High Protein Crispy Salt n Pepper Chicken & Chips Meal Prep! Only 436 Calories🍗🍟🔥
Combining 2 very popular takeout meals! This tastes absolutely delicious, is low in calories, filling and easy to make for the week ahead!
Macros per serving (4 total)
436 Calories | 40g Protein | 47g Carbs | 10g Fat
Ingredients (for 4 servings)
- 700g Raw Chicken Breast Cubed
- 1 tbsp Dark & Low Soy Sauce each
- 2 tsp Black Pepper
- 2 tsp Garlic Powder
- 25-30g Corn Flour / Corn Starch
- 800g Raw White Potatoes cut into Chips
- Season Salt, Pepper, Garlic Powder, Paprika
- 2 tsp Olive Oil
- 1 Medium Onion chopped
- 1 Medium Red & Green Bell Peppers chopped
- Season Salt, Pepper, Garlic, Paprika, Chilli Flakes
- Chopped Green Onion
Important Cooking Notes
- Mix the chicken till well combined, you can cook the chicken in the air fryer for 10-12 mins at 200C or cook like the video instructions
- Bake the fries in the oven for 25mins at 210C or
Air Fry for 12-15mins at 210C
- You can reheat the fries in a pan or air fryer to make them crispy again

So this is a rough estimation of the calories; 800g potatoes = 615 calories (depending on the type of potato you’re looking at about 75 calories per 100g) 20g honey (approx 1 Tbs) = 60 calories Olive oil; 120 calories per Tbs (15ml) Corn flour; 110 calories per 30g Chicken breast; 110 calories per 112g (4oz) So assuming 800g potatoes, 20g honey, 15ml olive oil, 30g corn flour, 16oz chicken breast you’re looking at something like 1,345 calories altogether. Which divided by 4 equals about 340 calories a meal. You can change the measurements according to desired macros but yeah this meal can be pretty good 👍 EDIT: the description mentions the macros and measurements of ingredients used in the video. I went into a bit more detail to show the breakdown of each ingredient. For a lot of people this isn’t necessary but for those who like to see the whole breakdown I hope this helps!

There’s no way you actually cook if you’re wasting your time caramelizing onions and peppers. You’d then have wet onion/peppers making the fries/chips soggy.

Question: Whenever I try to pan-cook he cubed chicken for these recipes, I can never seem to get them crispy like they turn out in the video. They keep letting out too much juice, which fills the pan and half-steams them. They still turn out good, but not crispy. Do I need to dry them better beforehand, or maybe cook less at a time? Would doing them in the air-fryer crisp them up a little better?

If you want to make the fries better, boil them till they are about to fall apart. Then gently move them into a tray and cool them. Pour some oil on them and half cook them on a lower heat.let them cool. Then throw them back in with more oil on a higher heat. Then once done season them. The outside will be like glass and the inside like a cloud. Only thing about doing this is it’ll use a shit ton of oil and probably isn’t a good diet food. But definitely something to make when you just want something good.

@@flopus7 I like boneless skinless chicken thighs and the fat in the meat is plenty if you use a nonstick pan. Also if using boneless skinless chicken breast I’ll use a crockpot on high for 4 hours with some chicken broth for moisture and either salsa, taco seasoning mix, sugar free bbq sauce or similar.

I put my fries in the freezer for about 30 minutes to make sure I can fry them without over cooking or getting soggy. Before I season them. It works.

This is a great example of healthy low cal eating. Why eat bland white rice, when you can eat potatoes with olive oil... that's all those chips are. They aren't deep fried in sunflower oil. Nice whole foods. I make a spice bag almost daily, ifyky, and it's as simple as this

You can cut pork thin and pour soy sauce set for 30 mins or less and fry in pan. Serve with rice. Sprinkle with sesame seeds. Quick and easy.

Feel like food is not making much sense anymore, well i never knew anything about it anyway, it's just mind blowing that it has so little calories, a few slice of homemade bread probably has the same id "guess". I'd definitely choose this over some chocolate bar, but all that effort, and ingredients that you have to buy, then make etc etc. Exact time you gain from eating that healthy food, you might just be losing it in the process of making it. From raw potato to the oven? Big no no. Blanch then freeze them first, then fry once at a low temp, freeze again. Then fry again at a high temp and put on a wire rack to cool, and then you season. Waaaay crispier that way.

They came out alright, but I feel like the taste was affected slightly since the chicken never got mixed.

If you're going to put the potatoes in the same container as the chicken, you may as well slice the potatoes the same shape as the chicken, or at least cut them in half so they're easy to get on the fork

You can use coconut amonios to substitute the soy sauce.
