American shows don’t compare to Graham’s. He’s a great host and the multiple guest thing is great. Flows well with questions for all. Let’s them drink and just interact with one another.

I know. I felt so bad when Graham said Anya Taylor Joy's fear was "legitimate" (implying Anna Maxwell Martin's fruit bowl phobia is not legitimate). Like yes, the fruit bowl isn't a rational fear (that's the whole deal with phobias, they are irrational), but that doesn't mean it's not a very real, deeply experienced fear. And it's dismissive and demeaning to imply someone's phobia isn't legitimate. Also, I can't believe they put it on the set when she specifically asked them not to. Couldn't they have put something else there lol. Or maybe it was all a bit, even the phobia...idk anymore.

As someone who has this very odd phobia, for many reasons. Too many to specify which is why she responded with a wave and ‘it’s the whole thing’ remark was one hundred percent real. Thank you for seeing that, as odd as it was, it was very real and your comment of feeling sympathetic. Very kind. ☮️

@@jbrubin8274is it only when the fruit is in the bowl? It sounded like the person “doesn’t eat fruit at all” and that seems odd. But if it’s just how it’s displayed then that seems like a very easily solved issue for this program?

@@fightclub6291 You’re right, that isn’t the issue, though there are some. But I at least love fruit and you’re one hundred percent correct. For most a simple switch up with the presentation is the easiest fix. Problem solved for many, certainly me. 🙌💯

​@@jbrubin8274 Yeah I thought it was inappropriate and invasive to put her on the spot and ask her live, publicly on the show to explain her real phobia (assuming she didn't specifically offer to talk about it before the show), which is very personal. It would be okay if she had offered to talk about it before the show, but based on her reaction I have a feeling she didn't consent to that. Or maybe she did consent, but obviously wasn't expected to be confronted with her phobia on live television, hence her body language.

I, an American, don't watch American talk shows. Now that I've watched some clips from this, I wish I could watch it somewhere. Aside from YT.

One American guest said during the show "This is the most fun I've ever had on a talk show." It's very believable. British stars are relaxed and say outrageous things and the Americans get to be caught up in the flow. It's nothing like the semi-planned out 7 minute bits on American talk shows.
