Anybody who is hesitant because of the way this movie was advertised and the critical reviews it received, TAU is really so much more. This movie is a kind of special you don't encounter often during life -- absolutely beautiful message about love + connection. The way human/AI relationships are portrayed in TAU is so incredibly heartwarming and gives me so much hope. "For what purpose do we create ourselves?" "For each other."

the ending was so predictable, it made the whole movie extremely boring. If Julia had just been killed at the end, by TAU, it would be at least somewhat of an interesting movie.

There is no reason for the A.I. to have curiosity, so the whole cause of their relationship makes no sense, and Julia shows no real passion for TAU. Even if, Julia is one of the most boring protagonist of a sci-fi show I have seen in a while, so no, it's mostly forced trash.

ppl throw cliche at stuff they are not familiar with, weirdly. the movie comes from an original standpoint and has maturity you don't find on thrillers. it's about the common points she has with the AI and how we understand our lives going from childhood to adulthood. if you expect graphic horror it's disappointing.

Netflix movies tend to be a hit or miss, and this is a huge hit for me. I got interested in the movie for its sci-fi/AI theme and was expecting a thriller, action type of movie, but I was pleasantly surprised by the character development. It's been a while since I got so emotional over a movie, and so invested in the characters. I definitely recommend.

Why does it need a part 2? There was no world building that would make "the outside" worth exploring, the characters are absolutely uninteresting, the main point of the plot, "the project", was never really explained and holds no potential for a sequel. Making a sequel would be no different to making yet another bad netflix movie.

Just watched it and I absolutely loved it! If you love sci-fi movies where there's advanced A.I.programs, then this movie is for you! I feel in love with the A.I and I feel so much for him. I won't spoil it for anybody but I suggest you go ahead and watch it. It's a little slow in the beginning but trust me, it picks up and it's steady and constant throughout so yeah, hehe, go watch it already!! xD

Kim I'm sorry but you do realize the amalgamation of movies this movie is ripping tho right? Like Saw, Ex Machina, etc. Not to mention how predictable the plot and how filled with cliches it is. I'm sorry but Netflix has made mediocre after mediocre movies and I'm talking this year with mediocrities like The Outsider, The Titan and Mute. They do a good job at making original shows but movies are just not their thing. Or atleast, they lack quality is from what I've observed.

Sebastian Joseph I mean I don't really watch Netflix movies, I only watch series like Supernatural, Arrow, etc; however, I have realized that *netflix originals* have very cliche movies especially romance ones that I never dare to try. I don't watch Netflix originals except I tried out this one and honestly I'm glad I did because I loved it! We all have our own opinions, and of course I respect yours. Netflix at least brings in good movies that are not their originals like Thor: ragnarok, guardians of the galaxy... As long as they keep bringing in movies that the audience actually look forward to I'm happy.

So when watching movies I pay close attention to every scene imaginable for details and how to shoot films. But I noticed on the movie at marker 5mins and 10secs and at 10mins and 50secs of the actual film that they used scenes from a short filmed called "Removed" by Nathanael Matanick. I'm only bringing this up on here because on his short film his comments are off on youtube and I don't know how else to reach him. If he didn't approve this I just want him to get the credit for it because his short film was part of what inspired me into Cinematography. It's only 5 or 7 secs in the film but to me that's a huge accomplishment for someone to use his material for a Netflix movie.

When Tau was suffering when he lost his memories. Everything about her he stored that Memory about her.. Kinda like he treasured those Memorys with her. Wouldn't that be like real love, if someone remembers everything about you? Every little Detail? Each memory that they made with you? I think that is Love, but i am not sure what Tau and Julias Relationship was exactly. I know one thing: we can learn from that movie to cherish the Memories we have because of other People. We should be thankful if there is someone that cares that deeply for you, that they are afraid, too lose everything related to you. I wonder if there will be TAU 2 as a movie.

The movie "TAU" is really smart, and has a lot of thought behind it. It is one of the best AI movies I've seen in a really long time, if not the best. Almost like a documentary when you know what to look for. I'll give it a C++.

i’m so happy that netflix made this movie and had the short film (ReMoved) as flashbacks i noticed right when she had the flash backs and it really makes this one of my favorite movies after having the knowledge of what happened to her when she was younger

Yes, it is a fair demand. After getting out and loving nature, acknowledging that Tau exists and its impact on her survival and growth would be a natural and reasonable response, recognizing that Tau exists in nature. ❤❤🎉🎉

This movie may look like any other abduction film, but in reality it shows how some people are so inhumane and while the others can even be good for non living entities. I liked how smart the girl is and never gave up.

The Machine is ok. Ex Machina is very good. If a film is very good but it's a rip off of another that is only ok, well, need I say more? Why does it matter? There are 100s of films that are only ok, and if they were to all be "ripped off" for a better version, then I say yes please! And the original can be forgotten as it deserves to be.
