It makes sense that you would think a few songs sounds unfinished, it wasn’t meant to be released til next year but her label gave her two weeks notice that it would drop on this date and needed to be done within two weeks as soon as she got off tour.
@@riderghost2623 It’s this interview with Tom Power: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ks16aJMx-Z4.htmlsi=hbrhDwE-reEk6kN4 Around the 18 Minute Mark, they truly could’ve waited til the top of next year but it’s ok. The industry can be really messy.
@@riderghost2623yeah i think she said it in like a Vogue interview i’ll try to find a link but she probably planned on releasing after the holidays and having “exes” having a longer 2nd single promo period between releasing the full album but she said with the success of greedy, her label pushed her release back
@@simonsbookshelf ohhh ok that actually makes a lot of sense the way the album was released does feel a little rushed it still an amazing album tho but I feel like if they give her more time she couldn’t polished it more. But I can understand why they would want to capitalize on her success with greedy it sounds smart honestly I really hope this album gets at least a top 10 debut on the hot 200.
I’m sorry but why did that sing along SLAP! My favourite damn part. I loved this entire video. Tate’s amazing, her album’s amazing, and you’re amazing ❤️❤️
There was defintely growth between her first album and this one. Her first album was all over the place sonically and had receptive lyrical themes. This album also has repetive themes but for some reason it works better here, maybe because there's a clear sound so it feels like a continuation of the same story. Also, the concept of think later was fully fleshed out. It's clear that she lived more spontaneously and had to deal with the repercussions, but the concept behind her first album "i used to think i could fly" - the idea of loss of fearlessness as she grew up - only comes across in one or two songs.
I really appreciate your reaction. The pros & cons, the breakdowns, and your honest opinion on each song. Plastic palm tree was probably my favorite off the album lol. But Tate has grown so much in my opinion since her freshman album. Lyrically, vocally, melodically, etc. I feel like she definitely tried some new sounds so that was refreshing to hear. 🫶🏾❤️
definitely enjoyed our karaoke session at the beginning!!! my current favs in no particular order 1. run for the hills 2.guilty conscience 3. exes 4. calgary 5.greedy 6.messier
The title track had nothing to do with the song Jada. It’s not a sample or anything like that, it’s just got that same melody within the production. It’s a completely original song from Tate
Actually the album was not supposed to be released now It was actually supposed to be released next year but her label forced her to release it on dec 8 and gave her just 2 weeks to complete right after her tour probably became greedy was climbing the charts I think thats why it feels kinda incomplete but personally I really liked this album and didn't feel like it was rushed for me
Yeah I agree. I looove run for the hills and grave so much, but I feel that she could’ve fleshed out a second proper verse for both of them - this goes for another few songs on her album too. But yes I love her and it’s awesome!
this reaction is great !! i love the constructive criticism you give and as a tate fan for so long i respect some feedbacks. the song "messier" oh i COMPLETELY agree with what you said , i didn't think she would have the chorus that way. she's teased a little bit of that song last year on a live and I'm glad she ended up adding this song but it definitely could've had the chorus just as the way you said it!
If u like the songs like messier but without that ier ier holding out thingy there’s definitely a couple of good songs on her first album that are probably a bit better then messier that have DEEP meanings that are super super GOOD! Id say like Go Away and Boy x are the best on her first album.
this is the first vid of yours i’ve seen and honey, i immediately subscribed. your personality and dissections of these songs are *chef’s kiss*. thank you for this reaction!!!
For the title track “think later” the song resembles or used Ariana grandes scrapped song “jada” or better known as (im pretty sure was confirmed to actually be called) “like that” which think later sounds really similar too Like that has leaked so you can compare the two (the one u listened to in the vid was a cover of what we essentially thought the song was like before it ended up getting leaked)
Subscribed! cuz you are really objective with your feedback and opinion. I really like this album by Miss Tate and just like you I know her from the "You Broke My First" days, but haven´t been fucking with her for a long time. And I am glad I do now. This is a mature album with toxic traits, honest writing, and diverse vocal delivery. In live performances, the feedback is always to stop relying on backtracks and continue training her voice to make it stronger and shine through. She is 20 and she will continue evolving and changing. I am excited about that.
the think later similarities to how i look on you by ariana grande (which is an officially released song) is exactly what i was thinking. The melody sounds too similar to not be inspired by it
I totally get what you’re saying about to repeating parts of words, but from an observer standpoint I think she does it so that when she performs it live, she has that little dance break without actually missing words. If that makes sense
There are 5 strong songs and the rest sound like compressed, unfinished demos. Grave or Hills are her best shot for the third single. I like her but I always wish she just did a few things differently but that’s fine as long as she’s happy!
