TATA has turn the tables with this DCA. Everyone were bit spectical about the DCA being offered with 1.2 NA .But after the test drive all doubts are cleared and everyone seems to be happy with the driveability. TATA has done the DCA synchronization in such a way that you don't feel lethargic. Well done TATA.

It makes sense. Lots of people saying that they should have offered Turbo engine with DCA. But how many people actually wants performance oriented car for their daily use... Most people buys automatic for comfort and ease of driving. Performance is the last thing most people wants.

Finally against all odds, TATA combined tha DCA with a NA engine which no one was expecting.

This can be a game changing transmission for tata Altroz

higher RPM पे आवाज ज्यादा करती है, सही बात है, पर कौन है वे लोग जो 5000-6000 rpm तक गाड़ी ले जाते हैं..ज्यादातर लोग 3000 आरपीएम तक गियर चेंज कर देते हैं...एक नार्मल तरीके से गाड़ी चलाने वालों के लिए 1no. गाड़ी है...एक शानदार लुक, और DCA गियरबॉक्स के साथ ये एक बेस्ट प्रीमियम हैचबैक बन जाती है.. Altroz is targeted for those customers who prefer safety over features and it has done well in the market. Ofcourse Baleno/Glanza and I20 are selling more because as you said correctly people want features over safety. Also in terms of features Altroz is not bad at all, it gives you most of the features like Cruise control, Automatic AC, Automatic Headlamps, Automatic Vipers, Rear AC and arm rest, Auto cornering stability, great boot space, awesome key functions (lock, unlock, boot open and follow-me lights), Harman Music system with 4 speakers and 4 tweeters (Awesome sound quality). I dont think i need anything else in a 5-star rated car as I believe life is much more important than 1 additional cylinder in the engine. :-)

I recently learnt that TATA goes with 3 cylinder engines because of their light weight nature compared to the 4 cylinders. The tata body shell is already very heavy so adding the heavier 4 cylinder engine will reduce the mileage of their cars significantly. So the choice is yours, whether you want to buy a safer car or better equiped NA engine.

Which one to buy? Tata altroz dca OR baleno 2022 AMT Petrol.. Suggestions please...

Perfect Review. This car delivers what its meant for .. smooth gearbox for city and able to cruise on highway. Perfect for families. Honda Amaze is apt competitor in 10L segment which is also 4* car. Baleno 2022 build quality has improved a lot with improved AMT, and tons of features. Somehow Altroz missed opportunity and should have added more bells and whistles to the car right from base variant. Aam janata wants features, you simply cant attract buyers just on 5* and DCA. Yeh hawa social media pr hi rah jati hai, doesnt transalate into actual sales.

Mere khyal se Tata ke turbo engine k sath DCA na launch krne ka reason turbo lag ko control na kr pana raha hoga kyunki cost ki bat rahi to log i20 13 lakh me bhi khreedte h To bo as an option de skte the !

There are lots of options in the market but... Altroz- engine refinement issue Baleno - still not sure about safety and same old design I20- overpriced and again not sure about safety Punch - engine not refined and looking at price does not feel premium It's sad that you will spend lakhs of money but nothing is close to perfect.. Any other cars we can consider please comment??

Wonderful review. I felt the same and highway stability is awesome. DCA here is wet clutch and hence there is need for oil change at some specific frequency. I have asked the owner's manual seems the online one is not updated and its last year version and couldnt find any kind of relevant video about this particular gearbox of Tata for repair. Any idea at what frequency this transmission oil change has to be done and I have high doubt about the expertise of the Tata's service technicians to handle these complicated things without any hassle.

I've worked closely with Tata group (higher management and even top management). Ethics which were there in JRD sir and even Ratan sir cannot be compared with current management. Current management is just trying to attract customers with good looks and variety of variants (which makes no sense cuz they're not reasonable at all). Please understand, desh ka loha is important but what's equally important is engine reliability and after sales. I would request buyers to please research before you put hard earned money in cars. Harrier when launched right from that time was my favourite and when it came to buying a new vehicle I was sure of harrier, but, once I researched, engine is sourced, gearbox is sourced then what's the point? Just for the sake of good looks why to spend more than 20 lacs? 5 star ncap n all books mein papers mein achcha lagta hai but when it comes to practicality, we're driving since the time when there were no airbags, no abs, no ebd nothing.. then why such hype on JUST safety?? Why not on interior quality, plastic and material used, engine sourcing, after sales?? Please research properly and then put your money else just buy a used car and drive it for better reliability. Iam sure this will hurt Tata fanboys but guys please understand it's your money and go for something that's actual value for money (no Maruti Suzuki please cuz they're nothing but pain in the wrong place). All the best for future purchase.

Petrol is 100 rs litre and my car only gives mileage 10 to 11, think wisely before investing money in cars. As it gets costlier in near future, ev cannot replace petrol and diesel cars easily. With more advancement, public needs to compensate.
