@Alfonso Aviña that's a good choice. I can.t wake to get one .I've had taurus gun s before and I have never had any problems with them .have a great day .
Yeah, the fact that Taurus is under new management and getting their shit together made me give them a chance. Back when I was a cop 12 years ago, I wouldn't give them the time of day. Went to a gun show this weekend for a deal on a Glock and came home with the G3 for $270. 😂 Very impressive firearm.
Taurus has made substantial changes in their overall organization. They have a new CEO, have two new firearms that have been well received, and they are moving their manufacturing facilities to a new factory in Georgia. They produce a reliable feature rich pistol with their G2 and G3 pistols at an extremely budget friendly price. I am very impressed with the changes that Taurus has made.
Thank you for doing a non biased comparison of these 2 handguns. I understand that there are millions of Glock fans out there compared to us Taurus lovers and that is cool. Of these 2, I would buy the Taurus. Why?? Two major reasons. First one is that I have the G2C in 9 mm and love how comfortable it is when shooting. The 2nd reason is the pricing difference. That difference is big enough to me to allow me to buy ammo.
Agreed.. It seems as though some people go into it "TRYING" to find anything they can to discredit the Taurus. The fact that the Taurus can be compared side by side with a Glock and is comparable in most all ways, says it all, and OH YEAH!.....for 100s of dollars less. What makes any gun good is a gun that won't jam.... Other than that, if the bad guy still has time to think at all after being shot.... Do you think he's concerned with whether it was a Glock, Taurus, or a Norinco that put his ass on the cold hard slab? ...Or how many pounds of pull it took on the trigger to put him there?....
I've been a loyal berretta owner of the 92 series since 1986. Did some research on the taurus g2c and the th9 and went to my local gun store and walked out with the taurus g3. It came with 2 mec-gar magazines. Now time to look for a good light and holster. I still might go back and get a g2c as a backup. Thanks for your video. Very well done.
@ Q Trendsetter - not sure what lights you have. I've got the G3 & G3c, both w/ Olight Baldr S light/laser combos (I'm not going to buy a MIL-SPEC light that costs more than the gun). Ron at Center Mass Concealment Holsters made excellent custom light bearing holsters for me. He uses thicker kydex, and his holsters are flawless. As long as you don't have a completely no-name brand light, he can make you any type of light bearing holster.
Taurus has hit a home run with the G2/3 and TX-22 which I just purchased yesterday. Moving their manufacturing to Georgia with new management was a game changer for the company. At half the price of the Glock, there is no good reason to buy the Glock unless you are brand conscious. I see a lot of future innovations from Taurus, whereas Glock has pretty much defined themselves as a one trick pony.
I'm glad you said that! I had a Taurus G3C, and sold it like a idiot for a Ruger Max. I actually shoot my Gen 2 LCP Original better than the Max, so I traded it yesterday for the full-size G3. Without lubing it, I went directly to the range, and fired 100rds without any flaws. I actually like the way it holds and handles better than the Glock 19 I had. I noticed it's made in Georgia.
@@tomhinklejr.5055 i noticed the same thing feels way better than my 19x and the 19x cost 6x as much ! I got mine for 125$ came with 3 mags all 17s it came with a threaded barrel & a stippled grip & the mf who had it before me had it milled so its red dot ready w the Toro plate literally like 400$+ in work done to it . Because the pawn shop lady said its "taurus" so i pretended it was a bad brand got a 100 discount they wanted 225 and i walked out with a steal for 125 .. I say keep the glock meat riders on glock keep the G3 a secret keep the prices down
This and other Videos convinced me to buy the G3 TORO and with the money saved I was able to buy a Holosun Red Dot sight so I'm very pleased with my purchase. Not to mention the G3 uses all of my SIG P226 Magazines so that was also a huge incentive, for me at least, to Get the G3.
I purchased the Taurus G3 about a month ago & love it! Felt good the moment I picked it up while shoppin for guns. The mags are a booger to load, but I just purchased a mag loader so hope that works well! 👍 After I bought my Taurus several people told me its a great gun, my son now wants one lol.
My mags were pretty tight new as well. One of them no matter what would t take the last round. I just called Taurus and by the end of the week I had a new mag 🤷🏻♂️
@@jamesbuchanan3145 Hope that worked out better! I just bought the Taurus G3C not long ago as well. I love it better than my G3! My next purchase will be the Taurus GX4. Really cant have too many LOL 😋
@@catrinalee1969 Worked great 🙌 I got the original 15 rounder to work after a while. I just cycled it with 14 rounds a bunch, then speed loader refilled it to 15 and left it loaded. Works good now. Love it
I know absolutely nothing about handguns except that everyone says to get a Glock. But a friend said to consider the Taurus G3. Your wonderful review was a big help. Your presentation is methodical and well-organized. You explain everything so well, and showing things like the containers the guns arrive in, and what comes with them, was a big help. Also knowing what materials are used in both guns is extremely helpful. You did such a really great comparative review. Thank you especially for talking about the customer service for repairs on each gun. Thanks so much for a great review.
@@evadedshadow1506 you sound pretty young. There's guys who have 5-10K rounds thru their Taurus. Friends help friends weigh the pros and cons, to make rational decisions.
@@jackjack4412 You're touting that round count like it's high. Don't confuse youth for inexperience. If you're content with your harbor freight specials then good for you, me and mine ride with real semis.
I had an issue with my Taurus G2c, trigger had a kind of catch in it that was driving me crazy. Everyone said that the G3 had a much smoother and more refined trigger and it definitely does. I was planning on sending the G2c back to Taurus but my local gunsmith said he could take care of the problem. So for $25 he did just that, and it's now as smooth as a babies bottom. Really happy with both firearms and spent less for two even with the repair, than I would have for one Glock 19. I have run 500 plus mixed rounds through the G2c with 1 FTE in the first 50. The G3 I have now run 300 mixed rounds through with zero issues. Taurus has a definite winner with the G3 and I think the G2c is a keeper also.
How do you carry your G3 ? Glocks are currently all sold in my country, rumour is they will be pricier when they land in December. Taurus at half the price will probably get my money, could buy a quality concealable vest as well for the price of a 19.
Update, I found a 43X on special.. just waiting on my legal paperwork. Still rate the G3 for value, it's just difficult to own a second gun in my country so I played it safe.
Taurus just opened a new plant / Service center in Georgia USA to fix those issues. Still shooting and carrying my PT111 G2 by the way. My guess is that in the next few years all the Taurus issues will be a thing of the past.
I have owned a Taurus 44 mag revolver 8 3/8" for over 18 years now. Fired well over 2,000+ rounds thru it with no problems. Taurus guns are so underrated.
Love my G3C enough to customize the striker, recoil assembly with stainless steel, and can't wait to get my operis trigger along with a brand spanking new CAA MKC GEN 2 FO TAURUS G3C BABY!!!! GOD BLESS Y'ALL
I am sorry you had trouble getting guns back that you sent in for repair. The company I work for sells guns also, and when I have sent guns to Taurus for various reasons, always got them back within a month or so, and had very nice customer service people to deal with. If you provide them with detailed information about the problem with a repair, my experience is they always address it, and get it fixed. I liked your review, you cover all the key points that folks want to know about. Many people on RU-vid are comparing the G series pistols with Glocks, and some wrongfully assume that because they cost less, they won't last as long. Jury is still out on that one. Glocks are great pistols, no doubt about it, but I think the G2 and G3 are great guns. They are accurate, and reliable, for an amazing price. Thank you for the honest and detailed review. Enjoyed it.
I have owned a 17-19-37 Glock I own just the 19 now also two G2C'S Glock owner since 1993 my usage on both guns both are equal on most shooting comparisons if u want to spend $300 more just to be a Glock owner thats your preference if u want a EDC and a automobile gun buy the G2C or G3 because u can buy two or three G2C's 2 G3 for the price of one Glock gen5 your choice both shoot great !!!
Man you guys are nuts with this dumb arguing over the guns, I own a p320 a g17 and a taurus pt92 .. all good guns i prefer the 320 , but only because its what I shoot most,, love the pt92 no issues, like the g17 but again don't shoot it as much,, but I have had some hangups w the g17, probably because im not used to the grip angle, I don't blame the guns,,All are good, i do want a g3 or g2c and I'm sure i will like it also.. Taurus seems to be doing very well with quality on these new guns, ohh and by the way lifetime warranty so feel confident in getting one, Hey even if you're a Glock fanboy, why not get one just to do a test at the range it's only 180 for the g2c and I've seen the g3 for about 225.... YOU guys talk like you own the companies,, and they are all laughing all the way to the bank
I have the Gen4 G19 and I love it, but now I want the G3. I love the Taurus arms I own and they seem to have really improved nowadays with the new CEO and facilities in Florida and Georgia!
Great presentation! Thank you! I recently bought the Taurus G3. Ergonomics was the main deciding factor. The Big 4 are all very nice (Glock, Sig, S&W, H&K). The G3 fits my hand so comfortably. As they say, if the shoe fits...
The G3 is reliable, ergonomic, and has a true manual safety for those of us without prior military training, or a law enforcement background. I carry mine almost daily.
Another great comparison would be the Canik One Elite vs the G3. The Glock is an important comparison because it is the benchmark, but I think most G3 buyers wouldn't take it seriously. The Canik on the other hand is within $75 and should definitely be compared.
Haven't shot the Canik, but I can tell you there's a notch in the back to keep the gun from printing that the heel of my hand rests on. Kind of uncomfortable. On the plus side, the balance of the gun makes it easy to get it up on target and the phosphorus white sight is awesome.
Great video, seems you can really tell when people favor glocks though. To me the trigger pull and reset are almost the same but seems you gave the glock the nod....lol. Taurus may have a checkered past and it sometimes seem as if when their guns are being reviewed people are looking more for what's wrong than right. Great video overall again, very informative and a fair assessment of the G3👍🏼
I agree, was a great review, but obviously, and as he mentioned himself, he favours the Glock since he carries one, which is understandable. But the trigger pull was identical IMO. I just can not justify spending more than twice the price when I not only like the look of the G3 better, it performs the same.
and he obviously kept giving Glock the W especially with the weight of the 2 firearms he stated 2 different weights at different times of the video lol , but it was still a good video I love Glocks and all but the Taurus is my choice and I’ve got rid of my Glock collection besides one just to have it 🤷🏾 which is my Glock 23
I have a taurus 9mm g3 and for 300 bucks you can't beat it. Came with 17 rd and a 15 rd mags. Dependable and accurate.I love the grip I have big hands and love how grippy it is. If I had to complain about 1 thing it would be the back serrated sight. Love to have sights like the g2.
Odd. I sent in my 9shot Taurus 22 revolver in to get fixed for FTF. Got it back in a week all fixed and in a new box. My experience with Taurus cs is great.
@@MarksmanTV The lawsuit was NOT about the PT111 (Millenium) G2, but rather its predecessor lines of pistols. @@MarksmanTV I sent 2 of my brand new G2C's in for factory repair approximately November 2018 and received one back in 10 days and the other in 12 days.
Taurus G3s takes Sig 226 mags just like the PT111 and G2Cs do also lifetime warranty not to mention double strike capability. Taurus is moving there HQ and Warranty Dept to Bainbridge Georgia which will be a plus in turn around time of getting firearm back if any issues arise.
@@slicksmokegaming9857 continuous trigger pull striking the primer with the firing pin on the bullet without having to engage the slide to put a bullet in the chamber. Some bullets especially those in mass quantities that are boxed together may have primer issues from clanking around against each along with quality control at the ammo plant not being very thorough on the product prior to being boxed and shipped. Double strike helps fire the projectile if that primer is salvageable to do so without dumping the bullet out as a loss or a dud
Love my G3C. Very dependable and worth every penny spent. Looking at purchasing the GC 4. Very impressed with it and everything I've heard and read about that particular weapon.
One of the most thorough breakdowns of information I’ve ever heard. Excellent info-video! I actually own 3 Taurus G2C’s that are my “stash & forget” in my vehicles. If my car gets broken into (it’s happened before & had a Kimber stolen, ouch!) & they happen to find it, my bank acct won’t hurt as much to replace it. My Glock 45, 9mm is my EDC & my Glock 23 is my nightstand centinel, I agree, once a Glock man, always a Glock man! Still Taurus pleasantly surprised me with their product at the range bought 2 more - definitely recommend these for people on a budget!
I haven't seen much on the new Taurus th9c which I bought what an excellent firearm when it first hit the market it was holding the price at $285 ish I waited a little bit and picked mine up for $265. This is my 3rd Taurus I've had outstanding luck with my Taurus FIREARMS. I really like the 17 round magazine in a carry gun that is light 25 ounces. I have pretty big hands, this gun is very comfortable and very smooth and accurate.
If you have an MCK or are considering one the Manuel safety of the Taurus makes the MCK much safer as the trigger is exposed when in the MCK. The G3 with MCK Gen2 and red dot is awesome. My wife a a friend of hers hated trying to shoot a pistol but with the MCK they love shooting it. On their first day shooting it the were consistly hitting 6" paper plates at just over thirty feet within 20 minutes. Also, it seemed to be easier for them to practice safety measures with the pistol in the MCK.
Regarding Glock...I bought a Glock 23 Gen 3 in a private sale in Atlanta, GA. I drove the gun to Glock in Smyrna, GA and was amazed. Glock took the gun and literally replaced all of the parts in the gun that the Glock tech thought needed changed and took the magazines that I had purchased in the sale and replace the springs and followers. He fired it to make sure it fit his specifications, cleaned the gun and brought it back to me while I waited in the waiting area. No Cost!!!The entire experience lasted about 45 min. I have been a Glock guy ever since.
Dave, I live in Atlanta, so I have experienced the same thing. Glock has fantastic customer service. I am now a factory certified Glock Armorer, so I do take care of my own firearms. I bought a police trade-in Glock 22, 40 cal, I got it in the mail, I took it straight to Glock, they went through it and totally rebuilt the firearm, including new magazines, didn't charge me a penny. On the other hand, I have owned Taurus firearms for years and love them also. Some people say they are junk, I have no idea what they are talking about, I have never had one misfire or problems with any of the guns. I would never be afraid to carry a Taurus with me for protection. I am seriously considering trying my luck with the G3, cannot believe how inexpensive they are and looks like very nice quality.
The G3 and the G19 are both about 7.3” overall length. Almost exactly the same. The G3 is a smidge taller, though and a tiny bit heavier. Negligible difference. I have the Taurus G3C and the GX4 and I’m a heartbeat away from snagging a G3.
first time buyer and I got the Taurus G3 ...with the money saved from getting the Glock 19 I also got a .22 just to practice SAFELY and learn marksmanship !
I know it's not a 19, but I bought a Glock 34 a couple months back and had issues with it straight out the box not returning to battery. Tried different ammo, tried cleaning it, and made sure it wasn't operator error, still had issues. It's up for consignment now. Would much rather give this gun a try over any other Glock now.
Glock has a lifetime warranty. Give them a call and they'll help you fix the issue even if that means shipping it to them. I have a G34 Gen 5 and it's my favorite shooter right now.
I just wish more people carried the new Taurus’. We need more aftermarket stuff. For a g2c I can only get mags, one or two diff triggers, and one or two sights. I wish I could get more mods and sights for the g2c. Please spread the word that we need more aftermarket stuff for Taurus!
Damned good video and analysis. BTW, I had to return a big cylinder Judge 45 to Taurus once, as the gun had obviously been shot a LOT by some member in the supply chain, and then apparently switched into a 'new' box to be sold as a totally new weapon. Made one call to the dealer, he called the distributor, I then brought the gun in to his shop a few hours later, had a new, UNFIRED marvelously machined Judge in my hand in about 37 hours..... Only Taurus I ever had to return ( I did have a Rossi 92 lever gun, I had 'tuned up' to smooth the feed ramp and prevent damage to my thumb from loading thru the sharp edged side loading gate- the weapon itself , 357mag, has performed perfectly ever since, and my thumb is still with me LOL)
Good job thanks! I'll pick the G3 could careless about the back strap I own a GC3 great pistol I don't work at a gun shop so my guns don't grow on trees I appreciate you sharing your comparison
I have both and the only huge difference for me was that the G3 has a longer pull on the trigger. Which could be changed. I fed hornady critical rounds in both and neither one gave me trouble
I personally have owned a Taurus and I love the Taurus. You have much more aftermarket, reliability, customer service wise. You also have way more accessories for a much better price option instead of spending $500 on a new slide I can literally spend $500 on a flashlight, laser, red dot and a slide from Taurus
Great comparison. I have also owned Glock in the past and recently purchased a Taurus G3. I was skeptical about buying from Taurus but I found a lot of positive information and handled the gun and liked it. My wife and I were looking to switch from 40 to 9 and didn’t want to break the bank. Walked away with 2 Taurus’ for the price of my old Glock 22. I got the G3 and she got a TH9. I’ve yet to shoot it but I really like the feel, grip angle was very nice. Seems like a good gun but time will tell!
I got me a Taurus G3 two years ago Or maybe a year ago. It's a good purchase. I'm happy with it. I've fired thousands of rounds on this gun. I mean thousands. It is perfect. And for the money you can't go wrong. It's not cheap. It's affordable. I only paid $250 for it. Now I'm going to purchase the G3 tactical. I don't mind spending the money on a quality gun. I have spent many thousands of dollars on guns and ammo and I have also spent many thousands of dollars on taxidermist jobs. The Taurus G3 is just affordable. The quality is definitely there.
I’m pretty new to the gun world but I just put 100 rounds through the G3 I bought last week and so far I like shooting it better than the Glock 19. I actually like the G3’s trigger more than the Glock. In addition I spent $240 instead of $500. More money to go to the range and buy ammo.
Very happy with my G3c, 2k rounds with no issues. I bought it after research because it is affordable and I actually like having a real safety in addition to trigger safety. Customer service - last year (2022) had an issue with my Heritage revolver (now owned by Taurus). They sent shipping tag and had it back in 12 days, fixed. Equivalent service on a $175 pistol that I got from Springfield when my $1200 EMP had to go back out of the box. I think Taurus has upped their game.
I had a Taurus 709 Slim with over 5,000 failure-free rounds. It ran everything my Glock 19 did. I also have the Taurus Spectrum which has over 2,500 rounds without failure. I love both, but recently replaced the 709 with a Glock 43X. I’ve also had some Taurus guns that didn’t pan out, i.e., the PT 22 and PT 738. The PT 22 made 3 warranty trips to Taurus that ended in them giving me a “free” G2 Millennium for the trouble. My PT 738 made 2 warranty trips, but never worked to where I’d carry it. With the Spectrum, no need for 738. Each of my warranty experiences with Taurus were 100% covered by them, but were 2-3 months each time. While the time is a negative, what they did was good.
A G2C fitted with a 15 round mag replaced my Glock 19. Better grip angle, thumb safety, second strike ability and of course less than half the price! Now I have a G3 with stainless slide for $279.95 at Palmetto State Armory , Olight and XS big dot sights. No more Glocks! They have been overpriced for years!
I may be moving to a free state soon & may trade in my G26. I like the Glock grip angle, so I am leaning toward a G19 over a G3 or IWI Masada. What do you reckon?
I feel you.. I was only really using mine for work due to it was a requirement but once I got home my g2c and 709s was my EDC.. love them way more than my glock 19 or 17.. loved them so much I went and got a spare of both and two of the g3c. Now that I'm retired, to tell you the truth my glocks really don't get used but maybe once in a while at the range.. but as for my 709s and g2c be used as EDC by me and my wife for years now with no problems at all.. since I've add the g3c to the collection, sometimes I carry it instead of the 709s but still find myself using the g2c more..
@@tytaylor4305 dang.. ls the Taurus g3 really reliable? I will be leaving my family for an extended period of time and the wife wants a firearm at the house. (She has a bit of experience handling firearms and will take classes before I leave) I was looking at the Glock 19 for her for home defense but the price tag is a little right now 😬 If someone is willing choose a G3 in a possible life or death situation then it can’t be too bad right?
I have a glock 43x and a g2c.. between the 2 not really any difference in the feel of shooting other than I like the taurus trigger better.. once the slide is racked the take up is feather light to a definite wall then bang.. the g3 is just the big brother with a little better trigger.. and I really like the trigger on the g2c so the g3 has an awesome trigger .. as far as longevity time will tell.. but so far out of 4 g2c's..I still own them and a g3 I have not had an issue.. pretty good batting average if you ask me
Both of these weapons are what I consider to be excellent firearms. I have fired the Glock but own the Taurus and it has worked perfectly. But either weapon will work just fine for everything except hunting for bears I guess, ha ha.
I own the g2c and the G3 if you don't like them then you don't like them based solely on the fact that they had a different name than what you prefer these guns are remarkably good for the price
Great video. Your experience with Taurus was quite different from mine. I sent my Taurus PT 24/7 G2 9mm pistol to them for repair (under warranty) and got the gun back in under 6 weeks. I called Customer Service to let them know I had bought a house and would soon be moving, so I needed the gun back ASAP. They expedited the repair and return shipment. The gun works flawlessly. The problem I had was the result of using steel cased ammo. I don't use that ammo now and I've had NO issues with the gun since.
Taurus also has 32 round magazines. I just bought one about an hour ago. From what I can tell, aside from name fame, I see no reason to buy a Glock 19. They're pretty much the same gun, save some minor features and price. I see nothing that indicates to me that a Glock is worth the price, especially since I could buy a second G3 for the price of a single Glock (in pre-pandemic value). Needless to say, if the G3 didn't exist, I would still have to leave my house in the morning defenseless. Now, I'm going for my CCW on Monday and have a holster coming in the morning. Thank you Taurus.
JMO- Glocks are great guns, I have owned a 17 and 19 and they worked flawless. I also have a Taurus G2c and G3, I have put thousands of rounds through the G2c with no issues and about 3000 rounds through the G3 also with no issues......because of this I sold my Glocks and pocketed that money for future firearm purchases. Bottom line Glock is a great overpriced gun, Taurus G2c and G3 are great lower priced guns. The only issues I have ever had with Glocks are they have a generic feel in my hand and never felt fully comfortable, kinda like someone giving you a soft handshake.
brian jackson I just purchased the Canik TP9SFx and I love it. Amazing weapon. Highly accurate and came with a Viper red dot. On a side note, I am now considering a Taurus G3....
@@YawYan_fighterAlex I like the look of them that’s not the point and I own a few. Put your life behind something that’s tried and true not cheaper in price.
Taurus g3c may be the best 9mm compact handgun ever made. Over 4k rounds down range, no issues at all. Accurate, stays on target, reset is short allowing rapid fire. easy quick breakdown. All this for 249.00.! 300.00 for g3c with factory installed laser sight. I own 3
The safety on the g3 is a no go for me. I have been carrying Glock for years and that’s what I am used to. The safety will only cause problems if you are used to not having one..
Dave Mathis you don’t have to use it, the triggers are almost identical. So if you’re used to the glock you’ll be just fine with the Taurus if you ignore it for a fraction of the price
