Great stuff. Rome as a parisite state is a major takeaway, as their tax system going bad which led to feudalist sharecropping is important note.

The Montaigne Fallacy doesn't even always happen in nature. Symbiosis is well-documented among organisms.

I hope someday there will be a program that will generate the most probable verbal response from notable deceased historical figures to any question posed. How good it would be to then ask of Jefferson, Payne or Franklin what they think of the present 'legal' morass we call this quasi-civilized society. Come on you history Geeks, get to programming this useful wonder, please.

And it shouldn't be for financing special interst groups, then it is parasitic tax

I am for less taxes, or outsourcing to private sector what can be done better there. But recall what happenes whenever there's chaos becouse of some natural disaster or civil unrest. People lose respect for other's property and loot, rob, steal and even kill. So if you want to protect your property and life you can do it yourself or collectivly, and if you do it collectivly tax is only way there aren't freeloaders. So distinction is that tax is for financing collective services as police and army

Xtrimm Hr Yeah, people do that WITH government right now. Also, you didn’t mention any of the stories of how people HELPED others VOLUNTARILY...receiving no compensation. And doing it better than any government agency that is paid for with stolen tax money.

So the Korean business owners protecting their families and businesses during the L.A. riots taxed each other? Seems like they voluntarily banded together to me.

But you confirm nature is blood thirsty 0-sum game most of the time, and symbiosis aint voluntary - for ex. plants canno't be not symbiotic. Sometimes symbiosis is a condition of life of particular plant. In this sense - there is no symbiosis, there is simple plants dependance. Those parts of nature canno't decide not to have the symbiosis which means it's something different than people interacting can have. Namely we have a time frame and can refuse to help the one that does not help back.

pipem4n You are mistaken in view of symbiosis.

Westerners do not know history well. Irak was never the first civilization nor was it Egypt. These civilizations came much after the Indian civilization which was there millions of years ago. Ancient Indian civilizations were advanced in many subjects including arts, science, astrology, astronomy, military warfare and all these subjects were taught in universities. The Arab and White race are but by-products ............ This is why they also do not know how taxes actually came about. Nonetheless, the lecture is quite interesting and makes a lot of sense when viewed for within the imaginable time range.
