There is cheap and there is frugal. You probably grew up like me. Mom and Dad grew up during the Depression. They passed it on to me reuse, repurpose, recycle. If you can't afford it you do without. Example Dad had a sileage cutter that was worn out. He sent me and my brother out with the cutting torch and grinder. We cut it apart and dressed up the metal. Dad took it and made a cherry picker. It was.heavy duty and we still use it over 50 years later.

@@stevenwagner9912 Yeah, my parents grew up in the Great Depression. We were working class and my friends and I rented cherry pickers and swapped engines and transmissions and sold cars when we were 16 and 17. We learned by trial and error and asking guys older than us for advice. We all had full time jobs and were a little wild but damn we had a good time and learned a lot.

@@johnelder4273 sounds like we would get along great. I enjoyed working on vehicles. Rebuilding engines swapping out parts etc. Miss it now that my body has broken down. Arthritis, ruptured discs, a bad hip have taken their toll. Still do as much as I can. I can still pop off primers when I can find them.

@@stevenwagner9912 LOL! We must be related. Arthritis, left hip replaced, pending left knee replacement. It's been a lot of years since I've done any serious engine work. Nothing but basic repairs now. I can't do any serious work on a modern car. I'm fortunate to live on 12 acres so I can shoot in my back yard. I find a little Kentucky Bourbon and water takes the edge off my arthritis. God bless you and yours.

Hello Joe. I just upgraded to the new Taurus G3x pistol and I gave my son the G3c pistol, which he loves. I can't stress enough how much I really like these G series pistols from Taurus.

As you know I have a handful of nice handguns, including S&W, Sig & Glock, but I always seem to grab my Taurus G3c or G3x when I head out into the hills. I am honestly very impressed with the Taurus G-series pistols. If you do decide to get another 9mm pistol I hope you take a look at the Taurus pistols (no, I'm not paid or compensated to say that). I think you would be glad you did. 👍👍

They must brainwash people to love Glock. There are lots of wonderful alternatives.

Bought a Glock 43x and a Taurus G2C, went to the range and shot both (brand new)… Glock jammed 4 times in 2 mags due to “limp wrist”… Taurus didnt jam 1 time through 50rnds

Good morning FD. I'm willing to bet that someday the G3x will be offered in .40 cal.

They used to make a PT111 in .40. Out of production for years now. If you scrounge around, you might get lucky and find one. I agree with you on .40. Carried G22 on duty for over 20yrs. The Dept switched to G17's. I retired a few yrs later. I still have a few personally owned .40's though.

@@mopesrus7266 As a now retired LEO myself, I carried everything from a Model 10 in .38Spl to a Colt's Trooper in .357 Magnum and later Ruger, Sig and lastly S&W M&P semi autos all in .45ACP. I found the .40S&W superior to ANY 9mm if for no other reason than the 9mm has to expand to .40 caliber to be anything approaching effective down range while the .40S&W starts out as an effective round that only gets better with equally well-designed projectiles. To be perfectly honest my preferred CCW is a GI 1911A1 though my nearly forty-year-old DAO Smith & Wesson in .40S&W is my most often carried pistol loaded with 155grn +P JHPs. I ALWAYS carry two spare magazines regardless of which pistol I carry especially when a single stack (like my trusty S&W "compact" happens to be) is the choice of the day or season. But then if a revolver happens to be my carry weapon of choice, I always have two speed loaders close to hand.

Yessir it's the dad of Taurus pt111 g2 is a solid gun my first pick up maybe 2ys ago

I've had my PT111 G2 for years. I use Sig P226 high-cap magazines with Springfield XD sleeves. They look and function like they were made for each other. Replaced sights with Tru Glo TFO made for Glock. Stainless steel guide rod and spring installed. I refer to it as my Franken pistol.

Taurus is offering a rebate on the G3C right now, and I have seen them for under $200. After rebate. Don’t need it, but after the video on it and considering the low price, I may have to saddle up, just because.

I highly recommend the G3c if you have medium size hands but you might want to consider the 3x if you have larger hands like I do. I just might do a follow-up on the 3c pistol and I might also do a video where I have my son compare the 3c and 3x side-by-side to get his opinion.

And also Galloway makes a +3 mag extension for the G3 that will work on all Taurus mags.

@@theurbanartist775 yeah, there's a lot of aftermarket making good in a good product live the Taurus. Have you checked out the brand new G3x and G3xl. Both innovative but I love the G3x. It's what I ended up making with my upgrades.

I did forget to mention that the G3x does not have an external safety.....yet. I actually prefer no external safety on a defensive carry firearm. My son was at work today when I made this video but hopefully he will be in our next video.

I feel the same way. Trying to get Kel-Tec P-32 .32 ACP, super slim and light guns. Prices on the ammo honestly aren't much different than before 2020 funny enough.
