@@chazzcoolidge2654 My first one got side-swiped by someone driving through a stop sign in rush hour traffic, spun me into oncoming traffic and two more cars piled into me - all 4 cars written off, mine was they only one that could still be driven. My second one I kept for 9 years & only sold because we needed something with 4 doors for the family. They are highly under-rated cars.

@RARAYAYA RAA Yeah I had two of them back in the day (they are called Soarers here, but same thing just RHD) a V8 and a inline 6 - they were both awesome cars - neither of them very fast but just so nice to cover miles in, and nice to look at too.

I remember Radio Shack. There was one in the town I lived near years back. It was a really nice place. A bit cluttered, but they had a train set running year round, and row after row of switches to fiddle with.

Except that mid sump isn’t a thing. It’s front sump and rear sump. Oh and heater control valves for the SC300 aren’t discontinued. Just a few things Jared is wrong about 😂

My first two cars were eventually sold to scrappers; one of them went through one more owner, first, but...let's just say '99 Escorts aren't the most loved of beasts. I just sold my third car to a coworker recently. He's going to fix it up for his granddaughter. It was just a first-gen Focus, but...I have a lot of memories with it. I kissed my wife for the first time in that car. I moved out of my parents' house in it. I drove it to the courthouse for my wedding...it's strange seeing it in the parking lot at work, and knowing I didn't drive it there.

FYI the CT12's don't blow up straight away Freddy... I had a set going on near 12 years and still boosting to 20psi. The key is to remove the stock y pipe, and replace it with something more free-flowing. The reason is that the cast iron y pipe retains heat and delaminates the stock ceramic wheels once the car is switched off. With a new big dump pipe, the stock twins can provide a quite decent power output.

I can imagine the feeling. My fist car sat in backyard for a few years after electronics failed. Rear brakes got stuck. Engine still was great. But anyway I was sitting behind the steering wheel while the car was dragged to scrap yard. The car really did not want to go, one wheel was still stuck all the way to junk yard.

The roof was pushed in first making its structure weak. Hence convertibles have beefed up frames and when you rut a roof off a uni body car your doors dont close well cause rhe car saggs. Only thing that keeps the rear end connected to the front end is your floor and roof unless you have a full size ladder frame like a truck, jeep, or land yacht.

Ben allen same here! It was my high school car back in 2001. Mine was black, 7mge, leather and absolutely immaculate. I ended up doing a rather poor job of swapping in a 7mgte and hacking up a beautiful car in the process. I was young and dumb at the time, for sure..After all that, I traded it for a very used and abused SR5 V6 4WD Toyota pickup. I miss that Mkiii still to this day, and would love to find it again.

Oh Tavarish, I feel so bad for you! Your first build and now a folded up pretzel. This was as hard to watch as it was for you. Years ago I lived in Germany and was into old VW's and had one that I did the same with but it was still running, flashers blinking and the overhead crane dropped down and took it away. Still running and blinkers flashing. Was a bitter end to a once proud car. Look at it this way my friend, there will be others in your future so concentrate on the next build you are doing. It would have been funny if they were waiting for the Lexus to be crushed , then the machine picked up Jareds Titan instead. Jared is a real good friend and an addition to the channel.

Pretty much did the same thing to my S10. I spent a lot of time trying to fix it up. Out of good conscious, not sell it to someone else. It was leaking oil and towards the end it had nice little ticking noise. Took the badging off the tailgate as a keepsake. Did the same to my current car.

It's always emotional when you have to give up a piece of your past. Even if you replace the car with a better one, it's not the same car. It's the circle of automotive life: build, rework, crush, replace, repeat.

I know that feeling. My high school car which I spent many hours working on was totaled a week after I sold it. I saw it the ditch because the new owner abandoned it. The county tried to say I was responsible for the removal but my bill of sale was done I I did my portion of title transfer right away. The state told the county I was no longer the owner. But it was sad seeing it totalled.
