You could not pay me enough (see disclaimer below) to be a canvas on Ink Master. Artists are making skull picks with the goal of tripping up other artists and you're who they're trying to trip them up on. It's like walking into a shop, telling them what you want and they say "well Joe over there is the worst at that so he's your man". Disclaimer: the phrase "you couldn't pay me enough" is an idiomatic expression. If you don't understand that then I can't help you.

Forgive me if I'm wrong but isn't the first rule of tattoos is to make the customer happy with the tattoo? They might not be what the challenge was called for but the customer is happy

That's all fine and all but in a competition, there's challenges for a reason. This isn't about what makes the customer happy, it's about who can tattoo the best. If they went by, oh well, the customer was happy, then that wouldn't really be fair. Someone with a shit tattoo can still be happy about it in the moment, we have seen it before and just look at the Ink Master Redemption. And they aren't customers, they are just canvases. People who volunteered their body for the competition. People who listen to their canvases usually end up on the chopping block. Now, if you're talking about shops, obviously it's about making the customers happy. That;s just not the point of this show and why they don't take that into consideration. A lot of good tattooers would have been gone way too early if they judged based on how happy they are.

@@ragnaricstudios5888 I don't know who or what rando is, but there's no model who would put their skin on the line for a tattoo that could be fucked up. They interview people to see who would be a good fit for the show. Also there's no such thing as a tattoo model. Not once did I ever see a male or female model going down the runway with tats. And they need enough skin that's NOT covered so getting a tattoo model. which I'm thinking that it's someone covered in tats, wouldn't be able to go to the competition. These people who are on the show just want their 15 minutes of fame and to get on TV and don't care that they might get a shitty tattoo. They are NOT clients, they are just people wanting a free tattoo. Besides, if I was a model, I wouldn't risk putting my skin on the line for a tattoo that might turn out shitty. Hence why they go through a process to find these people.

Free colour theory lesson. Brown is a "dirty" orange. The opposite colour to orange and therefore brown is blue. A funky highlight to a brown object would be electric blue.

I agree to some extent, I loved the scale of the strawberry. But the avocado and papaya kinda messed up the perspective just because of how big they are. But I loved that tattoo!

I don't understand how some of the artists go on this show not knowing what certain styles are. Having a specialization is one thing, but if you know you're going on a show about being an ink master, you should at least research other styles and maybe practice them if you can? So many times an artist will have a moment saying "I know nothing about this style" and then they end up missing the challenge.

It's beautiful but it missed the mark on proportion. Proportion is part of photo realism. For example if someone were to do a beautiful face and had realistic details but gave it the proportion of a Tim Burton character it wouldn't be photo realism.

Art is subjective. I only watch the show to get ideas for tattoos I might want. I disagree with the judges more often than not.

29:01 Cross stitching isn’t always smooth and solid and straight….. that’s not how cross stitching works. It’s art and in any art there are going to be flaws…. if you look too close at any piece of art, you can find fault anywhere….. over scrutinizing a piece of art takes away from what it is… no one can survive under that kind of scrutiny and no art could survive under that kind of scrutiny These pieces are fantastic and Nunes is just being a dick . I don’t think he understands the concept himself.. he wants straight lines and perfection is not going to always straight lines and perfection. It wouldn’t be that it would just be photocopy or digital/artificial.

27:18 BULLCRAP!!! as someone who does needlepoint and cross stitching regularly, this was the only tattoo that looked like it had actual cross stitching looked like it was cross stitched on the skin. Yeah the skull is not cross, but it looks badass and I love it. Nunez is an idiot … dude has never cross stitched anything in his life and it shows

Well idk about ya'll but just after the 17 min mark when it was transitioning into the next clip mine had the audio of the next clip playing over the last&wrong clip. NOW I have a crap phone w/ equally craptastic service so it may just be me but ya'll lmk cuz I've gone back to replay a few times & had same result.

Cross stitch gothic fairy with a sword in battle wearing a corset with long pink nails but one thumb is purple because that is my dead granbaby's favorite color and I want her legs to be the hands of a clock made of roses in cross stitch with her feet showing the time 7:22 because that's when my labradoodle was born.
