Bro, this is indeed THE BEST video I ever came across for a Nexon AMT🔥 I couldn't test drive any AMT from TATA as it's not available in my city and was so confused whether to take that risk of choosing an AMT without a test drive (I am pretty impressed with the manual transmission), but your video has provided more insights than I could gather from the test drive. I like this car, it has turbo engine, driving modes, good power and pick up and above all the safety features which are there from base model, and with all these price is also less as compare to other rivals.

Wonderful review 👍. Better than the big channels. The cornering hesitation should be minimal if you upgrade the tyres to grippier rubber.

If u r comfortable with the brand name and find them reliable (which a lot of customers have started feeling lately), Tata Nexon can be ur choice If not, Brezza is a wonderful package (especially for comfortable city drives) If u can tell me ur budget, I can compare even better Hope it helps!

The major difference between XM(S) and XMA is the transmission.......XM(S) is manual and XMA is automatic If u know driving, and u can manage with manual gearshifting in city traffic, XM(S) would make more sense for same money

Obviously, if u are comfortable with the manual transmission, u should go with XZ+(S) for additional features but almost same price

Great review! I can totally relate to what you had to offer, after shortlisting down to 2 cars- Nexon and Venue, I'm confused between Venue (DCT, Top Variant) and Nexon (AMT, Top Variant) both in Petrol. I've test-driven both the cars thrice for 20-25mins per drive, and agree to most of the points you mentioned, if not all. No car is perfect and you will have to be in terms with something or the other, the top things that I personally am confused about adjusting to in both the cars are- Nexon- 1. Will have to accept AMT lag. (as compared to Venue DCT) 2. Perception of Tata Motors in after-sales and life of the product- mainly because we are looking for a vehicle for long term (at least 15 years) for my soon to retire parents. (It will be helpful if someone helps me trust Tata based on their experience) 3. Less robust engine as compared to the Venue's 4. Risk of vibrations/rattling and engine becoming loud as the Nexon ages (Tata being Tata, looking for motivation and honest reviews that can help change my mind) Things to accept in Venue- 1. Less space. 2. Uncomfortable seats (especially on the back) 3. Very stiff suspension. 4. Venue doesn't give you the SUV-like feel. (We are downsizing from a humongous Scorpio, so y'all can take my word on this) I personally like Nexon more but the lack of trust factor with Tata, when compared to Hyundai, comes in between. What would you @Wahoo and other folks suggest? Do help, I appreciate it!

Thanks for watching the video...🙂 Congratulations for shortlisting 2 cars out of 8 available options in the segment🤪 Yes, no car ticks all checkboxes, you'll have to compromise on one thing or the other . Firstly, let's talk something in favour of Venue: 1. DCT and AMT are day and night apart in terms of experience (you know this very well now). 2. I agree that Hyundai is more relaible, if we consider the past of both brands. Yes, it may seem costly to own a Hyundai over time, but that comes at the cost of the better experience it offers. 3. Venue outperforms Nexon in terms of sales almost every quarter. If u take Sonet and Venue under same umbrella (as they are practically same cars with different skins), they can beat any other brand as of now. . Now that u have mentioned, u liked Nexon, let me dive into that: 1. Don't under-estimate the fact that it is a 5-star safety rated car, which will be a boon for any owner. 2. Ride handling and SUVish characteristics of Nexon are superb and even after having such a huge ground clearance, it stabilizes itself really well on a straight line run. 3. Nexon is one of the most value for money car in the segment, and leaves no stone unturned in terms of features as well. . So what is the problem finally? U like Nexon, but u are not confident on Tata, right? Well, a brand that can produce a 5-star safety rated car, a vibration free 3 cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, a full production ready electric version for same car, a spacious, practical and good looking compact SUV (and on top of that, a Low Asking Price as when compared with the competition).......is very much capable of providing a good long-term experience, when it comes to making a car . Tata has switched to impact 2.0 design language, and is now having a technological advantage of jaguar land rover with them.....they are doing everything to change their brand image from Indica to Altroz, Manza to Tigor, Sumo to Harrier, which can be gauged from Tata's sales jump of 108% from Nov'19 to Nov'20.....i think they have come very far while improving their products and i'm sure they will even surprise us further coming back to trust factor, i think u have to give time to Tata for proving their metal in the market . My Final Verdict: Don't sacrifice Nexon, just because u have lack of trust in Tata (i'm not against Venue, but Nexon is really a good product) . Hope it Helps🙂

@@WahooCars Thanks for this detail explanation. I am looking for a petrol automatic compact SUV. I am not considering DCT because of high maintenance and low fuel efficiency. Also I am a new driver so obviously will not drag race. I was thinking to buy SONET IMT but confused with Nexon AMT also just because of negative feedback of AMT ( jerk, lag etc. ). AMT in Diesel engines are good but not sure about petrol engine. Nexon is specious and stronger than SONET. It just the gear box that is creating confusion for me. Please help.

@Pratik Singh Again, iMT and AMT are not comparable.... iMT is another name for a clutchless manual, so it's not a automatic technically, u decide when to change the gears, meanwhile ECU takes care of clutch engagement and disengagement Even AMT is not a proper automatic under the hood, but it feels such coz we don't have to indulge into the hassle of clutch press and gear shifting As far as experience is concerned, AMT might feel laggy (or jerky while agressive pulling), but at the end of day, it promises that you don't need to take your hands off the steering wheel and left foot off the dead pedal If u are trying to go for iMT, my suggestion is take manual instead, it will give you a complete control over the car I personally don't like iMT (it's only suitable for newbies, who haven't practiced clutch and accelerator sync My final recommendation - Nexon AMT Hope it helps🙂

Nice review. I am new to driving and want to go for automatic. But the bad image AMTs have when i read online is making me slightly hesitant. Your video is giving me confidence but do you think i am going to miss anything as i am kind of new to driving cars and also is tata nexon AMT better than other AMTs ? Also does higher version of Nexon have better AMT experience or is it same across all versions?

AMT has 2 problems, one is the lag between gear changes (which is prevalent only on heavy acceleration in Nexon), other is jerky gear shifts (which is absent in Nexon to a great extent) . And take any car, only features gets upgraded as we move towards higher variants, the performance and ride handling remains the same, so AMT is same for base as well as the top variant . If u finalised Nexon AMT in ur mind, go ahead, u will love it . But a little advice from my side, as a new driver, firstly, you must learn to master manual transmission car (as manual gives a complete control over your car), later u may drive AMT or any other automatic for that matter . I am planning to buy this car. Short test drive did not reveal anything bad that gets projected in most you tube videos. With a reasonable light foot and city mode in 70% city and 30% highway can I expect a smooth drive without considerable head-nod?

Yes, u can switch to manual mode in AMT U can very well decide to shift gears at any RPM range......BUT......if u try to do something silly (be in 1st gear at 80kph or in 5th gear at 20kph), AMT takes the control temporarily

i agree that AMTs are usually jerky and laggy but their performance has improved over time and in Nexon especially, i didn't find any significant jerk (although considerable lag is still there).

@Surya Prakash Garisetti Yes, overtaking is a tricky part in any AMT car cause it takes a while to respond to a sudden throttle But then u have the option to switch to the manual mode and drive it accordingly

I'll not call it jerky, but yes, gear changing lag can be felt About the head nod, that's when I was very agressive on the accelerator (due to initial pick-up of car)

ohhh after digging up to the bottom finally found the g8 one. first of all thanks for the content and video, i loved it ! just require your suggestion for my confusion----- i am a NRI, i visit india 3 times in india alteast. we want to choose a good family car where we can njy our long journey rides. currently we own wagon r and though we had travelled alot in that, but as more my parents planing to shift in india, i think to own other car for there comfort. my father also loves to drive long distances so as considering his age and health factor i want any auto transmission. we had planned for nexon but very setbacks i had found on youtube about after sales services of tata other than nexon product. my friends circle suggested me to buy sonet where they talk about looks, prestige and luxury and had confused me. features 90% people are talking sonet is richer, but i dont understand how people terms sonet feature full if we compare nexon xz+s and sonet htx. if one writes comparision on paper between both they can tick mark anytime what nexon gives. and prestige is like people will say aaah see you got foreign company car ! its lame where no1 is going to pay for my safety ! so moving on sonet wins in after sales services and relabilty ! i want to buy xza+s petrol , can u please review tata services? availabilty of spare parts in service centers and after market ? where tata is economical or kia ?
