The one about red ink causing allergic reactions is not completely untrue. To this day, there are red inks that contain nickel, which a lot of people are allergic to - but obviously most red inks don't contain It anymore, and it's extremely easy to just tell the artist to use a nickel-free red (which he/she probably does already, because what artist want to cause allergic reactions to clients, ruining their tattoos and making them unhappy?).

Hi Barbara, love your vids. About the red inks, it most likely depends on its quality because red usually takes components that cause allergies, not only reds put its derived colours as well. I've met quite a few people that have had problems with it on their tattoos. But that is applicable to makeup as well. Like you said, products are getting better.

Livia Bortolai yes, I agree, and this is what I wanted to tell but got a blank in my head.

The myth about a tattoo disappearing after about 2 years *could* be true. I remember this very well during the white tattoo craze. I think that is what you are remembering - but forgetting the "all white" part. There was a period (it was like 10 - 15 years ago?) where all-white tattoos were the cool thing to get and were touted as not really being permanent because white does tend to fade really quickly. They were also not very visible (especially on pale skin) - so they were much easier to hide from parents. However, white ink can also turn a bit yellow (or sometimes tan-ish, depending on the person and the ink) - so then that may not fade. Also, there could be some all white tattoos that really last a long time!

Is it true that you can’t get an MRI scan if you have a tattoo?
@StudioVibe

I know this is older but it's not true. They just have to be aware of it because some tattoo inks contain metals and MRIs contain really strong magnets. They will ask you if you have them on the paperwork, just in case, but you can get one.

You can get an MRI scan with tattoos. The only tattoos that can be risky are really old tattoos because of the ink that was used (my dad got a scan with 35 year old tattoos and it went fine, so not all old tattoos are a problem). And you can’t get a scan with circle tattoos.

My only red tattoo is my only tattoo that gave me a reaction. Could be coincidence, but I dunno.

I heard from an artist in the town as I used to live in that the pigments in red and yellow ink are the ones that most commonly cause reactions, though I still wouldn't call it common. It's just slightly more probable, from what I heard.
