I love the 322 but the mags should've been made out of stainless. I think the polymer is what causes the problems with them. The 322 is a supremely accurate long range handgun. Good review Buckeye!

@@thepistolguy859 The issue with the sig mags is when they are loaded past 13rds for prolonged periods. If you just take an empty mag and load it to 20 they work fine. The mags should be steel.

Nice break down and summary. I was not looking for target pistols for my .22 rimfire pistols, just plinkers for practice, training, small game, and varmint control. I used to have a target .22 rimfire Smith Model 422. Great little pistol for shooting the top of bowling pins so they topple in competition matches that I used it for. Easy to clean with the rear partial slide. Fixed low set target match barrel. Adjustable rear target sight. Very accurate. Now though I am happy with just my two cheap plinkers, a Heritage Rough Rider and a Phoenix Arms HP22A. Thanks for sharing.

Appreciate the review.I own both and have different feelings about the triggers. I’d recommend investing in a trigger weight gauge. The Taurus measures a full pound heavier than the sig, at least on my copies.
@BuckeyeBallistics
@BuckeyeBallistics 6 месяцев назад
Yeah I intend to get one soon, but I have borrowed Johns (Boomsticks) trigger gauge and it said close to what I was guessing on a couple guns. Also another youtuber I talk to swears his P322 is only like 2.5lbs trigger pull (which seems unlikely to me). I have experienced as well, lots of triggers being super heavy out of the box, literally lightening by several pounds over a few hundred rounds. Basically, unfortunately, in budget priced guns the trigger weights can be all over the place from one example to the next. But I do fully intend on getting a trigger gauge very soon and incorporating that into all future reviews once aquired...

I own both and I prefer the Taurus over the SIG because it feels better in my hand and the price is better on the Taurus and the overall feel is better on the Taurus but I wish the Taurus had night sights and I like the take down on the Taurus and it just shoots and shoots. I do like the the 20 rounds on the SIG over 16 on the Taurus. They are both good 22LR but I would recommend the Taurus over the SIG.😊

Just got the sig a month ago, barrell has no lead issues, mag seems to be very particular about loading, the trigger doesn't have the double wall you mention, strange that yours does, I'd send it back. Mine has a light pull. It's not perfect, but none of them are, just pick whichever.

I hated the weird trigger articulation in the TX22. The TandemKross trigger replacement is a huge improvement. I also find the ergonomics of the TX22 funky as well, and I have large hands.

I recently purchased the Sig P322 hoping I would end up with a good one after a lot of negative reviews. Mine was made in Jan 2023 so I knew I had a better chance with some of the changes they had made and knowing a few friends who have the 'newer generation' were having no issues. All I can say is that this pistol has become my number one 22LR pistol beating my TX22 competition in every way. It has had 0 FTF, 0 FTE, 0 light primer strkes running with suppressor for the first 1000 rounds. It shoots MUCH more accurately (grapefruit size groups standing at 25 yards) than my TX22. The groups with the TX22 at 25 yards open up quite a bit more. Running holoson 407k on Sig and Vortex Venom on TX22. Both guns are equally as reliable and has eaten everything I tried which include Aguila HV copper RN 1255 fps, Norma Tac 22 1100 fps, Federal American Eagle 970 fps, CCI SV 1070 fps, and CCI Quiet 835 fps. Only time I had light primer strikes with both was when I ran the CCI quiet 835 fps without suppressor (out of 20, maybe 2 wouldn't cycle). This pistol is awesome!

I confess a bit of bias toward the P322, but don’t have one. I’d heard that they suffer(ed?) from bad barrel lead buildup. I’d been kicking around picking up a couple of affordable .22 pistols for training new shooters, and right now it’s between the Taurus TX22 and the Kel Tek P17. I would consider the P322 or a S&W M&P 22 Compact more of a personal defensive training pistol or even EDC and kick myself for not buying a couple of the M&Ps when PSA was offering them for under $280 before COVID. Regardless, the Taurus would still fill the bill for an affordable training pistol as long as you go in realizing that there may be certain issues and just be calm and polite and let warranty take care of them.
@BuckeyeBallistics
@BuckeyeBallistics 7 месяцев назад
I don't think you're going to have any issues if you buy a brand new one, as they've been on the market for a few years so I'm sure they've worked all the kinks out. The P322 suffered from the lead fouling issue and light primer strikes upon release, but those issues have been corrected. The TX22 suffered from the same lead fouling issue and broken slides, but those issues have been adressed as well. But yes, if anything happens, Taurus has a lifetime warranty and I've been through their customer service for that warranty work twice and it was a breeze both times.

Sig offers a discount for instructors. The P322 is $314 which is $135 off msrp. I run about 50-75 proficiency students a month with all shooting 22LR the first hour. I've recently decided to switch out to the P322 from the TX22.

Well now this is a interesting video and a very interesting comparison. I own a Taurus TX22 competition and a Sig Sauer p322. I personally prefer the Sig Sauer p322. However, the Taurus tx22 is definitely my number Two choice. The way I look at it you cannot go wrong on either one. The one thing that I do like better about the Sig Sauer p322 is that it will handle any bulk ammo that I have ran through it.However, the Taurus is a little bit finicky with some of the bulk ammo.

It's worth noting that you own the taurus and have way more trigger time on it, so that no doubt factors into your results. I don't like the flat trigger in the sig, i swapped it out for the curved trigger it comes with. The sig light primer issue was an extremely easy fix, there are vids on youtube showing what to do.

I could go on a tangent here but I'll just say I disagree with your first sentence.
@Valorius
@Valorius 7 месяцев назад
@@BuckeyeBallistics you don't have way more Trigger Time on the taurus? I can tell you if I picked up a Taurus and my Sig the the Sig would automatically have a big advantage because of how many rounds I put through it. Next time you get to shoot the sig try it with the curved trigger, it only takes like 20 seconds to change. You might like it better that way, I like it way better with the curved trigger.
@BuckeyeBallistics
@BuckeyeBallistics 7 месяцев назад
The second half of your first sentence, after the comma... It's my job to be good with guns. I pick up a new to me pistol and start drilling targets immediately with the first mag with no prior shots. I don't need that much trigger time to get used to a new gun- and this is the third time I have shot this Sig. I'm good to go after the first mag. There's the tangent in a nutshell...

Yeah well my intimate familiarity comes on much quicker than yours apparently- happens when you shoot nearly 3 dozen different pistols in a single year for a living. You Need to throw in the Keltec p17 for comparison. I have one and the accuracy and dependability is very good.
@BuckeyeBallistics
@BuckeyeBallistics 6 месяцев назад
I reviewed the P17 recently (loved it). Not really the same catagory though because it's so much smaller, but I may consider doing the comparison. You are the 2nd or 3rd person to suggest this. However, I think you guys will be upset when I pick the P322 and TX22 over the P17 because they *are* going to be easier to shoot and more accurate because they are full sized guns. That's why I said, not really the same catagory, so not really a fair comparison for the P17. Now P17 vs LCP .22, that would be a fair comparison I would think. Additional thoughts?
