You need no supplements, especially taurine if you are eating human appropriate food, carnivore. Taurine the MASTER REGULATOR, is plenty in animal food and you only need to extra supplement if there's a specific health issue from the previous kibble diet you need to fix/adjust before you rely again only to animal based carnivore way of eating

Just curious what your ethnic background is. I’m almost 60 years old, African American and many of my friends think I’m in my mid 40s. However, if you don’t have sun damage or stay in a region like Iceland, you could reverse aging. Many people from Iceland who are 70s look and act much younger. I don’t know but there are many factors involved. But, you seem to be a very nice person and honestly, it really doesn’t matter. As long as you’re happy and are enjoying life, that’s the most important thing. Take care and have a very Happy New Year!

Two considerations: The study lead has mentioned that older people why have higher taurine are in better health suggesting a possible causal link. This leads in the second point - test taurine level. Amino acid panels are available and they include taurine. Test, then tweak taurine supplementation to get to the 20 to 30 year old level. This will likely be a lot less taurine than just blindly following the 3 to 6 gram conversion from mice. At 69 yo my level is at the 40 yo per the study human graph.

Here are the key points made in the video, attributed to Rimon, with the correct spelling of the supplement: 1. Rimon introduces the concept of "taurine," a nutrient produced naturally by the body. He has been researching longevity since 2007 and finds this molecule particularly exciting because its levels decrease with age, and recent studies suggest it can extend lifespan by 12%. 2. Rimon discusses a 2023 study on "taurine" using male and female mice. The study found that "taurine" increased lifespan in both sexes, which is significant because many longevity molecules only increase lifespan in one sex. The median lifespan increase was 10 to 12%, the largest life extension seen from any available nutrient or natural supplement (excluding diet). 3. The study used a large number of mice (246), which is significant for a lifespan study. Rimon notes that some mice were removed from the study due to fighting, leading to a sociological observation about the fighting habits of male and female mice. 4. If the results of the study were to be translated to humans, the equivalent would be an increase in the average lifespan from 80 to 90 years. However, Rimon cautions that translating results from mice to humans is difficult. 5. The second discovery discussed in the video is related to maximum lifespan. "Taurine" not only increased the average lifespan but also the maximum lifespan in mice. In human terms, this could mean an increase in the maximum lifespan from 80 to between 94 and 100 years. 6. Rimon discusses the age at which "taurine" supplementation was started in the mice. The mice were fed "taurine" from the age of 14 months, which is equivalent to the age of 40 in humans. Rimon wonders what the effect would have been if supplementation had started earlier. 7. The fourth discovery is that it took 20 years of "taurine" supplementation in human equivalence for the nutrient to show mortality reduction. This suggests that "taurine" targets aging, a slow process in the body. 8. Rimon discusses the dose of "taurine" given to the mice and how this can be translated to humans. The dose given to the mice was 1,000 milligrams per kilo of body weight daily, which would be equivalent to 4 to 8 grams per day for humans. This is a high dose of chronic "taurine" supplementation. 9. Rimon notes that lower doses of "taurine" were also effective in increasing lifespan, but the highest doses yielded the maximum longevity benefits. However, there is likely a threshold beyond which "taurine" ceases to offer longevity benefits. 10. Rimon discusses the timing of "taurine" supplementation. In the study, "taurine" was given to the mice in a single daily dose, dissolved in water for oral administration. This suggests that if humans want to replicate the study's approach, they should take all the "taurine" at once daily with water, probably on an empty stomach. 11. Rimon notes that the study did not delve deeply into the side effects of "taurine" supplementation. However, one potential side effect is that high-dose chronic "taurine" supplementation may prevent mTOR (a mechanism for accumulating protein and amino acids necessary for muscle growth) from becoming fully activated. This could potentially impact exercise and fitness results. 12. Rimon concludes that while "taurine" supplementation could potentially preserve youth and extend longevity, more research is needed to fully understand its effects and potential side effects. It's also important to consider how "taurine" may affect exercise and fitness results. Rimon invites viewers to join him in exploring these questions in future videos.

Thanks for the video. I have sen the study and I am taking taurine for about 3 months by now. However, you make one conclusion you cannot derive from the data: about needing to take taurine for twenty years before. That is an interpretation of the data, not a fact. It can very well be, that before that time, taurine supplementation doesn't do anything simply because the body still makes enough by itself. Continue the good work!
@ntwalipat2
@ntwalipat2 10 месяцев назад
Interesting point! Could it be possible that the lack of noticeable effects while supplementing with Taurine, in my experience, is because my body naturally produces enough of it? It is also possible that it requires the dosages used to be as high as suggested in this video as per the studies. 🤔
@WellnessMessiah
@WellnessMessiah 10 месяцев назад
Hi, Let me clarify the interpretation - in the mice studies it took 20 years for the taurine group to have reduced mortality - not benefits. I never said benefits. However, had they started old mice, I suspect mortality reduction will take place within 1 yeas. They just gave it to young mice, that are not likely to die.

@@PhyllisMoon Here's a general overview of how hormonal changes progress in a woman's body after menopause: Early Postmenopause (First 5 Years): Estrogen and Progesterone Decline: Estrogen and progesterone levels decrease significantly. These hormonal changes can lead to symptoms like hot flashes, night sweats, and mood swings. Mid-Postmenopause (5 to 10 Years): Stabilization of Hormone Levels: Hormone levels may stabilize to a certain extent. Many menopausal symptoms may lessen, although some women may continue to experience symptoms like vaginal dryness or changes in mood. Late Postmenopause (10+ Years): Continued Decline in Hormones: Estrogen levels continue to decline, albeit at a slower rate. Progesterone levels remain low. Bone Health Concerns: The decline in estrogen is associated with a higher risk of osteoporosis and bone density loss. Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) may be considered for managing specific symptoms and supporting bone health. Cardiovascular Health Considerations: The decline in estrogen may also impact cardiovascular health, potentially contributing to an increased risk of heart disease. It's important to note that every woman's experience with menopause and postmenopause is unique

*MATH BRAINS HELP ME OUT HERE:* According to what you stated was in the study, 1000 mg per kg of body weight is what was used in the mice trials. So, for a 160 lb. man you must divide 160 by 2.2 to find the kilogram equivalent. That = 72.73 kg for 160 lbs. Thus, we must then multiply 72.73 kg of body weight by 1000 mg = 72,730 mg of Taurine daily or *72.72 grams daily* not 6 grams! Where are you getting your 6 gram number you list at the marker: 9:51 ?

Taurine and glycine do completely different things in the body, and are both needed independently. Glycine does not replace the need for taurine. Look up Pottengers Humans RU-vid channel for some of the best videos on both taurine and glycine I have found.

Taurine also has the same receptor as Beta Alanine and it is also considered for longevity. At least the molecule Carnosine the Beta Alanine converts to is a very potent for longevity. How would you compare Taurine and Beta Alanine in their effectiveness for longevity?
@pjaworek6793
@pjaworek6793 10 месяцев назад
I'm really excited about alanine for carnosine too. Bit scared because of the flushing. Want to know how to use this. I already dumped a few bottles of carnosine eye drops into my eyes. I think it helps a little, at least temporarily. Which means, the idea of raising carnosine throughout could be really powerful. Besides removing AGE's, what else does it to in considering the dosing regimen?
@ntwalipat2
@ntwalipat2 10 месяцев назад
It's fascinating how you can actually feel the effects of Beta Alanine working. On the other hand, I didn't notice much of an effect from Taurine, although I only tried one bottle and at a lower dosage than what was recommended in the video.
@1GHOUL1
@1GHOUL1 10 месяцев назад
@@pjaworek6793 I personally think Beta Alanine is better than Taurine in terms of practicality as it allows the body to raise Carnosine and keeps it raised in the body with a very slow washout rate of 14 weeks. So it may allow people to go on a short vacation without having to take it everyday like Taurine. But effectiveness in longevity between the two supplements is the comparison I’d like to see. You also just have to take 3 grams of Beta Alanine to maintain a very high concentration of Carnosine in the body.

Great overview. I took taurine up to 10g per day spread out. I did this for I believe a few months. I was seeing if it impacted my tinnitus and hearing. I personally did not notice any acute negative side effects. I gradually increased my taurine intake up to 10mg. I used powdered bulk taurine. This is just my personal observations. Check with your health care professionals. I stopped taking taurine but I recently restarted at 2g powdered taurine. I think it is important to keep a checklist to track intake. Just make an excel sheet or something. It may be helpful just for your own knowledge. Thanks for this review.

As a fellow commenter said creatine is excellent ,moves the needle without question and is not only the most researched compound in human history (over 120+ years) but is truly dirt cheap when you stick to the tried and true pure monohydrate in a good old bag 😅 collagen (peptides) whilst not as dirt cheap as creatine are simply far too beneficial in a vast plethora of ways to overlook particularly in lieu of longevity and anti-aging; both internal and external. Buy the most expensive / single source organic cold pressed extra virgin olive oil you can actually afford to cook with on a regular basis as well. An olive oil of such significant purity can not only be used in cooking but also cosmetically on skin and in hair as well, again to significant noticeable benefit thereby drastically improving it's value! Those and a simple but high quality (ideally food sourced) multivitamin - mineral will go a very very VERY LONG WAY at aiding us in our lifelong shared quest at avoiding a premature death and enjoying our lives as much as possible whilst remaining as disease free and virile/full of vigour and vitality as we possibly can too! Finally, don't forget at least 90 minutes of zone 2 cardio per week and at to resistance train 2-4 times per week if only for 20-40 minutes per session... Healthspan>Lifespan! Good luck fellow health conscious mortals, we've got this!

I have had skin disease from last 3 years. I started with ayurvedic medicine. It did work, but only 50% . Then, I read a book on vitamin, about taurine. Then, I realised that, in COVID period, I was sick trice. Due to that, I have acidity. This acidity 1st control by potassium, but potassium is very less, so taurine started working in place of potassium. Taurine is produced in body using B6. Thus, there is B6 defeciancy, which resulted in skin disease. After reading this, at different pages in the book, I started eating walnut, thus my skin disease cure. Again there is skin disease. At this time, no use of walnut. I approached a Unani Dr, who is MD in skin (Unani). He started eczema treatment, but no use. One day my skin becomes pink colour at affected part. I took photo and send to him. Then, he prescribed Liver tonic (Unani). Now, my skin cured. Yesterday, I listen a video on taurine, in that, it is mentioned that, taurine also detoxify Liver. Means, this time also, taurine is responsible for my skin disease.

@shotgunsnare - If you had x-rays showing calcium nodules and/or bone spurs and then received an arthritis diagnosis because of this, it may be curable. An excess of Calcium and a deficiency of Magnesium will cause these bony anomalies, which can be undone by removing supplemental Calcium from your diet and instead, adding high doses of Magnesium ingestion. Over time, this will dissolve the excess calcium buildup and restore the body to its normal self. *HERE'S HOW I LEARNED THIS:* I had severe lower back pain for 13 years. Went everywhere to get help, including the Mayo Clinic. They found calcium nodules in my lower back & bone spurs. Their solution was stretching and weight bearing exercises, which I had already been doing without any resolution of the issue. I began to do massive research as I was in a great deal of distress. For a separate reason entirely I began taking Magnesium in high doses and after 5 months, my back pain suddenly was gone. No more bone spurs in my vertebrae! I've continued to take it daily (at triple the daily norm) since 2001. I have no pains anywhere! In spring of 2023, I went in and had my first coronary calcium score done to see how much calcification I had built up in my heart & abdomen. My score came back at ZERO calcification! This is rare to find no calcified plaque in someone in their late 60's. I attribute this entirely to my taking magnesium, K2 and other supplements nightly for many years.

@@shotgunsnare - Great! My favorite is Magnesium Oxide. Magnesium Citrate doesn't work as well for me. I started out with 400 mg per day (normal adult dose) taken before bed and then increased it slowly until I started having too much diarrhea! That's your saturation point. It took 5 months to get to that. That is also when I realized my back pain was gone. I reduced down to a triple dose (1200 mg) at night and slowly moved back to double the dose (800mg) as my daily dose over the next year and stayed at that amount for many years after. In recent years I've gone back up to 1200 mg each night. If I miss a few days, the nagging back pain starts to wake up. So, I go right back on it. I hope it helps you too, and if so, try to report back!

thanks for the report about the paper. The effect on mTor was new to me. Based on that it could be supportive to inject it in a higher dose into a period of time restricted feeding, or a fasting period after 18h+. I knew about taurine in a different context, as a protector of mitochondrial membrane and one of the main scavengers of ROS within the mitochondria. It also improves beta-oxidation and handling of fatty acids. Note that it naturally usually comes with meat, hence that would make some sense. That also would direct Taurine as a supporting\enhancing agent specifically for a low carb diet. And indeed, some years ago, when my diet contained quite some more carbs (40% cal) than today (25% cal) the immediate effect (2g/d) was getting tired, as the metabolism was directed away from Glucose fueling. Taurine was invoking a mini keto flu, I guess. Given that profile I would not cycle on\off, but cycle the dosage, with a lower dose during times of food intake. Taurine is not easily or quickly washed out I think.

Longevity studies on Nordic countries found a positive correlation between longer lifespan and lean protein intake, wild game protein intake, and fish protein intake. It just seems like all of these amino acids are good for you and we should be eating lots of them.

Taurine is dirt cheap as a supplement, I buy it in bulk powder form, 30€ of it will last me 4 months or something. I've lost 10kg of bodyweight with no other efforts just taking 4G of Taurine per day.

Thanks for your analysis Rimon.. Hope your wife is improving OK. I've been taking 6g taurine a day, first thing in the morning dissolved along with my TMG and NMN for a while now. Interesting what you say about exercise & taurine though, I hadn't considered this factor but I think maybe until we get better data I might treat it like resveratrol, and (on training days) take it post-exercise but prior to a meal. instead of first ting in the morning ?? Cheers - Dave.

I take 3g of taurine, 3g of glycine + NAC (glynac) along with fish oil in the afternoon, after I've finished with my daily activities & workouts.

I have been on a GlyNAC protocol since late 2022 and recently added Taurine to the mix. I found empirically that it works best as a single dose just before dinner. I do 25mg/kg of NAC and 33mg/kg for Glycine and Taurine. Adding the Taurine to the GlyNAC was a game changer for me.

Taurine is naturally produced in the human body. As we age, the Taurine production slows down. Like testosterone, by the time we're 60 we make 10% or less of the Taurine in our body, as we did at ten.

My taurine level is at 30 yo level (based on blood teat) and I'm 69. I eat nothing but plants with a little wild fish. Exercise daily and for last 10 years supplement with a small dose of taurine (500 mg) for vascular health.

Hi yes. I know 3 taurine metabolites. do you know the best blood test for taurine status out of the three? and does it reflect an average consumption of many weeks or just you ate yesterday. probably best to eat no taurine and then measure the following day to estimate natural production

Would magnesium taurate be a good idea? Double win.
@WellnessMessiah
@WellnessMessiah 10 месяцев назад
Yes. taurate is in a form that is attached to another molecule such as magnesium. when broken down, it becomes free l-taurine.
