I hope one day we can get atleast a short story that takes place on Gue'vesa'rio. Maybe a cop story that can serve as a companion piece to another Gue'vesa detective short story called "Voice of Experience", which takes place in the Nem'yar Atoll.
The Tau in this setting is a mirror of the once Great Imperium when the Emperor once walk among mortals, and like the Imperium there will come a point where the Tau must harden their hearts to survive in this Galaxy as there are many that will do everything to destroy this empire.

While I like the outcome that it caused a small faction of the T'au to become xenophobic due to it's existence, I dislike the fact it exists considering it took the Eldar a much more psychic race millions of years to create Slaanesh. Rather than the introduction of a god manifested from the belief of the auxiliary races the same group of T'au could have ended in the same ideological position just by seeing the effects of the warp on the non T'au member races of the empire.
I'll never forget when my one last surviving fire warrior scored a single wound against Arjac Rockfist in close combat phase. Arjac had one wound left and rolled a 1 for his armor save. Goof times. 👍

A good guy faction serves only as a way to legitimize national exceptionalism. It enables escapism through mediating the redemption of morally gray acts by implementing an End justifies the means mentality. In that way a good faction would be able to act as the only truly viable propaganda vehicle, real life fascism could appropriate and assimilate. In the grim darkness of the far future, there is only war. No good guys allowed.
