Stossel has received 19 Emmy Awards and has been honored five times for excellence in consumer reporting by the National Press Club. Other honors include the George Polk Award for Outstanding Local Reporting and the George Foster Peabody Award.

John Stossel makes some valid points, but he avoids comparing private institutions to public ones. This so-called "student choice" isn't about what's best for students-it's about what's best for adults pushing their own political agendas. I'm tired of this selfishness. Treating your kids like subhuman so you can show off that they went to some fancy school. Public education will forever be the way majority of kids will receive their education and you shouldn't just abandon it. I'm not trying to tell ya'll what to do with your kids. In fact, for majority of my life (up until Highschool) I attended a charter school! But if we are gonna talk about whats best for the populace and not just an individual level we must discuss all outcomes. What happens when funding for public schools is close to none (as poor as it already is) what is going to happen to people who can not afford alternatives in this high-inflation work yourself to death classist society we call "America."
Government IS the enemy of the people! Government lies to you so they can keep you down to a level where you can't help your self. If you make a little money on your own, they will remove the carrot from the stick. Government IS the enemy of the people! One practical thing to combat the obesity epidemic would be for the government not to pay for sugar sweetened beverages with food stamps or SNAP and get these beverages out of public school lunchrooms. We need to start somewhere. Current estimates are by 2030 50% of Americans will be obese.

There is a big problem on one wikipedia page. In the George Floyd trial it was agreed by both sides that Floyd didn't die from neck compression... he died from an overdose. Even the jurors have come out and admitted this. However the wikipedia page states that he died from "Cardiopulmonary arrest due to neck compression". I dare someone to correct that one.

Umm, to the African American female, there was the three fifth's compromise in the original constitution. So no, the founding fathers don't get a pass, they get a fail. Also, Stossel saying that the Constitution was designed to limit the government's power, is very misleading. The Constitution came about because the Articles of Confederation failed. It failed because the government had too little power, every state had it's own currency. So the Constitution created a stronger government than the articles of Confederation. That said, I totally agree that the government today has grown leaps and bounds from the government of President Washington and there is room to curtail government overreach.

In my opinion, all licensing boards should be abolished. Most could easily be replaced with verification boards and probably on a national, not state/regional level. These verification boards would simply verify that you are who you state you are, you have the education that you claim to to have, you have the training that you claim to have, and that you have not been convicted of unjustifiable violence or theft (probably excluding theft of water if very dehydrated or theft of food if starving).
I live, unfortunately, in a state where I see many Bernie (Sanders) bumper stickers. Bernie Sanders is a f**king communist and I am buying a bumper sticker "BERNIE IS A F**KING COMMUNIST" but I wouldn't be surprised if some of the "peaceful" protestors trashing my car.

Regarding Jim Carrey's defense of socialized medicine in Canada, what Mr. Carrey fails to realize is that the dead don't complain and the healthy with typical, simple health issues (some of which may even resolve on their own) are easily used as false instances of how "great" the socialized medicine system is.

I work in an upscale organics grocery and mercantile store. Every day I see well-dressed people, including students, coming in and buying expensive organics, steak, cakes, deli food, sodas, junk food, etc and paying with taxpayer dollars. Often, the purchaser will pay for the food with EBT and pay cash for alcohol. Very few people that I see daily use the EBT card for basics. Very few of the EBT users I see are older or frail or disabled. Time to begin scaling back the benefit, bit by bit.
