Ingredients :
Shrimp - 300 gm
Turmeric powder - 1/2 Tsp
Salt - 1 Tsp
Dry Coconut powder - 2 Tbsp
Coriander seeds - 1 Tbsp
Poppy seeds - 1 Tbsp
Oil - 1 Tbsp
Cardamom - 3
Cloves - 4
Cinnamon - 1/2 inch
Bay leaves - 2
Mace - 1/2
Cumin seeds - 1 Tsp
Onion - 1
Green chilli - 4
Ginger garlic paste - 1 Tbsp
Rice - 1 cup
Water - 1 1/2 cups
Coriander leaves - 50 gm
Preparation :
Clean and cook the shrimp with turmeric powder, little water and salt for 2 minutes. Keep aside and let it cool.
In a blender add coconut powder, coriander seeds and poppy seeds. Blend it to a fine powder and keep aside.
Now in a sauce pan add oil and let it heat. Once it's hot add all the spices mentioned and fry for 1 minute. Now add green chilli, onion and fry till onion turns golden brown. Now add ginger garlic paste and fry for a minute.
Add the cooked shrimp, coconut mixture powder and mix well for 1 minute.
In the sauce pan add 1 cup soaked rice and mix for a minute.
Now in the electric rice cooker add 1 1/2 cups water and let it heat for 2 minutes.
Transfer all the ingredients mixture from sauce pan to electric rice cooker and add coriander leaves, salt and let it cook.
Once cooked, garnish with more coriander leaves and sprinkle some lime juice for tanginess and extra taste.
