It was so interesting watching & listening to your tasting. Lately I’ve done a few tastings of some new production individual teas and a couple multi-tea comparisons. You don’t know how dynamic it can be until you do it. Then when I listen to your conversation, I learn more about perspective. Thank you

There are 3 main varietals in BYS. Theres the bitter varietal (cant rmb the exact name), Hei Tiao zhong (black picked varietal which is the sweetest and most prized) and Ergazi (in between the two). My best lincang teas are a Fengqing and BYS hei tiao zhong danzhu. I generally enjoy puerh from BYS and Fengqing, both have similar fragrance and clean character that I seek. Nice to see your findings corroborate with mine - until I find an actual good Bangdong/Xigui (more sunlight, more brash but flat) or even Mengku/Da Xue Shan tea (the most famous among the 3 regions of lincang), I will stick with my good danzhu from the north lincang area.

If you obtained a loose leaf sheng puer and the exact same leaves that had been made into bings, would there be a dramatic difference in the taste of the tea? Have you ever been able to do that?
