@@silvasoutdooradventures So looking forward to that video!! I hope you decide to film it. I've tried a couple of things because of your trail food videos as well as found a lot on my own. It's been a struggle finding things that are both vegan AND gluten free; gluten free isn't always thar great 🙄😝
should have had the package on the table while reviewing it, made it really hard to click thru to look for the review of a particular coffee =( or put timestamps next to the brands in the description.
Thanks for the feedback. This was the first video like this we had done. Didn't really think about putting time stamps when we made the video did show the packaging as we were going along but not much room on the table to keep things. Have a great day!
Oh! Opinions differ so much on coffee! Taster's Choice...I think there's one RU-vidr who calls it "Taster's Nasty"! And I saw a coffee tasting by a couple hikers who liked the Alpine Start and Starbucks. ... I like the Mount Hagen (to me it's about the same a Cafe Altura), though I think Alpine Start and Waka are better (though Wake is a bit more expensive). I think Alpine Start has a couple coffees with coconut powder creamer, too, including one called Dirty Chai. I haven't tried Four Sigmatic (though after you mentioned mushroom, maybe that's why) or Laird Instafuel, though. ... I've also been trying Cascadia recently. ... BTW, this was a fun video to watch! The two of you have great and different reactions! :)
Hahaha “Taster’s Nasty” agree with that! I have tried the Starbucks Columbia and like it better then the Pike Place! I do usually have a vanilla coconut powdered creamer I carry but wanted to try them black. I’ll have to check out the Dirty Chia one. We had a lot of fun with this video! Thanks for watching! 😊
@@silvasoutdooradventures I"d watch further coffee tasting or other similar things! You two have been married long enough and are comfortable expressing your own -- sometimes differing -- views of things. And it was fun!!
Just stumbled upon your video. You guys are hilarious! So happy we made it on the safe #2 with both of you. Thank you very much! Oh, and Matt you actually got our name the right way (the fun way!). Cheers. 🍮
Nice! The fun way is always the right way even it it happens by accident haha Also your coffee is now officially in my pack with some spares in my survival kit. It was really great of you to comment on our video thank you for that! Cheers to you as well!
Haha Thanks for watching! We had a blast! I usually carry powdered vanilla coconut creamer but I thought we’d try it black for the taste test. Lol I can drink black coffee but I prefer it with creamer. 😂
I like Folgers Coffee pods with some Laird superfood creamer. The seasonal pumpkin spice one is amazing, as is the chocolate mint. Plain is okay too, but these are really nice treats to have on the trail.
I didn’t try the Trader Joe’s instant because they have the cream and sugar in them. Lol. I hate sweet coffee in the morning. Haha Plus being vegan I don’t want the cream in there. I was hoping Trader Jose’s had ones without the cream and sugar but I can’t think they do. I’m sure that extra caffeine kick helps in the morning. I’ll keep that in mind when I’m dragging! 😂
I usually drink Starbucks medium roast Colombia on trail Will definitely try the Folgers. I have talked to people with coffee presses on the trail. ☕️ Thanks for the video.
I’ve had the Starbucks Columbia and I think it’s better then the Pike Place for sure. I don’t know about carrying a press though hmmm I may check it out. Lol Thanks for watching!!
This was a really fun video to watch! I use Starbucks or Folgers because I can get those locally. Tasters Choice is definitely NOT my choice. Will have to try the Mount Hagene.
What I want to know is how your reflection plays into the taste. Is it like throwing some runes and a splattering of rat blood into the cup and you get this vision of tastes to come? Or is it more like Mr. Silva just likes to look at himself whilst ramping up for the trail? If you don't see a reflection at all, does that mean the coffee has no soul? Or maybe it's meant for the vampire community. Inquiring minds want to know!
Reflection quality indicates taste quality. Taster’s Choice was see through and tasted terrible whereas the one with good reflective properties had a higher taste rating. No reflection coffee would actually eat your soul so I recommend not going that route if at all possible even in the most dire of circumstances. Some of my best friends are rats so they would be very displeased if I were to cast runes and go down that road.
