A good review here mate. I have a 💩load of Trangia gear. All round bulletproof stuff it Must be said. I think they are all very much a muchness tbh. Obviously Tatonka cannot copy the Trangia design so it appears they have done a pretty good job with what they have produced The Tatonka kits are relatively rare, what with Trangia dominating the market I am going to invest in a Tatonka and give it a go 👊👊💥💥👊👊 One can never have too many metho stoves after all 😆

I really like the military trangia I have the aluminium and a stainless set the pot sizes are great for my style of camping 🏕

the little cut out in the base section is to let out the hose from the gas conversion kit there is a Chinese no name version available for about one third of cost of Trangia

50€ for a knockoff. yeah and it comes with a bigger billy pot, IIRC. I wouldn't trust that though, the aluminum might be bad quality (mixed with led)

Wish I'd kept my Tatonka tbh - many videos on Trangia convinced me change over and I have regretted it. See also another vid on the guy testing both in very low temps!

Informative comparison. The Tatonka burner would avoid burning and scorching due to the lower heat output and be useful in cooking. If you want faster boil and fry-up’s; run the Trangia burner in the Trangia Triangle on the side. PS, the Trangia pan stand makes an excellent trivet for the triangle for smaller pots and cups - just make sure rest each of the 3 central Hoz. bars of the stand in/onto the semi-circular cutouts of the “upright tabs” of the Triangle sides - it does work. Bonus - the stand fits inside the Triangle storage bag. :D

I on sold my trangia triangle because it didn't work with the small pots I often use and now regret that move I made a pan stand that fits the trangia 25 and 27 Series stove out of some stainless steel mess works very well regards Mike

@rajeevprasad3711 2 года назад
@@kisbushcraftdownunder The Triangle is back in production with a redesigned ring - all else is same. I ordered one off the Trangia site about 2 weeks ago and received here in OZ about week and a bit later. It's out of stock again - just gotta keep checking - must be doing small batches and getting sold quick.... It's ones individual call if they can justify the cost. If you do decide get one again; make sure to get the pan stand as well - that will allow you to use smaller pots and cups.👍

Interesting comparison. Tatonka for the low and low cook 🙂 Trangia for quick brew and fry up😊 ?

I had high hopes for the Tatonka burner I glad I didn’t buy new
@JochenSteglich

With the Tatonka, the pot sits too close to the burner. To shorten the cooking time, you just have to bend the last piece of the pot support upwards. This saves several minutes of cooking time.

Thanks for the feedback I will have a look at mine I was a bit surprised by how slow it was most alcohol stoves have a sweet spot in the distance away from the burner. It surprises me the fry pan on the Trangia works so well so far from the burner regards Mike

@cpcnw 7 дней назад
@@kisbushcraftdownunder This is also a downfall of many Triangia Triangle copies. You can used them with a Trangia burner as in the 'it fits' but the distance is too close and it seems to reduce the efficiency.

Tatonka appears to be more expensive as well?
@kisbushcraftdownunder
@kisbushcraftdownunder 2 года назад
In Australia the Tatonka retails about $120 AU and the trangia $160 for the base model

Snowys has got the 25-1 listed at $109.90 at the moment. They are my normal go to for this type of thing. Couldn’t find Tatonka multi-set online for anything near that. I had thought that if the Tatonka set was significantly cheaper that it would be worthwhile to simply upgrade by replacing the OEM burner with a Trangia burner. I think I will just stick with my Trangia.

@@SebastianDeBeer the only advantage would be the stainless steel pots the trangia duosal are great a combo of aluminium outside and stainless inside saw a couple of pots on EBay $56! Each

For me in Portugal it’s definitely be the case. 25 goes for 60 and the Tatonka for 110 only place I can find it. Luckily I can buy the trangia for the better burner and the Tatonka pot set for 40.

So would a non stick fry pan for the trangia 25 fit properly as a lid on one of the Tatonka kits stainless steel pots?
@impermanenthuman8427
@impermanenthuman8427 7 месяцев назад
Also can just the stainless Tatonka pots be bought separately if you already have a full trangia 25 (aluminum) set but want the more fireproof stainless Tatonka pot and also pan (if wanting to use pan on open fire), and also does the trangia gas burner all drop straight into the Tatonka windshield if you wanted to? Basically are they dimensionally an identical clone of each other? 😆
@kisbushcraftdownunder

It would fit as a lid on the pots and with the stove packed up but its a little to big for the Tatonka pot support legs when in fry pan mode (won't sit flat )
