I call cat paralysis; cat-lap-a-nap-a-dosis… (sounds kind of like a Latin medical term) and I try to convince my manager it’s a valid reason for calling out of work!
My cat is often very cuddly which I love 💜 it's really funny sometimes though because he doesn't seem to be a fan of lying on me when my legs are bare so he will often stare at me until I put a blanket or cushion on my legs for him to lie on 😂 he's often rather impatient when I pick the blanket up and won't even wait for me to sort the blanket how I want it 😂
Cuddly cats are just the best...! hahaha love the blanket trick for cuddling! You are not the first one to mention it! I need to get a blanket I guess...!
@OutdoorBengal they really are 💜 Fred is a proper lap cat and honestly he is my absolute world 🐈⬛ that's cool I haven't heard of any other cats being like that tbh so that's interesting to know 😊 you will have to try it and let us know if a blanket works 💜
@@OutdoorBengal i have learned him how to sit, lie down, waot and shake already! Your videos helped me so much and soon he's old enough to go out on adventures like my other cats
Have you tried getting their favorite treats (amzn.to/47XiAza) and sitting on the sofa? That works great. An alternative is finger targeting: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ZQ0ITyonFxg.html
@@OutdoorBengal unfortunately he is under socialized. Just under 6 months. So he doesn’t really want to be close to me when he’s resting, but he follows me around so I know he likes me. Any tips?
One thing I try and do, when holding my cat, is let her feel supported (she knows I'm not going to drop her), but not restricted. So she feels like she has authority and isn't restricted. One cuddle "destroyer" is a particular blanket I like putting on my bed. Usually, at night, my cat jumps on the bed, I lift the covers and she comes under and curls up against my belly, purring contentedly. However, the texture of this one blanket (like mohair), stops her in her tracks. She instantly has to start making biscuits and totally forgets about me!🤷🏻♀️😄
My cat trusts me and I trust her, and in turn I get cuddles quite often. But sometimes when I want to cuddle her and she doesn’t, I’ll gently force her into some cuddles for a minute or two, and I jokingly call it “paying rent” 😅
I have an easy fix - get a Burmese! 😂 Preferably a male - both of the boys I've had have been total cuddlebugs (females tend to be slower to trust but can be just as cuddly once they decide they like you).
i had a (Monstera) plant but was told it's unsafe for cats, is that true? I think i saw one in your backround, behind your couch in a basket. Just curious is it okay to have some plants with cats? Because i love my Monstera!
I know this is off subject but i was wondering what are your thoughts on Mia being a one household cat. I heard that Bengals do better with another cat as a companion/playmate. I will be getting my bengal kitten in 8 weeks. She will be an only cat for now. I am considering a second bengal down the road. Also i am always home and have plenty of time to bond with my kitten.
Got my bengal from the local shelter two weeks ago and she's probably still settling in, but she'll only come to me for cuddles.. She does not like being approached or picked up.. She also does biscuits with claws and if I touch her too much during cuddled, she will eat me alive.. But she will lie next to me or on top of me in bed all the time.. And then always in the most inconvenient places, like splat middle of my bed or right where I usual keep my legs..
hahaha I'm offended by the intermitent reinforcement comment haha! But that doesn't prevent me from sharing the Plan Saving Video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xcDtxEASk1Y.html
@@OutdoorBengal I spray my plants with a very dilute solution of lemon and orange essential oil ( so dilute I can barely smell it), doesn’t seem to hurt plants but has kept my naughty savannah from destroying them. Also , works with the Christmas tree. Now for the men, if I could figure out how to keep them from wandering after they have been trained🙃
3:32 Hey Albert, great videos! Quick question: when you treat her when she’s on your lap, do you additionally use the clicker or do you only give her treats?
The clicker helps mark the behavior, so you would really have to click when they jump on your lap or sit on your lap. If it’s ongoing, clicker is not needed
That's such a good question. It's not a cat reason... it's a human (selfish) reason. I travel by plane a lot. I live far from home and I go visit often. Having one cat allows me to take her with me. With 2 I couldn't.
There are a couple things you can do if you want to train your kittens together: 1) Use a different clicker sound (so that they don't confuse their "click" with their siblings) 2) Teach them different tricks (so they don't both do the trick at the same time) The other alternative, is locking one cat at a time. You can lock yourself with the cat you are training instead of the cat that it's not trained. That makes the experience for the cat that's alone nicer.
@@OutdoorBengal oh I see makes sense. I got 2 kitten that are 5 months old now. They LOVE playing with each other and learning from each other. But I get it. Nice vids man. 👍
Yes! The transition can sometimes be hard. Kibble is the "junk food" in the pets realm and it's tasty and crunchy and with a ton of aroma... it's hard to compete against that with natural products. The transition has to be slow and using both products simultaneously, phasing out the kibble slowly.
What treat do you use to train your cats? I just got myself a new Manx cat and you have inspired me to start training her while she's new to the family
I feed her raw treats, my cat Mia likes freezed dried chicken a lot: amzn.to/3FviIYa Try reading this article, I cover the topic in depth! www.outdoorbengal.com/blogs/clicker-training-cats/my-cat-doesnt-like-treats-train-a-cat-thats-not-food-motivated
It's cool when you give some advice when naked. Because, let's be honest, we don't care about cats, we're here because you look cute ;-) Joking, I care more about my Bengals so thanks for the tips.
hahahaha! The idea was to film that scene as if it was right after it happened when eating (which I was doing shirtless) but I don't know if the editing helps explain that story or complicates it...
Quick question from a new cat owner: from what age/months should one starts to train and teach tricks to one's cat? Mine is already 4 months old. Is it too early? Is it the perfect time? Thank you 😊😸
I started training Mia when she was 12weeks old. I started with some easy tricks like come when called and finger targetting and got to more complex tricks once she was comfortable with those. You can find more about it in this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YxxCqtJ93zU.html
My cat (7 months old) likes to cuddle right after he eats and when he wakes up from a long nap. Sometimes, he will cuddle when I want to. I smooched and cuddled him a lot when he was tiny, so he is used to it :)
Hi I love how much u love your baby girl. I have 4 cats they all have there own personally and the one that half feral is very huggy weird I no. Love your channel Shawna from Canada 😂
My bengal always comes to sit on my knee when hes had his evening meal and i sit down to play on the PlayStation. He also is a tart and loves his belly rubbed he knows when i say where’s your belly lol.
