Taylin's Story 

My 20 yr old daughter died of meningitis that the hospital ignored..it took her 3 weeks of being sent home an scared of what was happening to her..I will never get over her death..im so glad they helped your baby..your girls are precious

I got the flu in 1997 which ended up causing hydrocephlas needed a temporary shunt for a while my daughter was also born with hydrocephlas much love and respect to u taylin u are gorgeous xxx

As a Hydrocephalus patient myself, I know of some of the challenges that Taylin has gone thru....I was born in 1954,and to the doctors I looked normal....however, for years I had severe headaches that no one could figure out ( the technology wasn't there to find out what was wrong) and when I was 30 yrs old, I took my daughter to a Drs appt.( she had strep) and the doctor ( who was our primary and had brushed my symptoms off for years) took one look at me and make an immediate call to the hospital to get me an immediate CT-scan. I was shunted 3 days later,and was told after the surgery that had we waited 3-4 months I probably would have went to sleep and died. Since that time, I have underwent 32 shunt revisions....I have daily headaches and suffer from severe bouts of vomiting on a daily basis. While the doctors are reluctant to do any thing else, it's not easy living day to day....but I try to cherish the time I have had....I have had a wonderful life with a wonderful husband and I have managed to have 4 wonderful children ( 3 were born prior to my being shunted) .....

You have blessing that others will never know...humility, patience, true love...long suffering, yet full of joy....I have a brother who was burned 90 percent as a firefighter in the Newton Fire Dept. Much, long pain...He was blinded, hard of hearing...deformed...His wife stayed with him...He turned 79 Jan 17, 2021. This happened in 1993...It changes EVERYTHING...and EVERYTHING is so small when your loved one is suffering as your precious child did...We know...God bless all of you....You are what hero's are made of!

I was born at 29 weeks and I had spinal meningitis. I died three times and was on life support 5 times.

I have had hydrocephalus since I was born nearly 35 years ago..I have had 6 shunt surgeries to date..last surgery was July 1st 2010..

I had bacterial meningitis with blood poisoning back in 1969 when i was only 6 weeks old.Aalthough i have handicaps and psychiatric challenges it's a damn miracle i am alive and sane and avoided the worst handicaps got out deaf one side and lost an entire muscle group in my upper leg but the worst is the mood swings they can be exhausting and drain energy. Mind you the doctors flat out told my parents i had next to no chance to survive and they should prepare for funeral. But look at me i am here and enjoying life now even with less energy.

you people are lucky.. my friends daughter developed fever at 6 weeks old.. she took her to the e.r, they said it was a virus and sent her home on tylenol..the next morning she couldnt wake her.. she fell into coma and while she evetually came out of it her daughter is now deal blind.unable to swallow and needs total care.. she too had meningitis

I have Epilepsy it was caused by a 2Strokes I had one when I was 6months old then I develaped Epilepsy in the first grade then when I was 13 I had another Stroke and my Epilepsy got worse and I also have a shunt in my brain to cause if I dont I will have another Stroke or AVM and every 6months I have to get my shunt checked and a MRI for my Epilepsy and Stroke disorder and I have a VNS that helps my Epilepsy to

How does an infant get Salmonella? They are only on breast milk or formula.
