I don't understand how Sal brings up that you can make sandwiches with waffles and Joe's counter argument is freakin' crepes and not the McGriddle 😳🤣

The second Joe brought up crêpes, this episode went completely off the rails, and I LOVED it lmaoooo

Pancakes are amazing until the 6th bite, then they become a mission to finish.

If Joe mentioned the McGriddle it would have been a whole different episode

So far I’ve been resonating with Sal’s food choices more. Not to mention his impeccable argument skills lmao

This is like watching a married couple arguing and it's so funny

The "diner to-go container" skit has to be one of the funniest things I've seen in a while. The quick remarks from Sal have me dying. "Reverse, slam it down", "bup-bup-bup just had a stroke" -- I am absolutely dead hahaha

I think Sal had a better argument. The crepe thing was absolutely bonkers.

It was so painful how right Sal is and I couldn’t scream my support over all the other screaming.

This is my new favorite show.

Crepes are off the table! 20 minutes in and DeRosa doesn’t have a leg to stand on with ‘cakes and he’s trying to bring in reinforcements... use pancakes for their intended purpose and sop up those tears, hombre...

Here's the thing: take syrup out of the argument completely! You can still have a waffle and it will still be delicious. A pancake just tastes like nothing (maybe flour) with a spongey texture. It's like tofu. It needs something else to take on the flavor of.

Waffles. Have a crispiness combined with softness. Holes for catching amazing butter and honey. Stay together better stacked. Better for adding toppings. Stays on fork better.

Sal's sincerity and genuine kindness is on another level and I gotta be honest with you guys, I'm jealous I don't have a friend like that. Life with a friend like him would be a real treat. That being said, great episode love the channel!

Waffle and Belgian waffle are comparable to pancakes and Silver Dollar pancakes. Crepes are completely different. Joe lost this one.

I’m a waffle guy. Love that waffles are consistent and the crevasses. Bad pancakes will ruin pancakes and I’ve had too many bad pancakes. I do not doubt pancakes versatility.

Dear Taste buddies, This episode was so intense and delightful, I was compelled to offer a european perspective. I am Belgian of nationality, was born in Paris (France ;)), lived in Germany for 4years and now live almost 3 decades in the Netherlands. Each of these countries consumes both of the discussed food items. XD Let me preface that these two titans of a meal are perfectly matched to battle. To Sal's point the pancake aka crêpe/pfannenkoech/pannenkoek (French/German/Dutch respectively). They can be seen as different foods, but... yet again they are national spins of the same concept. Thus proving Joe correct! The european versions can be eaten with savoury condiments such as cheese, ham, bacon and even egg. (These are more traditionally found in Dutch cuisine). The "pannenkoek" can thus be eaten as a breakfast item and even dinner. Though I have enjoyed this on occasion my rather francophile upbringing finds the eating of pancakes for dinner quite barbaric. The Germans and french definately agreed on one thing and that was, that the crêpe/pfannenkoech is a dessert item mostly topped with fruit, whipped cream and or ice cream. And can be drisslled with a variety of syrups. The Belgian waffle mind you, is not the same in the US. It is a BASTARDISED version of the original Liège waffle... commonly known as a Belgian waffle (Liège= town in Belgium famous for its unique waffle recepe). The common waffle originally known as the "Gaufre" should have been the argument Sal should have used. Thus nullifying the majority of Joe's arguments. Bringing it back to which of the two items is better and why. In my personal opinion it is a neck and neck race. A good pancake is easier to find ( at a diner/restautant) than a good waffle making it hard to support the waffle. Yet the newer waffle is superior even if only slightly. The reason being the broad variety in textures on can get when biting in to a well made, fresh pressed waffle. The pancake is often dependent on where you came from and how they make them there. Having experienced good waffles is all the countries i have lived in and also the rivaling variations of pancake. The common waffle wins. When made correctly it is unbeatable. What an invigorating episode. Please revisit this battle and have some one argue the dark horse.. French toast as that too has european recipes. ✌🏾✌🏾

I'm late to the party but please, Joe throwing crepes into the arguement like they're pancakes is like having a fight between alfredo and tomato sauce and then throwing in salsa because it's a tomato sauce.

this is purely a texture decision - if you like your food soft you like pancakes if you like some crunch you like waffles

Joe just needed to pull out the McGriddle as a sandwich. But crepes are different!

A crepe isn't just a thin pancake because it doesn't have any fluff whatsoever like a pancake. Therefore, the texture between a crepe and a pancake is more different than the difference between a regular waffle and a Belgian waffle.

I honestly cannot explain how much I disagree with Joe on the crepe argument. A crepe is not the same thing as a pancake. A Belgian waffle is a waffle. That’s like saying a hamburger is the same thing as a steak. Sals argument is so bullet proof it’s insane. He’s saying a Belgian waffle is just a thicker burger, to the thinner waffle of a normal burger. This is not even an argument.

I love how these devolve into an argument about what the original argument is actually about.

The "crepes are pancakes" argument is like asking someone if they want some eggs, and then giving them caviar. Like... Yeah, they ARE eggs, but no-one is going to assume that's what you meant.

Joe's argument is once again a failed attempt. He said "I could smash a whole box of Eggos", and that proves pancakes are inferior. Go right ahead, eat a dozen pancakes. I'll hold your hair as you puke everywhere and roll around feeling like a bloated walrus. Meanwhile, I'll have a couple delicious waffles that are wonderfully light and don't leave me feeling like I ate a carb loaded bowling ball.
