I've had the older (non-poly) version for years. As long as it's not full of crud, it's ran anything I've put in it. I haven't tested them yet, but ProMag makes some metal affordable flush-fit mags for them. Again, untested, but they seem loads better than their 10/22 mags. The only issue/fix I've had to do in 13+ yrs. was user induced. Can't guten tight the grip screws down too hard on the thin plastic grips that they come with. Pulled the screws through and decided to pick up a rubber 1pc wrap-around set on eBay after that.
its not a berretta. when i was a yout i managed a pawn shop clone of a model 10 s&w made by taurus, that thing shaved lead, and the trigger was serrated and so hard to pull i ended up with a blister on my finger. took it back he let me trade it for a llama martial .38 with a 6 in vent rib barrel that shot like butter. it had the wide trigger and hammer like the model 19 smith. i miss that llama, it got heisted from me by a "friend".
Up date mine even shoots the remington golden bullet bulk crap now surprised the he'll out of me at just how reliable this little pistol is and 9 federal punch lr in this little gun would be a nasty surprise for a would be mugger,it would be plenty effective in a situation that you needed it
They like cci mini mags, stingers, and aguila, this pistol requires a break in period its a beretta 21 clone and is just as good as the beretta, they say don't shoot hyper velocity ammo in it but it's still a standard pressure load case is longer it uses slower burning powder is all nice fireballs out of the muzzle to lol, shoot the he'll out of it and it will serve you well
Just sucks they cost 3x more. There's not doubt they're a better gun... but if you don't have a lot of money, the PT-22 Poly is not a bad firearm. Some people would argue that there are better firearms for around the same price, including used firearms... but these aren't as bad as some people make them out to be. When they do have problems they're almost always very easy to get running and once you get them running they usually remain reliable as long as you maintain them.
For long time I have been looking to the Taurus PT 22 and willing to purchase it. On the 29th December 2022 this was sold for 201US$. When I went on the 15th Jan 2023 to buy it, all of a sudden the price had jumped to 243US$, representing a hefty 21% increase for the same firearm - no extra features added. Same item. I reached out to Taurus to show them my disappointment ( how many of you have received a 21% increase?) and here below a copy and paste of their answer, My name is Hazel with Taurus customer service. I have received your email this morning. I do apologize that you are unhappy. Taurus only Taurus USA I consider this answer a BLESSING; because it gives me a true reality check of what the customer service is in this company and what YOU WILL expect, when something goes wrong with your Firearm (and Taurus is notorious for quality issues) Therefore God blessing my letter to them, as it gave me the possibility to have an immediate reality check of what to expect from their customer service in the future: CARELESSNESS.
Would you have been satisfied with Hazel's letter if it included all the logical reasons why the price increased... things like increased supply cost and logistics for example ? I precieve that you would not... 🤔
