I think as parents, it’s our responsibility to protect our kids from evil. You and Kyler clearly are aware that evil exists which is great! You love your children and want to protect them. Taylor Swift, as an example, is probably the largest idol in our world and I can understand the ambiance of it all; she’s a beautiful singer, captivating millions of girls (all ages) with her music for so many years now. I think it’s important to remember that sometimes what is “evil” is not so hidden like we assume. It’s right in front of our faces. Does Taylor push a specific agenda? Does she promote a specific ideology? Does she endorse people or things that you would want your children following? So as parents, you have the choice to agree or not agree with certain values and it’s our duty to be strong and firm in our faith, always resorting back to what we believe and to constant remind our children what to believe. It’s very tempting to ignore, but remember that’s exactly what the devil would want. I think as parents we face a huge spiritual warfare with what influences our children today. Regardless, I look up to you and Kyler. You’ve created a beautiful family and share messages I align with, and I applaud that as you guys do so with a huge following.

The “witch craft” looking dance during Willow is because she has said that she wants the vibe of Willow to be fairytale like, and you really see that in the music video. The snakes are because before Reputation came out, Kim Kardashion fans started calling Taylor a snake and commenting snakes on all of Taylor’s social media, even though Kim was the one in the wrong and Taylor had done nothing wrong. Because of this, Taylor used the snakes as a symbol for her Reputation album because the album exposed who the real “snakes” are

I love that y’all are talking about this and completely understand your concerns esp when it comes to your kids. I too like T and find myself confused. I saw her Eras tour at movies and there were a couple of songs that seemed dark and like witchcraft as they were dancing with the cape on. So I just pray for Taylor as she is around the Hollywood scene so much so you never know but she does seem like she strives to set a good example. It must be hard to live with a microscope on her.

I would not want my daughter to idolize celebrities. That includes Taylor Swift. Her lyrics are not ok with me. I used to like her music but then I heard my 4 year old daughter singing the lyrics and I felt very uncomfortable. I don’t want my daughters to have similar dating relationships as her. She’s 34 and acts like she’s 17 still. It’s kind of weird. Pray for Taylor. Have compassion for her and be careful even with her lyrics. Get in your bibles and read every day. The Holy Spirit was guiding you with conviction to leave that dinner. That’s why it didn’t feel right. Everyone doesn’t have the light of Jesus. We were all originally created in God’s image until Adam and Eve sinned. We are called to be set apart. Yes we interact with people and not judge unbelievers but that doesn’t mean we stay at a dinner where things are going against Gods word.

Loved this episode!! Taylor is also a Christian, she talks about it in her Miss Americana documentary. The willow dance, Taylor said it’s supposed to resemble like a fairytale-esque sort of thing. The snakes for reputation are because in 2016, Kim Kardashian basically got everyone to call her a snake, the media and in her instagram comments. It got so bad that she disappeared for a year. Off of social media and wasn’t seen in public once. That was until Rep came out in 2017. I mean Halloween is also seen as a satanic celebration from a religious point of view, but does that stop ur kids from dressing up and going trick or treating? No, It can just be innocent.

I feel like Madison is a very aware mother! She supports her children , but is also aware. She knows what she’s doing. You can’t knock down your children’s dreams. As a parent, you support them. But also, as a parent, you’re more aware of what’s going on in the world so you have to be aware and always be able to guide them in the right direction.

Heyy guys it’s soo important to remember! Just because someone outwardly says they’re Christian and they do good deeds doesn’t make them a true Christian (Follower of Christ) . There are a lot of wolves in sheep clothing out there (Matthew 7:15-20 I recommend you read!!) so you have to ultimately ask GOD for the spirit of discernment to open your eyes and hearts to discern what is from God! Someone from God can’t be doing witchcraft and be in Christ at the same time . A true Christian is actively following Jesus and picking up their cross each day and denying their flesh because that’s how you live the freedom God has planned for us. To know if someone is a good example for yourselves/family and friends as the Bible says check their fruits on how do they act or behave, are the lyrics and meaning behind their sings edifying myself and the Holy Spirit within me! I totally agree with Madison on the whole cute obsession thing. Halston is to young to understand the deep stuff. She just sees a young talented woman who is successful and pursing her dreams of singing that Halston shares with her. I think it’s sweet she has a role model to look up too and there are way worst idols she could look up to. Also, many kids go through phases so in like a year she might not even care about Taylor as much anyways. Plus the whole Taylor Swift is “evil” thing is ridiculous. People are literally reaching at the most because they are jealous she’s so famous and popular. The snakes thing during reputation is because of all the “snakes” and toxic people she dealt with in that era. The willow stuff is suppose to be fairytale like. And then the big thing about people hating on her because she sings about her relationships/exes is so stupid as well. EVERY SINGLE ARTIST sings about relationships and their past experiences. You cannot name an artist that hasn’t sung about a past relationship before. Plus there are artists that sing about way worst things and people get mad because Taylor sings about an experience she had that many people also can relate to in their own life?! Give me a break. Just say you are jealous and go. We also only know that songs are about certain people because all her relationships have just been public because she’s a public figure and she’s dated public figures too. But also again because she’s a woman that is talented and successful. But if Jimmy, Tom, Bob or William sang about an ex, no one would blink an eye.

First off you say we shouldn’t be idolizing somebody. But you contradict that multiple times. definitely should not be. The Ten Commandments say though shall not have no other Gods before me. To idolize is to break this commandment. Taylor Swift is no better than you or I. She is nothing special. The only one who should be worshipped is Jesus. Celebrities are out of control and I do not think God is happy with any of them. In her one video she was dancing and do satanic ritual dancing. You said you’re trying to stay in the light and not judge. That who cares what she does in her dancing. God tells us in Mark 4:24-28 to watch what you listen too. We are supposed to use discernment. You should care if you’re letting your daughter listen to her and have an obsession with her. How do you feel about letting your daughter listen to songs that are smear campaigns against all her exes? Is that Jesus like? Don’t think Jesus approves. To be follower of Christ is follow his word and steer away from all or anything evil. Wake up. We do not ignore evil, we seek to expose it. Ephesians 5:11

OMG Look I am 60 years old I have follwed Taylor from the beginning. Taylor is one of the most genuine person you would ever want to know. Every concert She donates to Food Banks to the city. She visits sick chilren.and much more. At football games she tips $100.00 to each staff member. She is one of the nicest people to know I have met her.

I was witnessing Jesus to her and she was receiving it. She had some new age 'Karma' type beliefs. I was shown she could make it to heaven , but she needs prayer and just someone real like your family showing her His love and truth. After the video posted "MOVING IN: HOUSE TOUR' on the beach in Cali , which still had good views , after that is when viewers dropped. I think it was because the One Move in Video , after watching , the Title alone is what was a problem , because You saw by watching that , It wasn't Really Or truly or actually You Guys moving into the home. It was actually just a tour of a pricey house you wanted but hadn't bought. I think that issue was never addressed, like apologizing b/c that one video alone then seemed like clickbait or a lie ? All I know is a majority of viewers stopped tuning after that video. I think an apology might do some real good and show vulnerability that viewers would appreciate . You are supported and so loved . I've seen some videos showing Swift's kindness to others. I'm a creative person as well - and even heard my local priest on Ash Wednesday ask the elementary school kids who she was. If you are Christian, you follow the teachings of Christ. It's known for autistics like me to sometimes become fixated on people, but I matured out of it.

I think you need to look at a lot of her pictures and what her friends around her are doing she’s promoting that by allowing those people to act and demonstrate evil manners. I think kids need to enjoy the music and stay away from idolizing people like her. I think it can be dangerous and it can also lead to comparing themselves to somebody they can’t live up to nor should they. If you didn’t pay attention to it, you wouldn’t be fixated. Those people that have the light in their lives see the darkness and others and their actions you become hyper aware, but not fixated. I was extremely disappointed in the game and how many times they pointed out Kelsey and Tay Tay. I find it nauseating. What about all the other wonderful people that have been there for years and years, supporting and cheering on those teams and they get ignored. She’s become an idol to too many. I support God I don’t support people that act like they are one.

Madison, there are quite a few Bible verses dealing with this topic. 2 Corinthians6:14. Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. If you cared so much about followers, likes and comments then you’d post RU-vid videos several times a week. But you focus on your family and your kids. You create content when you can but it doesn’t consume or control your life. I’m a member of your same faith.
