HOW TO TATTOO FAKE SKIN for beginners. In todays tattoo tattoo tutorial we will be going over how to tattoo fake skin. Specifically we will be going over how to line fake skin while using the CNC Q2 short pen. I will let you know what voltages and needles I use and when I use them. In a future video we will go over how to shade fake skin. Tattooing fake skin can be tricky and for that reason it's important to take your time and focus on each line you make. Don't worry about how long it takes you to complete a piece just focus on doing the best job you can. I hope you all enjoy the video and thank YOU for watching!! 🤘🤘

Art-Something hey man I have two questions, one actually pertaining to tattooing lol, so when you are switching between your needle sizes do you use a new needle every time, throwing out the one you just used, or do you have three different machines all set up with a specific needle that you can pick up when you need it? Ive never seen an artist switch needles so often before, at least on me personally, Question #2 is simply where did you get your shirt because it’s badass!
@ArtSomething
@ArtSomething 4 года назад
@@venessaallaby-thompson8352 I use the same 3 needles throughout the entire lining of the tattoo. I used 3, 5 and 9 round liners. I did not open a new needle every time I switched. I just popped one cartridge out and another in as I needed them. I hope this helps man. I Honestly dont know where I got this shirt lol. Thanks for watching brother and stay safe!! 🤘🤘

@@ArtSomething Really!?! I can't stand using cartridges at all. The amount of wrap I use to increase the sharpness of my lines and to keep my hand from cramping alone has kept me away from tattoo pens. I also like to fiddle around with machine setups depending on the driving force to speed ratio. Something I don't quite grasp about rotary setups. I get that adjusting the voltage can increase or decrease speed, but how do you control the driving pressure behind those needles? To me, each machine having it's own job and set up is like choosing the right paintbrush. The gauge being the grouping and the coils being the bristle density. (Kind of...) If the world could give me the freedom of wireless and let me stick to coils, maybe then I'd be able to say the same thing. I know it's a matter of preference, yet my OCD will keep me wired to anything I understand in full mathematical conception.

I want to go in for a real apprenticeship someday soon, but even simply asking questions i get shut down. Your videos have taught me a lot, im glad i found your channel! Nice video brother! For what it's worth, when one of my apprentices want to practice on "fake skin" the one thing I tell them is to approach it like real skin. What I mean by this is USE your 3 point stretch as though it's real skin and always keep cross-contamination in mind. I see so many fake skin videos where they don't mimic these very important techniques and practices. I understand you don't have to stretch the fake stuff, but to instill good tattooing techniques and practices imo one should still act as though they are tattooing the real deal! This will hopefully not lend itself to picking up "bad" habits and carrying them over to real people. Btw, your line work is clean and crisp my friend:) Keep on keeping on!! Cheers

These videos are so helpful, thank you. I grew up with my father (and grandmother) tattooing from home and always wanted to learn (and get my own tats). My dad bought me a machine and was going to finally do my first tattoo (teaching me in the process) but then Covid happened and I've just had my kit sitting in the closet waiting to be used. Hopefully with all the information I learn from these videos (I'm gonna watch the rest) I can successfully start tattooing on fake skin and move to the real thing! Hate not having my dad around to practice on after the fake stuff lol

Hey , I`v been practicing on synthethic for a while now . Personally I use wet tissue to clean the skin , even after I am finished with my linework . I apply petrolium gel before I tattoo and after because it makes the cleaning process much better . For synthethic skin the best I`v used are the ones that are a bit thick , 3mm < because they are more dense and higher quality . They are more expensive but the hole experience it`s worth it . I love your videos man , very informative !

@TraceursMonkey
@TraceursMonkey 3 года назад
@@ilonahaanstra4360 First you start tattooing from bottom . Second thing you must let the stencil completley dry so when you whipe there is no chance that it comse off . A well dry stencil usually resistes even if you wash the area. If you tattoo on practice skin use the hair dryer to speed up the process . When whipeing simply and gently dab the are where you tattooed and not the hole design you your stencil dose not come off.

I’m thinking about tattooing as a medium just because it’s 2022 and I can. I don’t really know if I want to tattoo people but I like it as an art medium for my type of drawings. Love the fake skin.

Hey man I just started watching your vids and I luv them. I’m a student artist and I’m looking to add tattooing as just a side hobby to put under my belt. I’ve been looking at different kits to start off with but I don’t know half of what I’m looking at 😂😂😂 so I told myself I’d watch a bunch of vids to kinda catch me up. Idk why I thought it was just vibrating pen with ink on the tip. I obviously never really looked at the doohickey

Old vid, I know, but thank you... It's intimidating to try learning in a culture that largely shuns beginners. I've heard so much against learning on fake skin, not having a traditional apprenticeship, etc. but then not enough of them can or want to teach! Many tattooists don't like my social, chatty nature (I'm autistic) so it's a tough industry to get my foot in the door with... So thank you for helping me learn.

just invested in my first setup. spent about 250 on everything with fake skin. I don't intend to work on real skin (other than my own lol) anytime soon so this really helps me.

F%@k man, I learn 80% on youtube, so many bad, so hard to find the good.. You are a great artist and a great teacher! Really thank you, you make it easy... practice, practice... you give confidence! ( to whom you don't even know). You turn complex into basic and give courage for people to try! IT IS ALL ABOUT LEARNING and practice, and you made the learning simple. steps. practice. take your time. I've trained people at many jobs, with you being the Boss and you are, you still respect the lil people!!! THANKS MUCH, I can't tell you how great you are as a human being!

I agree, cantaloupe is best to practice on. I was curious about an avocado. I know it would be a little hard to see a stencil since its dark.

big fan of your videos and how to's. i know this video is older but you spoke of ways to remove the extra ink from the fake skin. I found the a Mr.Clean Magic Eraser worked very well and no wait time to see finished work. Thanks for sharing your knowledge!

Someone on TikTok suggested wd40 for the left over stencil. I had to quit an apprenticeship that I was in due to management. Your videos have been helping me so much. They’ve helped me realize that it’s more about taking you’re time then rushing into it. My last mentor had me in the skin 1-2 months after learning, even after I told him I wasn’t ready. Thank you for helping me realize that these things take time and there’s so need to rush. If you ever do zoom apprenticeships I would love to be a part of them. Thank you, you’re the man

Liked and subscribed as soon as the "You got this!" text popped up. Thanks for willingly sharing your knowledge with an awesome attitude. The industry can be so intimidating with hazing mentality. If people will find a way to learn, why not give them a healthy head start with all the best info!

Thank you sooo much for the support and I truly believe anyone who is willing to work hard has got this!! Yes the industry can be intimidating but I am trying to break the walls down on that part of things by not hiding things. And also allowing other artists who want to help have a platform to do so. Its for that reason we started having guests on the live streams. So I hope you stick with channel and dont quit, keep at it and keep Rocking!!!! 🤘🤘🤘
