Damn. This son of a gun really made it. Saw his version of this on TikTok ant thought "I'd like to hear him sing that with Queen." Well here we f'ing are. :D
He's certainly had a fantastic year! Winning over Eurovision, singing for the Queen's jubilee, then getting personally recommended by ACTUAL ROGER TAYLOR HIMSELF!! Good luck to the boy, he seems like a lovely bloke!! 👏👏
RIP to both! One of the things I really loved about these 2 concerts for taylor was that ( while they weren't clearly in honour of Taylor and his love for music) they felt were for everyone else that was lost in the industry from Freddie to David to Chris and all of the others; moreover for the love of music in general.
yes ahahahahah it is so true...he is always happy...i swear to god before reading your comment i said " he is a feliciotto" that in my mother language means a person who is always happy and positive.
I was there in a private box with my dear friend ,tickets cost £72.00 each with a private bar and gift bag I still have apart from the t shirt welded it away like a twat.what a day and what a price considering the average price of a shit ticket these days. When rock fans could go and see their favourite bands and not get the piss taken out of them.
@@craftstuff-policecorruption. It really was buddy. The main tickets which I think about 30 quid had all sold out that’s the only reason we got the box tickets but yeah it was certainly worth it. X
I am so happy for this lovely man. He is a joy to behold. I cannot imagine anyone not enjoying being around him. When I first heard him sing on eurovision I thought oh here we go, another British bag of shizel, I didn't much care for the song to be honest. Then I started seeing this guy everywhere, heard him sing different stuff, talk to people with such humility and grace , so grateful for his own success and so full of joy and love. Where has this man decended from? Surely from heaven. Bless you always Sam Ryder ❤️
What a joy Sam is! He radiates happiness and zest for life! And judging by other performances I've seen of him, the crowd respond incredibly to him! What a find! At 5:20 he hit that glorious note like Freddie did.
Going through it today and looked Sam up just for a smile and I have to say, he does it every time! His energy is contagious and his voice never fails to evoke a smile!
The amount of respect Sam shows the music legends on stage is testament to how decent he is. Instead of basking in the audience. I hope he gets more than he ever wants. Not just one of my favourite singers now, one of my favourite humans.
I sure hope a professional recording and release of the entire tribute concert ( in 4K video) is released for sale. There were so many legendary performances we will never see again on the same stage.
@@cristiesinderson4967 How would you know, I know Taylor would adore him, and Freddie probably would too. you sound like a miserable person, why don't you not watch him if you don't like him, and maybe get a job or a life?
@@cristiesinderson4967 Sam Ryder. He is a new talent discovered recently in Eurovision. I think he did a good performance and embodied Taylor. Just crushes my heart to imagine the feelings it awakes in Dave, the band and his family 💔 as he made similar mimics
when I see Brian play our talk about Freddie,, he wells up and is unable to hold back the emotion he is feeling.. Queen was a band like no other we will ever see again.. the precision the arrangement's the sound.. God Speed Freddie .. In this world we were given a gift.. QUEEN..
First met sam in 2013 when he used to sing in a band called close your eyes, seen him at this moment, sharing stage with the queen’s and dave, make my heart full of happiness! Wish the best for sam! Such beautiful voice, such beautiful human being! Well deserved!!!
I was so lucky to be there. The overwhelming theme of the whole day was simply….love. ❤️ Such an amazing, emotional day that will live with me forever. 🤟🏻
I’m so proud to see this man succeed, when I first saw him almost three years ago I could not stop telling everyone to watch his videos and push to support him because he’s so full of joy and talented. I’m happy to see when someone is so blessed they are rewarded, thanks for helping through tough times Sam
Nobody, really Nobody on this Planet plays this Song in such a perfect 6/8 way like Roger Taylor does!!! It‘ s still amazing after all These years. Of course a Million drummers Play this Song very well, but nobody makes it Sound so beautiful and perfect like Roger. I love Drummers who have the gift to play for the Song and make him Sound great. That‘s something you can‘t learn. It‘s god given!!! God bless Rog, Brian, Dave and all you lovely musicians/artists for this wonderful Tribute Show for the one and only Taylor Hawkins!!! Allways loved and remembered!!!
This was effing awesome I don’t know what else to say and I love the Dave doesn’t mind if you get in the passenger seat and just rock along I mean come on Dave lets everybody shine it’s beautiful I am crying
I honestly think this was hard for Dave, he doesn't look up from his guitar once. Don't forget, Dave would normally be playing behind Taylor on this song 😢 Brilliant job by Sam regardless.
Wow, with a backing group of rock legends Sam Ryder gives it everything and is a superstar. I can’t work out if he was born in the wrong era or is here now to carry it on.
As a couple of people have mentioned George Michael also made this beautiful song his own 30 years ago. When he sang it live at Wembley I can tell you he made all the rockers stand up and listen. It was by far the best performance on the day. That coming from a huge queen /Metallica fan.He was an extraordinary talent and a beautiful troubled human he is also very sadly missed.
George Michael was the only person who has even come close to NAILING this song. It's a difficult song to sing anyway, but George was a natural at it and made it look easy!
@@midnightrose2127 Well being a big fan of George Michael myself & believe he's one of the greatest vocalist ever in music. And, agree with you on his performance of "Somebody To Love by Queen" & his ability of Freddie Mercury's vocals. I mean this in no way of disrespect to George at all, so don't get it twisted? However, there is another great vocalist/musician I'd like to share with you who you may not be aware of. He's also IMO & many others including Brian May & Roger Taylor, really the best & closest vocalist to Freddie Mercury than anyone else even Adam Lambert. He's actually the one who did the majority of the vocals heard in the Freddie Mercury biopic with Rami Malek. Take a look at "Marc Martel" covering Queen songs. He also has a couple of George Michael songs he's done along with other artists too. As a matter of fact there's a video of Marc doing this song "Somebody To Love" for Celine Dion that brought her to tears. Again, I mean NO disrespect to other vocalists who've attempted Freddie, but.... Well you'll see & think you may agree? +Peace & Rock n' Roll 4 Your Soul+
@@216Numbskull Yes, I've seen a lot of Marc's stuff...he did some of the vocals on the Bohemian Rhapsody movie. Brian and Roger really like him, but he's more of a Freddie impersonator, and they didn't want an impersonator fronting them...they wanted something different. Adam doesn't try to be Freddie, which would be insulting to his memory.
@@midnightrose2127 Marc is NOT an impersonator of any kind. He is a professional musician/singer/songwriter who ALWAYS performs as Marc Martel. He has not try to “be” Freddie, not once whereas Lambert has. Want to see the pictures? They are out there on the internet: Adam in a Freddie get up, mustache, crown, cape and all!
Brian May and Dave Grohl are two of my biggest heroes both as people and humans… and to see them share the stage is cool enough let alone the fact that Sam Ryder definitely just sang “somebody to love” better than anybody has since Freddie’s passing!!
I first heard of him when I watched Eurovision but I think he was doing a lot of songs during the covid lockdowns. I love his voice and attitude and energy.
Fuck this guy has some balls as a relative new guy ..to come out at a gig this huge and absolutely nail it..both Taylor and Freddie would have loved it .. reckon we're going to be seeing much more of Sam for years to come
Great performance! Brian and Roger must have had some kimd of a dejavu when they paid tribute to Freddie 30 years before in a same way. For Dave and the band perhaps a great support to have them in their grief and this concert to honour Taylor. Apart from the fact that they are huge Queenfans.
@@bobbowie9350 I was also really broken up by the deaths of Bowie, Chris, Chester and Scott in such a fast succession. When poor Taylor succumbed to drugs it was almost too much to see happen. The tragedies of the 90's wound back around. Really sorry for the Hawkins family, Dave, Pat, Krist and all of their musical contemporaries. This was very personal for many people.
When I was growing up in the 70’s, everyone said The Rolling Stones were the greatest rock and roll band in the world. It was probably Keith and Mick who said it. Anyway, I say Foo Fighters are the greatest cover band god ever created!
