Joe gave her the note! This was him setting a meetup place for them. She's invisible cuz since she received the note, she's allowing her to be her true self, cuz "Joe must like her for her", do you know what I mean? And no one could see her as herself, but only as the "media Taylor". But even though she's free and happy, she's still insecure (it's shown through her dance and sometimes her face). She's happy and then sad at the elevator cuz she thinks the woman could see her (as her true self) but she couldn't, cuz she's still not with the one who made her not to be afraid to be herself in front of everyone (and we can say that cuz she wrote very bold/edgy lyrics for this album. Lyrics of her admitting that she was wrong, that she was/is bad sometimes, lyrics talking about sexy stuff, about alcohol/drinking...) and we know that Joe was one of the reasons (or the main reason) that made it possible. In the end, she's afraid that Joe's not gonna show up at the meetup point, but then everybody starts to see her again, cuz at that moment she met with him (you can see through her smile at the end) and he's the one that encouraged her to be her true self, even in the public eye, and feel confident about it. Obviously, the "invisible" aspect also represents this time, in which she's "missing" and nobody can see her. But we can see that, everytime she shows up, she's simple, with loose clothes, sometimes with no makeup, and she's performing in a bold/confident way.

Taylor wearing a DEEP BLUE dress and entering to a bar that include the word GOLDEN it's a reference to Dancing With Our Hands Tied and the line "deep blue but you painted me golden". Also, it's the bar that it's referenced in almost every song from reputation (So It Goes... and Gorgeous). When Taylor is dancing in the subway, behind her is written "Track 5". Also, when she's dancing on the street, the graffitis said: "Echoes of your footsteps" and "reputation" (honourable mention, that she dances in front of the wall that say reputation as a way to punish it to make it feel like how she is in the whole video). I really miss snake references on this MV, but the ring on her hand when she discovered that she can't watch herself on the mirror, it was totally worth it. Is the torn blue dress a reference to her destroyed dress in Out of the Woods from 1989? The hair reminds me of her Red Era. The dancing in the rain is so reminiscent of her Fearless/Speak Now days. The invisibility is straight out of her original album's song Invisible. This video is a metaphor for her life AND THE OLD TAYLOR IS NOT DEAD! Edit: Additional thoughts: The flapper dress reminds me of her Mean video. In Sad Beautiful Tragic from Red, she sings about a handwritten NOTE deep in a pocket. The emphasis of both the mirror and the facial expressions makes me think of Tied Together With a Smile where she sings "The only face that doesn't see you'we pretty is the face staring back at you" . The "let's follow Taylor around as she thinks about her love while holding a note" is straight out of the Ours video.

I loved the video. It wasn't what I was expecting but it still had that Romantic Fairy Tale Magical vibe to it. And you can see "Delicate" "Echoes of Your Footsteps" and "Reputation" in the graffiti on the walls in the alley and JOE'S Deli. Also at the end when she's looking around and I assume spots Joe and everyone turns to look at her, the very last guy that's the most blurry does look a lot like Joe. And the video doesn't feel finished. Like the next song/video will be a continuation of this story. It feels like there's going to be a part two, so maybe for Dress or So It Goes...She also has a ring on 'that' finger along with her other rings. ^_^

So to me, it was like she was caught in her over publicized life, center of attention, but she felt lonely and like she wasn’t close to anyone. Then she gets this note... like meet me at the “dive bar”(?) and then she’s looking forward to it again and gets lost in her thoughts. This feeling... makes her feel invisible and literally dances like no one is watching! No one can rain on her parade... she’s too busy dancing 🙌🏽♥️ then she gets to said bar where she meets with him aka Joe and her eyes literally like light up! You see sparks fly! I loved it so much! 😍😭🙌🏽

Loved you reacting to Taylor! I really liked how much fun she had with the interpretive dance. Her videos always have a story and I interpreted that the magic note (given by Joe?) in the video was granting her wishes. When she's overwhelmed and stifled by fame she wishes to be invisible so she can be free, but there's loneliness in the freedom. I think she smiles at the end because she wished on the magic paper not just to be seen again, but to be seen for who she really is (and I think she sees Joe because he's the one who really knows her)

What I took from this video was: in the beginning Taylor is in the spotlight, she is surrounded by media and fans, everyone wants to get close to her (fan jumps on her back), she is surrounded/caged by security guards who follow her every step, she is never alone BUT no one can see the real Taylor. She is invisible to them, all they know is the persona that has been created by her fame and image and the media. She is alone. Then at the end she walks into the bar to meet the sender of the note (Joe) and here we see reconciliation, an acceptance, a look of being at peace with herself. She meets someone who does see her and knows her, the real Taylor. She is seen and she is no longer alone and she is happy.

Hey I just can't stop thinking about this theory: I think the crumpled notes might says "Drive bar on the East Side, where you at?" or "come here, you can meet me in the back" (from the lyrics) because at the near end we see that Taylor entered to some kind of a bar. After now watching delicate on repeat. Theory: boy hands her the golden secret to being invisible. When she reads it this is when it turns her invisible for the first time and she can finally be herself, dancing in the rain! My theory is that she was tired of being in the limelight . The note was her wish to be invisible . The invisible reference is because she's been quiet all of 2017. Cause as we saw in call it what you want she's "doing better than I ever was". She is now saying that being invisible was great but she's ready to come back into the limelight .

The man that gave her the note (probably Joe) was wearing an all black outfit. It reminds me of "So It Goes" when Taylor sings "Come here just in black now". I think the part where she takes a step back, and so does everyone else represents that every move she made was followed by someone. She has these adoring fans and yet she feels lonely. She then realizes that she is invisible (avoiding the paparazzi and staying out of the public eye), and she can be herself. She can be silly and carefree and dance like no one is watching. The note she got leads her to the bar where Joe is waiting. When she walks in there, she is seen by everyone because that is where she belongs. I just wish there was a cameo of Joe at the end...sigh!

I’m pretty sure the message is more of how she just wants to be seen. When she acts like herself, there is still this constant assumption about her based on what people say; gossip, her reputation, etc. in the elevator, she’s happy that the lady is seeing her during the state that she’s being herself. The lady can’t see her, and Taylor’s face is sad when the shot cuts to her. In the bar, I noticed that everyone was staring, likely judging her. But when she sees him, it doesn’t matter; he sees her as she truly is.

The instant I saw the note on my first watch I knew it was Joe lol she smiles at the end because she came to the bar in from the soaking rain and met him there (which is presumably what the note said, to meet him there)
