on a simple task. I'm have pandora to launch when its connected to my cars bluetooth but I don't wan it to launch Pandora if i'm watching a youtube video. Anyone care to help me out.
Add app in the trigger for your Bluetooth profile select the RU-vid app and click invert. It will only launch it when you connect to car but RU-vid isn't open
Thank you, you are great! 100PRO ... Please, do you have a tasker tutorial, where you teach how to extract information from different messages and then group them and send them to a whatsapp chat ... an incredible example would be that we take information from a whatsapp chat to group that info and pass it on to another WhatsApp user ... Million thanks, I hope you can and have it, it would be great!
Is it possible to create a task, where you do certain things within another app like "Google Home"? I would like to have a widget on the home screen, when I click on it, the Home App starts and selects certain device and starts streaming musik to my music equipment. Is this possible with Tasker or any other recommandations.
@@notenoughtech I tried to use AutoInput with Tasker, but I always get an error. I couldn't even get the Home app started, let alone the next 3-4 steps. I only wanted to save 4 clicks, which is necessary in order to stream. Maybe it would work with root, which I currently don't have. Anyway, thank you very much for pointing out AutoInput.
@@notenoughtech hope you had a nice nap :) Thanks you for the follow up. I actually don't want to work with the voice command. All I want a widget on my homescreen to do the 4 clicks for me automatically. Here you can see the steps in a video I just created. ru-vid.com27DqdZ3ZL6g
Yes if so it's the autoinput. You need to start with the Google home screen and then do a custo. Action for each section clicked - autoinput has a handy way of selecting these to go through.
My job sends me direct calls from the same number, and whoever answers first gets the lead. Now I have to answer, press the keypad button, then press 1. Do you have an easy way where I could answer the phone and have it automatically press 1 for me? That would cut two steps and I'd double my call volume. Thank you for any help!
Look at the profile tab add event trigger incoming call. Then run task which will answer the call and use AutoInput to imitate the touches. For that AutoInput has options to follow and record your actions as you do them (notifications will have steps explained) you may need small pauses in between touch inputs
@@notenoughtech - You should redo this video and give a small piece of advice at the very beginning that you make your selections with your middle finger. I also got confused at first because you would say to select something, and I'd watch where your pointer finger went, and I wouldn't see the same menus. Just a small suggestion. Thanks for the great tutorial.
AutoInput tasker: How can I create opration below : 1- input action click point ,2- input action click point, so I have 2 click point , I want if item wasn't available so run next item (2- input...) , But in app ,when it can't click on first item so I see error and it doesn't run next item how can I set it?
You have an option in task to continue the task after error. You can select that and when you run it again and the action times out, it moves to the next action in the task
Double check the format it had been a couple of app updates and things could change slightly . Usually JSON errors are due some issues with extra , or : or }
Edit the autoremote string to compose your own notification is you want to change the layouts you will need to re do the variables inside the template action in tasker
2:45 😲 I wouldn't dare send my mother an automated message saying I'd text her back in 5 minutes, otherwise she'd probably come over and beat me with her slipper for making her wait...
Hi sir, good day, need your kind favor and assistance, hope I'm not disturbing you at all, can you create a video tutorial using tasker to enable mobile data if Wi-Fi is off. Thanks.
My suggestion would be to monitor the WiFi you are connected to (look at the state profiles) and trigger the WiFi trurn off and Mobile Data turn on action once you are outside known network
@@notenoughtech Thanks for the reply, I just want to open one app daily and click on one button everyday once Its like marking the attendance Is it possible?
Hi, very helpful. I do need a hand. I want an app to turn on & off when connected to a bluetooth device. I can get it to turn on, but I am not getting the IF function correct, when the Bluetooth device is disconnected...basically, the app should then turn off. But Tasker is turning on the app correctly, but immediately turning it off...again, because I have not done the IF function correctly. Thanks in advance for any advice.
You shouldn't need if condition. Just an exit task. Use BT state as connected to X device to launch the app then in exit task close the app when no longer connected
@@notenoughtech When you're showing how to see files in the internal storage of the phone Tasker isn't on the list for me for some reason. Everything else is perfect.
@@DeadWaterLies Extensions... if you import Project files it will show prj.xml but no prf.xml (profile files) only in that menu. So for each import menu you will see correct files only Make sure to grant storage permissions
If you can make a video on how to disable the loud volume warning using Tasker I think it will be a useful video that many people seem to search quite a bit.
I need my spotify starts playing when my samsung A70 links to the car bluetooth device. Tasker only do the job if me smartphone is unlock with fingerprint. Why tasker wont startup spotify when my phone is on lockscreen fingerprint. protected and
HTTP i handled the same way as any other HTTP request. You need to know the components needed for the server (header body formatting authentication etc) and fill in the fields
@@notenoughtech sir if possible pls make a sample video of home automation via http with basic info for a freeware online server and required fields we need to enter, im a newbie and can't figure out tasker's this capability :)
Hello dear sir I saw your video and have subscribed you and your work is great, well done keep it up sir. I have a very confusing situation in tasker app which i tried but i could not setup the task. If possible could you give my your email so i could explain you in simple words.
