Judging really is a joke. His last squat was the most perfect squat (not to mention world record squat) I have seen all week and he still gets a red light... smh
@@michaelstollairetbarceo3287 You would think, but a job that has more cardio is better. Things like being a waiter or a delivery person. Constant blood flow promotes recovery better.
The calves not necessarily have to touch the hams( aka ass to grass squat) in powerlifting meets but the crease of the hips must go below the plane of the top of the patella which in Taylor's all lifts sure did . Judging could have been better.
For my fellow metric-imperial challenged friends: World Record Squat of 283 KG= 623 LB (That is almost 4x his bodyweight) Bench of 195 KG = 430 LB ( That 2.5x his bodyweight) Deadlift of 312.5 KG = 688 LB (That is 4.25x his bodyweight) Total lift record of 790.5 KG = 1742.75 LBs This dude is a fking monster.
Yeah ! It breaks the image of the dumb weightlifters simply lifting things up, and it shows that work can't be an excuse if you want to achieve a world record..
pound for pound one of the greatest lifters (IPF) all time for his consistency over the past 5 years and yet manages to increase his total by 20 kg since last year at the highest level
Regardless of the job theres no powerlifters that are at this level that are dumbfucks. Ibteligence and being smart is a good perk to have in such a technical and full of details sport so everything you can use to your advantage you need it.
Its not just in IPF, but its happening across all federations. Pool of lifters has increased dramatically in the last years and with it we start to see some incredibly talented guys who are breaking records left and right. I believe this is the golden age of powerlifting.
@@AerinQQ uhhh it's because powerlifting will forever be a divided and underground sport. Some of these world records aren't even acknowledged by all federations. Theres no uniformity some federations dont evrn count the same weightclasses.
@@damiansconberg4715 Are they? Of course we have more substances nowadays (SARMS, peptides , GH etc.), but most of that stuff is much less potent than good old juice that has been there for dozens of years (test, dbol, deca, anadrol, tren etc.). Nothing has really changed in that regard in recent years IMHO.
To those asking about the red light on squats, the only breakdown is when he takes his breath the bar moves quite a bit and I've seen really picky judges call that....just my thoughts and the only explanation I can come up with
Imagine being like.. Gym bro: Hey man whats your max deadlift? You: 312.5... Gym bro: damm bro! Almost getting that 3 plates! You: Im sorry, I meant kg...
Elite lifters make the lifts look easy bc their form rarely breaks down. But if you get greedy and add even 5kg, they may miss that lift which sets them further behind.
Came here about to comment on the middle judge, needless to say everybody else beat me to it. I dont what the fuck hes seeing, they were all more than legit depth
