My company gives it's employees profit sharing every year. Usually it's about $7k - $15k a year for thousands of employees. This is a very nice bonus for the little guy. Government takes half of it right away.
I never knew anything about Kennedy other than he was a Democrat and have been opposed to him ever since I knew, but I I can’t imagine a 90% or even a 70% tax. Thank you Kennedy.
That's closed minded. I disagree with Democrats on most things too, but Kennedy is still one of my favorite presidents for the following reasons: -He commanded PT boats during WWII as an officer in the Naval Reserve. -He challenged and inspired America to land on the moon and we did. I was a little disappointed to find out that he was against the space program until the Soviets sent Yuri Gagarin to space, but I think he made up for it. The speech he delivered at Rice University was the finest, most vision-filled speech I have heard from any president. See link below: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ouRbkBAOGEw.html -He avoided a nuclear war during the Cuban Missile Crisis and showed strength against the USSR. -Supported civil rights -Tax cuts mentioned in Stossel's video (I'm adding this now that I know) In summary, Kennedy did many things to better America and the world, so that's why I like him regardless of the political side he was aligned with. It's a real shame that America is so polarized now that a person's party affiliation instantly invalidates everything else about that person to the many people on the opposite side.
Paul Hemsworth I really respect Kennedy after what you said. Although- I am not a supporter of Black’s Civil Rights. Many have ended up in jail, idolize rappers (Lebron James is just one of the many influential black athletes who promotes his good relationship with Drake), and seem to disrepect our country. While I know not all blacks are that way, it is a big portion of them, and I really think America should have a policy of “Like it or leave.” I’m not saying every black man should get a tattoo of the American flag on their face, but they need to stand for the anthem. Trayvon (Treyvon, idk) Martin was on drugs, and probably most blacks who say they’re innocent are most likely guilty. White people too always claim they’re innocent, and I like seeing all races serve their time, but I am for a stricter punishment system. We house far too many prisoners and the taxpayers are paying for it. We should re-incorporate the chain gang, or make them operate restaurants which all the proceeds go to funding te jails. As for the division....Well CNN and “Fake News” have definitely enflamed the situation. Personally I think there should parts deleted from our society: welfare without a job, or any handout that’s supposed to be a supplement for that matter that people take advantage of and make that their main source of income. There is too many people unwilling to work that use government handouts and the Democrats are trying to make a welfare state. I believe the Democratic party should be abolished. That would make the government smaller and we would have less issues to decide on.
When you said "Like it or leave it" I was reminded of the many people who said they'd move to Canada if Trump became president. Well, I hope most of them did move and the leftovers follow soon. In addition to manipulation by the media, there are many bad parents and teachers (a lack of parenting in some cases) and that contributes to the problems you mentioned. It's unfortunate because there are many people who could have a positive or at least neutral impact on society if their parents just taught them independence and the other values that are needed for success in life. I certainly agree that we should still be strict and strive for less government.
This is some of the most ignorant, false and baseless garbage I have ever read. How do you know Trayvon Martin was "on drugs"? Even if he was, does that now warrant a death sentence? You lack the ability to see anything from a different perspective. This ability is a crucial tool for a person to continue growing intellectually throughout their entire life.
President Kennedy was killed because he was against most of what the DemonRats wanted back in 1962, he did NOT want to be in a war in Vietnam, he was against the Federal Reserve and a long list of DemonRat programs. that were are bad for the Country. LBJ had him killed so he could run the show and keep the WAR MACHINE of the LEFT running strong. Lots of Union money to be made in making weapons for war. the list is to long to go through here. Kennedy was a Democrat but he was a good president the one and only Democrat that didn't lie his ass off like every DemonRat does today.
Everyone should pay a 10% federal tax. With this they could fund the military which is all they should be in charge of doing. With a smaller budget, remove programs that shouldn’t be funded and the rest can be done at a state level. Let states decide on wether they wanna fund welfare and social programs or fund infrastructure and useful programs.
Rich people can pay $1000s per hour for lawyers and accountants who know all the 3000 pages of the Tax Code + the precedents, etc. That is why they often pay pennies on the dollar paid by middle class and low income people. No sensible individual would study that by himself. Same goes for "beehive" and agricultural exceptions etc. Wealthy people can afford to buy just the land that qualifies, then pay farmers and beekeepers to work there, which allows them to pay pennies on their huge lands and mansions. But a regular guy could not do it, probably, even if he decided to become a full time farmer. I've heard they tried to simplify the code, but accountant lobby was against that.
Coolidge actually talked about taxes stifling growth long before JFK. He talked of "scientific taxation", the view that high taxes could actually curtail growth so much that review could decline.
do you did this now or you just upload parts of previous full eposides? btw you definitely deserve bigger popularity, more people need to hear this stuff..
Ive done taxes professionally for about 5 years now. I won't say it is the easiest thing, but if you can read and do basic math, it's just a matter of time. A regular seeming tax return on paper probably take 10-30 minutes, depending on what you qualify for. But I agree they take too much and they have made it far more intricate than it has to be for something we do annually.
This is an interesting episode. I would like to find a copy of "An Inconvenient Tax." George Harrison of the Beatles wrote the song "Taxman" to complain about the British 95% tax rates.
Fairtax. It gets rid of the IRS and income tax along with the onerous waste of money and energy businesses and individuals spend on tax preparation and compliance. It also gets rid of corporate income tax which instantly turns the U.S. into an international tax haven where businesses would be fighting each other to relocate here. That means jobs plus as much as a billion dollars to spend as you and your company want instead of on tax preparation.
Taxes should be like say I lived on an island with 3 neighbors and say I wanted to get a bridge to the land so then like I go pitch my idea to my neighbors and they like it and we agree on a percent of our money to take out every time we get paid until we have enough to pay for a bridge then we build the bridge then the “tax” would go away
That's a single tax, let us not forget the 40-50 other taxes both federal and state/local. (sales tax property tax etc...) Probably take home 1-2 hours of work after those.
The best question for politicians is where does money come from? How are you going to pay for it? Whose taxes are you going to raise(everyone's). How much of my money are you taking? Taxing people to give to other people is theft. The robin hood mentality does not help anyone. It make people dependent on the government and the people who pay are likely to quit so they don't have to pay for others.
I've been doing my own taxes since I was 16. And now you can use tax software (probably what Bob uses) which does all the work for you Even with kids, houses, home business, investments - it's just not that difficult. Your tax guy simply uses the information you give him - the same information you can type into your computer. 99% of the tax code is there because of special interest lobbying which doesn't affect 99% of taxpayers.
The “Flat Tax” taxes everything you BUY! It doesn’t matter where your income came from, if you buy something you’re going to pay the tax. $50 shoes or $500 shoes, your choice, pay the tax. New car, pay the tax. Used car, no tax, it’s already been paid. There has got to be a better way than the current system.
If the tax code had zero deductions and only one or two rates for all income types. Man. It would probably be a lot harder to dodge around it and people would probably be more willing to just pay and be done with it. But no, it is 3000+ pages of loopholes and garbage.
What else happened in 1913 when the IRS was formed John? The Federal Reserve act perhaps? If we are going to tell the truth about taxation and what has happened to our money, let's tell all of the truth....shall we?
@@DMichaelAtLarge The Federal Reserve is more than a "pet peeve". It CREATED a permanent income tax, financed world wars, the military industrial complex and the deep state. The catastrophic globalism that we now suffer from has been the goal of these banksters since it's inception. It's phony money and real debt. It's debasement of the currency in which every 1913 dollar is now worth $0.02.. Quite the pet peeve I'd say. If we genuinely want to fix the monetary system that created "Tax Day In America" among many other liberty and prosperity crushing things, we will have to get rid of the federal reserve system first and foremost. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-cItoilNxdCs.html
Jesus christ, the amount of paper wasted is fucking incredible. People are anal about recycling and whatnot, but it’s inefficient systems like this that actually cause the most pollution.
Not saying that the amount of taxation is right but doing taxes is not anywhere near how complicated is you make it seem. Been doing it myself since 18 and has never taken more than an hour of my time.
"The only people who understand this [the tax code] are the specialists"~ John Stossel Actually Mr Stossel even the specialist often can;t agree on the tax code and that's because it is not a consistent set of rules but a lot of contradictions designed to allow the government to selectively prosecute citizens. Break the tax law and if you can find favor with those in charge then the IRS will rule in your favor by interpreting the code in your favor if however you can not find favor then the code will be ruled against you. Its easier to claim this is conspiracy theory then to admit we all voluntarily participate in government lead, legalized theft.
Mistake is: Old economic formula does NOT work in light-out-factories and global economy. More production doesn't mean more jobs. Tripling Walmart sales will not create jobs in China.
More production doesn’t mean more jobs. True, it means machines are doing the work which means lower prices. So we have the same product and more money to spend elsewhere.
Here is your mistake. An an employer, - Why should i hire you when machine are doing the work. - Why should i pay you more when i can speed up machines. You don't have a job and money in the first place to save money. We are in a different economic world.
Hi I am a Muslim and we have taxes which is 2.5 per cent of the whole money either the poor nothing on it because they do not have the money I apologize to you English I am not the mother tongue What do you think?
The Income tax is not about funding government but controlling the citizenry thru control of their money. Why do you think the government prefers an Income tax versus something more easy to deal with like a national sales tax? You can't buy votes nearly as easy with a sales tax then the income tax. More importantly a sales tax does not allow the feds intrusion into your private financial affairs. Its also theoretically possible to abstain from paying taxes under a national sales tax by being self sufficient. The federal income tax and to a lesser extent the state income tax (where one exists) is about control. Make no mistake about it that while there are more then enough politicians who like this control over the citizenry the persons who want an income tax the most are the true rich and powerful who operate quietly behind the scenes. Their control/influence over the politicians gives them a level of power impossible to obtain short of a dictatorial state. You can be arrested for not paying your income tax so the IRS has the power of government and all that comes with that you force all citizens to participate in what is legalized theft. If you do it its a crime but if government doe sit then its legal.
4:36 I started to read his closeup and found myself laughing at the absurdity of it.. Here is one paragraph of one page of one book... ouch... An organization exempt from taxation subsection (a) shall be subject to tax to the extent provided in parts II, III, and VI of this subchapter, but (notwithstanding parts II, III, and VI of this subchapter) shall be considered an organization exempt from income taxes for the purpose of any law which refers the organizations exempt from income taxes. I've read it a few times and it's SO cryptic. And needs drilling down into 6 6different sections and who knows how many trips down the rabbit hole those 6 sections will take you... Something has to change....
The rich already pay far more taxes proportional to the poor. Only business taxes can sometimes be lower than income taxes, due to exemptions. Sadly Trump likes to give exemptions as well. While increasing spending, this means taxing the future.
@@DMichaelAtLarge Maybe not he individually, but he's added a tax exemption for spending on children. Children need parental attention, not stuff. And tax exemptions make the tax code even more complicated. On the other hand, it does reduce the amount of taxes people pay...
@@DMichaelAtLarge He didn't have to cover ALL of taxation, but he could have at least mentioned that you don't actually have to file or pay income taxes.
Habitat for Humanity? Build two homes overseas? How far disconnected does a person have to be from reality to step over homeless people in his own country while promoting building homes for people in foreign countries? Tell me whose taxes created the safety and security that allowed you to become wealthy enough to send money overseas to build houses? Why not use that money to repay the society that helped you get rich? Something should start a show pointing out your hypocrisies.
