In this episode of Smith RC Studios we take out the VEKTA.5 with the 65 Supreme engine back out for some more fun! Unfortunately we had a small issue and the driveline got completely stock. We figured out the problem and fixed it at the end.

Yup I've had the bolts in clutch shoes come loose, better never had the brakes fail like that....but always a first for everything!!! Fix it up and get back at it!!! 👍👍💯

good run sux about the breaks that musta got hela hot to almost weld the pad to the rotor but hey thats 5thscale for ya youll get it back going great vid buddy

FYI I was told by several owners of vektas not recommended to run anything bigger than a 46 or 50, or you will have issues also they don't make upgrades for there drive trains 🤷‍♂️

The VEKTA itself is already pretty beefy. I took the advice of Mike Taylor on upgrading my front diff and transmission. The only issue is as you saw the stupid aluminum brake welded to the pad lol.. already ordered better brakes. We should be good now. Thanks for stopping by. Cheers

hey awesome build. i'm getting ready to install a Taylor 65cc into a 30dnt vtt7. what did you do to sole the brake issue.

Hey buddy! I’m well the brakes pads melted onto the discs so it locked. I took everything apart and sanded down the disc and pads. Then i installed shaft springs in order to keep the brakes not engaged all the time.
