I’m super grateful to everyone who got the smallpox vaccine! I had risk factors for adverse reaction to the shot as a child, and because everyone else had gotten the vaccine, my doc told my mom she could skip it for me.

Patty - I got mine around 69-70 as well, but never got a permanent scar. I still have my childhood medical record of vaccines so I know I got it.

Same here. They came to the schools and you had no choice. But it was a deadly (DEADLY) disease. And the vaccine actually prevented you from getting it. Unlike the current situation.

She had three actually but Allen was the absolute love of her life. She never remarried after he died of stomach cancer, she often said she wasn’t afraid of death because she’d see him again and allegedly her publicist indicated her last word was Allen ❤️

Definitely the smallpox vaccine. Generations of us have them, but the disease was completely wiped out by 1980, and the vaccine was deemed unnecessary.

Anyone who had a smallpox vaccine knows exactly which vaccine they are talking about. Mine is on the back of my right shoulder, and has faded quite a lot now that I am past 50.

Smallpox vaccine. The only reason I didn’t take it is because the rest of the world cooperated in the vaccination program. I had risk factors to the vaccine, and my doc told my mom she could skip it for me since the disease was pretty much gone. I’m super grateful to everyone who took that vaccine and try to pay it forward by getting annual flu shots and taking the COVID vaccine.

@@MrsWheezer It's too bad some people are just to selfish. Like in thinking the virus has tracking robots in the Covid-19 vaccine. People do not understand that the vaccine is there to keep you from getting real sick and maybe keep you out of the ground. But some are just so scared that they are willing to try Witch Doctor cures to help them. And with all medications, there are risks involved. No matter what you are taking.
