Art-Something love the channel I just started up tattooing in December and I love it and can’t stop thinking about it my only problem I am having is keeping the stencil I seen lots of videos of people dabbing each line after the do it or applying a little Vaseline before doing a line and wiping down and I have tried all these techniques it still lose the stencil every time please help how can I do my outline and wipe without losing my stencil it’s the most nerve racking part of the tattoos I do worrying about losing the stencil please help
Hey mate Long time artist and sometimes scratcher (lol) here. love your work and your channel is great, you break everything down to its fine details which most channels dont seem to do i find it easier to follow your tutorials then anyone elses. And its given me new inspiration to carry on, and get better at something that i actually have a passion for, thank you. Q: do you have sterilisation procedures in place, or is everything done with disposable products, and safety protocols?
@@wzkydelta6825 That's awesome to hear Ward!! Glad your back at it. Yes I use all disposable products. I find it more convenient that way. I have plans to make a video addressing this however it may be a few vids from now as I have some other videos currently in the works. But i will certainly get to that for sure. Thanks again Ward and and stay positive, best of luck to you my friend!! 🤘🤘
I’ve been tattooing for about 3 years now, I just want to say you’re a great guy lol. Usually tat artists are very stuck up and intimidated by further competition, that they wouldn’t make videos like this. And I see you encouraging people in the comments who are interested. You’re awesome man!
Wow thank you sooo very much for the kind words!! 🙏 And yes I am hoping together we can all help move the tattoo industry to a more friendly and transparent place so that more amazing artist out there can flourish and use the natural talents god gave them. Thank you soo much again I truly appreciate you !!!!! 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Hey man I’m a big fan of your channel! I recently got a job at a tattoo supply company. I’m quite interested in expanding my network with tattoo artists globally

everyone’s always told me i draw real nice and i should start tattooing , i was scared at first only because i didn’t want to be responsible for someone’s messed up tattoo. but i’m going to practice and get supplies . thank you for motivating me!
That’s great to hear because that’s all you need to do is practice practice practice. Get pretty comfortable with your machine and fruit and what not. Then when you’re comfortable tattoo something small on your leg to see how it really feels after you’re comfortable with the machine. I have a video showing how I set up and tear down my equipment I encourage you to check that out as well so that you can stay safe while you’re learning. Thanks again my friend so happy to hear that the videos are motivating you!! Keep rocking 🤘🤘🤘🤘
you're the real INKmaster! Not just showing us your work, BUT showing us all the how-to and all the dos and don'ts. Massive gratitude towards you and best of wishes to you and your loved ones!
I'm a traditionally trained artist, and I've recently found an interest in moving to tattoos. Your videos are very insightful. I guess it's just a matter of buying a kit and getting started.
Thats Awesome Vince happy to hear you want to take your art to skin. And yeah it is pretty much a matter of buying a kit and start practicing. The more you practice before you hit skin the better off you will be. I have a tattooing fruit video that may help you out, its in my tattoo play list. Thanks Vince Best of luck to you on your journey!! 🤘🤘
@@beliciagallimore2007 ive been wondering the same thing and my research is telling me the "dragonhawk- mast" is a great beginners kit, with a machine comparable to the top quality pro machines, at a fraction of the price. A do everything rotary
@@1bwobs742 I just got this machine this week! Good to hear! I have 9 tattoos, 9 artists, and planning on being my number 10 😁 I'm excited to start, but watching lots of videos first
As traditionally trained oil painter and ceramics artist, its hard for me to say screw the tradition of apprenticeship. It seems though, through my own experience of seeking our a apprenticeship it's much more appeasing the gate keepers into the "cool kids club" Fuck it bro, as a artist once you have taken the time to become intimate with your gear I'm sure you will pump out killer work.
@Art-something I am a traditionally trained artist. I specialize in ceramics and oil painting. Been professionally painting for over 10years and have been making art for over 20. I've wanted to tattoo for years and could never find a apprenticeship. I finally found one and after 4 months of being at the shop nonstop I had 1) learned not a damn thing and 2) got kicked to the curb with no justification. Coming from the time I spent getting my fine art degree and whatnot I had a very strong sense of respect for the tradition. I have sense been working on abolishing that mind set to move forward with getting kit and teaching my self. If we look back on art history a large percentage of celebrated "Masters" have all abandoned the traditional forms of learned and forged their own path. I'm thankful to people like you who advocate for the self taught, and help them. In a culture that is so "anti" and rooted in rebellion and counter culture, who celebrate the unique and freaks, the black sheep of society, it came as a huge shock of hypocrisy that self taught are bad but some how prison tattooers are okay. Make your own path and stay the course. Thank you sir for your guidance, I greatly appreciate your sharing of information.
Haha haha sooooooo true man they are hard to find right now. I just ordered 5 new boxes but f##ked up and ordered small so that sucks lol. But yeah bad timing on the gloves. Thanks for watching Indigo much appreciated 🤘🤘
@@ArtSomething mannnnn...I could really use those smalls!! Having a hard time finding any right now. Child size hands trying to do a tattoo w/ extra glove on my finger tips just doesn't cut it lol
You helped me ALOT! My boyfriend wants to start tattooing & I’m surprising him with what he needs for his birthday & you just basically gave me everything I needed. Thank you.
Since started tattooing its been 2 years and after checking out your classes am becoming a great tattoo artist you are a great teacher and i wannna be the best in my region in tanzania people do love my work after watching your youtube channel thank you and be blessed 🙏
@Good Deal Dave No of course I dont flush coffee filters . After I wipe I let them dry and use them to brew coffee for my coworkers and then I dispose as usual
Just decided to take up tattooing. Always had a natural talent for drawing.. so I came onto RU-vid hoping to find good videos and found yours. Withing 3 videos I already feel enlightened. There's so much more to learn. Thank you! These videos will really help me when I don't want to ask for help for the basic stuff.
Thank you for not scrutinizing people if they start by themselves! Your one of the only channels I even subscribe to you have no idea how helpful you really are
I'm just getting started . Still in the practice skin. Got a little discouraged but thanks to good and honest people as yourself, I can keep my focus on the basics first. The rest will come with a little help from you guys and more importantly a lot of patience from me. Thanks man. You are doing a great service for the future of the tattoo industry. Again I thank you my friend.
Dude your channel is awesome. My 15 y/o niece has wanted to be a tattoo artist since she was like 11, she can draw her butt off. I just bought her a Mast cordless machine for her to start practicing until she’s old enough to apprentice, wasn’t sure what else she needed until now. Thanks a lot man.
Just bought my first tattoo gun gets here on Friday, my tattoo artist encouraged me to give it a shot and told me to watch your videos so glad she did you are so informative, got yourself a new subscriber !!
You got me hooked man, always wanted to get into but never had the confidence or motivation. I just got my first rotary style machine today with a bunch of supplies and I'm giving it a shot. Thank you, truly.
You are the best! I started drawing about 8years ago when my uncle passed away. I wanted to become a tattoo artist about 5 years ago. And since I could never afford a tattoo apprenticeship I gave that dream up. I have now gotten me a rotary machine and started to tattoo because of your videos. Thank you so much for these informative videos :)
found your links searching. I have been drawing and painting my entire life. just getting started and took a dive and bought some equipment. haven't done any ink yet, still practicing and doing sketches and stencils, researching technique and styles. I really enjoy your channel and information. I appreciate the time and effort.
No problem Anthony Im glad you found the channel and are enjoying it!! Congrats on the new equipment and I wish you the best of luck as you start down this amazing journey!! Keep at it and Keep Rocking!!! 🤘🤘🤘
Only 3 min in and I already know I like you and thank you! I'm and artist, have designed a million tattoos, been offered an apprenticeship twice, but it wasn't until recently that my life as been positioned to consider tattooing. And since I coincidentally inherited a full set of equipment, I'm taking it as a sign! Apparently the gods want me to learn
Just a little something I do, I keep my Vaseline container with a broken plastic spoon in it, when I prep (before skin is broken) I scoop out a glob with the back and put it on to my cling wrap and then put the spoon back. Again, this is after prev tattoo mess is cleaned, everything is sanitized, hands washed, and placed on a clean piece of cling wrap.
Getting ready to retire from the Corps, and this is something I've always wanted to do. Work keeps me busy, but this channel inspired me to get back into tattooing. Great stuff, looking forward to more videos. S/F
Congrats on the approaching retirement!! Glad to hear your looking to get back into tattooing!! Wish you the best of Luck on your new chapter of life and Semper FI Brother!! 🤘🤘
thank you so much for these videos im really young and ever since 8th grade i’ve decided i wanted a career in tattooing i have a tattoo kit to practice with because currently i haven’t found any places to take apprenticeships at meaning i don’t wanna half ass this and i need extra help so i don’t develop bad habit and i wing a lot of things but i would rather not wing this. this is extremely helpful coming from someone you’ve never met thank you for taking time to show all of us how to do this correctly you’ve no idea how much this has already helped me and i’ve literally only watched two of your videos
I love you man, I remember joining a tattoo group asking for help and getting trolled causing me to not be confident i could do tattoos anymore, but seeing your vids has gave me the confidence i need to pull my pen back out and give it another go
I have been tattooing on and of for a few years but only recently really dedicating more time to it. I have always loved drawing and though this would be a great way to incorporate something I love. I have been tattooing myself after practicing on fake skin. I am absolutely obsessed with tattoo g right now .
Omg, you are amazing. I’m so glad I’ve found this channel! Tattooing is sooo gate kept ( coming from someone who has had an apprenticeship for a couple of years now, and has been taught next to nothing) now, due to the pandemic, I’ve started slowly purchasing supplies and have come around to the idea of practicing on fake skin at home (my flat mate has a ‘dragon hawk’ coil tattoo machine) then myself, then any willing friends (a lot of people have been asking me to tattoo them for years, I’ve been drawing all my life - school, college and university...) in an attempt to just teach myself. The thing is, at least in the UK where I am, people who want to teach themselves how to tattoo are referred to as ‘scratchers’ and really looked down upon... (if the shop that I work at were to ever find out that I was practicing at home - even just on fake skin, I don’t think they’d ever let me even walk back through the door) seeing people share this knowledge, especially when it comes to health and safety, can surely only raise the bar for all tattooers?! Why wouldn’t we want that for our industry?! Love it. Gosh, sorry for the mini essay man XD 🤙🏼
I agree idk why we keep the secrets under lock and key. I’m just happy to share what little I know about tattooing with those who want to know or learn. And thank you very much for your support it’s much appreciated!! 🤘🙏🤘
I started 2 months ago and decided to follow you when I looked here on youtube for videos, now I got all the stuff in this vid, the greensoap makes things a hell of a lot more easier! (Im practicing on my own legs, Im typing this just to make sure no one thinks that I tattoo people without proper equipment) Thanks for your videos!
Seem like a sweet and humble guy I thank you for the info I’m not artist but most tattoo artists don’t want to give me the tats I want (I like them simple and all over the place) so I bought a cheap gun and some supplies I’m gonna practice on my legs!
Great to hear you want to practice and your legs are a great place to do that. It’s probably gonna be best to start on like a fruit or something like that just to get familiar with the machine. But small pieces on your leg is a great place to start. I wish you nothing but the best as you continue down this journey. 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Have more than one machine ready. If one breaks down mid tattoo .... that will suck. Have a back up plan for everything. Plan B has saved asses from the beginning of time
Getting started in the tattoo world. Came across your vids today and love the content!! Was pleasantly surprised to see the Marine Corps stuff on your walls in this video! Fellow Jarhead here. Semper Fi brother
Very helpful information and tips. Thanks ! I just got my tattoo pen and fake skins to just practice for now. I’ll def come back to view this video again.
In my opinion when wrapping the armrest its better to use the bigger plastic wrap and start by placing it on the top first and then wrap once or twice all around the eddges so the back of it will be exposed. When cleaning up you basicaly just take it from the back and peal it off without having to mess with all the conterminated foil.
I haven't been tattooing for very long and I was struggling with lighting and I had never thought of using a headlight! Thank you so much for taking the time to do this video. Seriously so helpful!
Just started learning about tattooing and I’m glad I found your videos, I love how you incorporate your military mindset whilst teaching how to tattoo, just makes it easier for me to learn
"uh, the reason I call it sports-wrap is because I believe that's what it's called." Awesome. Great vids and a welcome distraction from COVID-19 incarceration!
Thanks for making these! I'm getting my first machines this month and having a whole laid out explanation like this is awesome :) Going to keep using your reference as I practice on some fake skin !
i have watched all of your videos multipul times now and i can say i learn something everytime xD wether its hand movements or how to make things easier xD your a great guy keep up the work !!!
I’ve been looking into start tattooing and finally gave in and bought a ton of stuff and it’s literally almost everything he mentioned 😳, hope it goes well ,lol
That's awesome Angel! I would say the MOST important thing you can do is practice a lot before touching your own skin. Take your time and enjoy the journey!! 🤘🤘
This is amazing, man. Been watching a bunch of your videos in preparation for my tattoo machine coming in soon. Body art has always been a wonder to me and I’ve only ever thought of going to a parlor but I’m so excited to put my own hand and designs all over me. Thanks for your extremely professional and helpful guides. Love the vids. And by the way, your beard is actual art. 10/10.
I'm happy to hear these videos are helping you get prepared to take the plunge into tattooing and all that goes into it. And the beard thanks you my friend LOL!! 🤘🤘
LOVING the help! Thank you. One suggestion. No latex! Your koflex wrap and gloves would literally kill me. Maybe just mention latex free for people like me?

Thank you so much for your videos! You explain things so well and edit your videos in a fun way. They have been very helpful to me. Keep up the great work 🖤
I came across your videos while needing green soap information. Straight to the point(with humor) Thanks for sharing! btw caption correction "heavily" . ;)
First I wanna say great video, fun and entertaining to watch. Great information. I 've been drawing all life and just ordered my first machine. Digital powered pen. I will be watching all your videos and practicing like crazy asap. Thanks for the help!
No problem Edgar and thank you it’s my pleasure! I’m just happy you guys are enjoying the videos and learning from them!!🤘🤘 and congrats on the new equipment keep rocking Edgar you got this🤘🤘
So helpful!! Thank you. My sister did some ugly stick and pokes she wants me to fix. I’ve been learning for months to prepare to actually put something on human skin 😂
Thanks for the videos man I’m just getting into learning the world of tattooing, it’s been an aspiration of mine since I was a literal kid hahah and just wanted to say you’re making the process a lot easier on myself man 🙏
