I love the word play that you can discover even after your 20th listen. Small things like, “I can make all the tables turn”. There are three levels to that one. The one in the story itself, like she’s turning the tables on her boyfriend. The jab at the media portrayal of her- she’s taking the things they say about her, turning it into art and throwing it back in their face. Finally, she’s saying she can make the “tables turn” with her music (like record player turn tables). It’s so clever and I love her for it.

I love her videos. She totally writes and directs her videos these days and you can tell. She's really all about telling a story and she likely sees the videos as mini movies.

I will drop some info on you, as why you should not watch this version, and why, if you want to support Taylor, should not react to this song and others songs in the same situation. This is a crazy situation, and if you don't know, you should read about it more. back in 2018, she left the label Big Machine Records. in 2019, Big Machine Record sold the rights to all Taylors songs to Scooter Braun. He use to work with Kanye West. and you know how Taylor and Kanye have a small feud. Taylor tries to buy the rights but Scooter says no. But what Taylor did unknowingly in 2018, when she signed with Republic Records, in the contract was a stipulation, that she would own the Master Rights of the songs she writes going forward. good move on her part. but when 2019 rolls around and she could not get the rights to her older songs, she decided to release all her older songs with the (Taylors Version label) as she will now own the right to her new old songs. slightly different, but these will be hers. So true Swifties do not listen to any of taylors songs that where produced under Big Machine Records, and only listen to the Taylors Version. She is still working on getting every song re-recorded, but she has alot of them completed already. This is a big reason why her more famous older songs repopulated the top 100 charts years later, because as she brought attention to the older album, it sparked views again. just a little bit of info, up to you to follow or ignore.
