HAIM is actually three sisters: Danielle, Alana and ESTE! That’s where the name Este came from and the mention of her sisters backing up Taylor’s alibi 💅🏻✨
@adabadoskova2915

husband unalives Este, takes home his mistress, Taylor unalives the husband with the help of Este's sister and blames it on the mistress, but because she has a boating license and can clean houses, she will get rid of the body well, and nobody can really blame it on either of them, cause there is no body, therefore no proof. police think mistress did it, mistress thinks Taylor did it, but no body, no crime. Este is a real name, it's the name of one of the HAIM sisters, they've been friends with Taylor for a along time now, like 10 years probably.

What you should also be aware of is that two of Swift's albums -- folklore and evermore -- were written during the pandemic and were basically an exercise in imagination. In interviews, Swift has explicitly said that those two albums are not based on her personal experiences , so no, she did not actually commit any crimes or do any boating activities

I haven't laughed this hard in awhile... but you trying to figure this out HAD ME DYIN. Yes, SIr. Tay did it. It was a 'good thing' she knew how to drive a boat, clean up a crime scene, and a 'GOOD THING' that his mistress took out the policy b/c it made her LOOK like she had motive, which means Tay doesn't get blamed.... even tho the mistress knew it was Tay (but she couldn't prove it). And a 'good thing' the sister (who was on Tays side b/c i'm sure she knew he killed Estie) was willing to give Tay an alibi. And as Tay also added she wasn't letting up until the day he died & paid for cheating on then murdering Estie.

I love how she says “we meet up every Tuesday night for dinner & a glass of wine” at the beginning and then says “she wasn’t there at Olive Garden” when the story really starts to take a turn. I also just find it funny to think of Olive Garden being the choice for Taylor swift & Este Haim’s Tuesday wine nights 🍷😂

Oh, she did it. And that foggy lake combined with our narrator Taylor’s boating license came in handy to deliver vigilante justice to Este’s cheating, murderous hubbie. It’s ok - she had to do it since the cops weren’t gonna (no body, no crime). But glad you appreciated the detail re the new set of tires on his truck. I always pictured him taking poor Este’s body to some local bog that might be good for disposing of bodies but also has really unique soil to get embedded in every tread (or pick up tire tread marks). Great country storytelling song. Love the fact that Taylor wrote her bestie Este Haim into it and it’s Este’s sister Danielle saying “she was with me dude”.

Este is Este Haim one of Taylor’s close friends who is featured on this song. Taylor uses names of friends and friends children. She uses the names of Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds daughters in the trilogy on folklore (the teenage love triangle. Songs Betty, Cardigan, and August), James, Betty and Inez. The songs are typically fictional or not real events in that friend’s life.
@mmlory78
@mmlory78 3 месяца назад
Taylor’s friend thinks her husband is cheating and says to Taylor she’s going to confront him. Her friend goes missing and he reports his wife missing, he has new tires (I imagined his wife slashed them when confronting him or he changed them out after dumping her body so there wasn’t evidence) and he moves his mistress in. Taylor knows he is responsible for killing Este so he can live with his mistress and she’s happy to have the skills to cover up his murder (boating licence and being able to clean up a house to cover evidence) because she’s not going to give up until he pays for his crime and she knows she won’t be found out cause she has an alibi by Estes sister. The mistress takes out an insurance policy on him so when he goes missing the police thinks she killed him but she knows it was really taylor. Taylor is a fan of crime dramas and this is her version of one but in song form. It’s a masterpiece!

Just great story telling from Taylor about Esti going missing presumed dead, and in the twist the character she’s singing about (not herself) gets the husband and the police thinks the mistress did it as she took out an insurance policy, no bodies were found so no crime. Obviously the sister was in on it as she is the characters alibi. Thanks for reacting to this great song

That's why she said Este's sister is GONNA swear she was with Taylor. Taylor explained she has the skills to take him out and she has her alibi. Boom! Also why would the Mistress think Taylor killed him if the mistress did it herself? You were so close man!

So lots have folks have told you the story, so I’m gonna tell you about the style of song: a murder ballad. This takes a lot of inspiration, of course, from The (Dixie) Chicks’ “Goodbye, Earl,” but around the same time, a couple of other feminist murder ballads came out, including Wanda Jackson’s “The Box it Came In,” “Caleb Meyer” by Gillian Welch, and "Pretty Little One” by Steve Martin (yes, that one) and the Steep Canyon Rangers with Edie Brickell. But historically, murder ballads are about men killing women. They follow a traditional ballad format, meaning that they’re a narrative song about an event, and they generally tell the story of events leading up to a murder - normally a dude singing about killing a woman, often “the love of his life,” for some perceived, typically false, crime. (There’s a LOT of “stalking is love” behavior in them, too.) But you can also get the songs being sung from the victim’s perspective… or the victim’s ghost as she comes for revenge. Rarely, you can get a third person omniscient narration of events. Murder ballads are split into three other broad categories: Old World, Americana, and American Old West… but we have almost no examples of the latter because they were largely passed down either via broadsides no one kept or told orally in a very small geographic area. Old World ballads come from Germanic roots and are found across England, Scotland, and Scandinavia - these songs almost always have a mystical or supernatural element. Americana songs, on the other hand, often use the same musical score and even themes of Old World ballads, but the supernatural elements are removed. Instead of a ghost seeking revenge, it’s someone’s family. And Americana itself is a broad category. It includes all the folk genres, including all the country genres, but we also have gangsta rap (Eminem in particular) and soul/r&b (Macy Gray) as well as narcocorridos. Some folks also argue that teenage “cry and die” love songs of the 50s and 60s are offshoots of the same theme. Now, in the last 60-odd years, women have started to take the murder ballad back, and their narratives tend to be ones of revenge - typically revenge for domestic abuse. In the last 20-30, it’s slipped out of country music and bled across all genres. For classic murder ballads, try the Old World English ballad The Godport Tragedy, or the Americana version of the same song, Pretty Polly. For other classic Americana songs, try Lloyd Price’s “Stagger Lee,” Wayon Jenninsgs, "Cedartown, Georgie" or Lyle Lovett, “L.A. County.” Sting wrote “I Hung My Head,” which was recorded by Johnny Cash. For a more contemporary take on murder ballads, try "Where the Wild Roses Grow" by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds or a number of songs by Eminem, including “‘97 Bonnie and Clyde” and “Kim. “Dance with the Devil” by Immortal Technique is an example of a third person telling the story, and of course, “Thunder Rolls” by Garth Brooks (especially the live performance with the fourth verse). Enjoy!!

Este is short for Esther. I know other folks have mentioned Este is the name of one of the HAIM sisters, but didn’t see anyone explain what it’s short for. When I first heard the song, I didn’t have the lyrics up and thought she said “Espi” (a nickname for Esperanza, the Spanish word/name for ‘hope’) and I was gobsmacked to hear a Hispanic name come out of her mouth (sorry-not-sorry, Taylor)! 😂 Goes to show I’m more ranchero country than Nashville country, I guess!

TS did it. She had a boat license no one knew about. The mistress took out a policy on him and he disappeared, so she's a suspect, but she didn't do it. TS has an alibi, cleaned the scene, and got rid of the body. This is just a nicer version of 'Earl', by the Dixie Chicks. In that song, 'Earl' beat his wife(her friend), so they fed him rat poison and buried him in the swamp. No one cared because no one liked Earl. Everyone lived happily ever after ;-)

She unalived the cheating husband bc he killed her friend….and as luck would have it, the mistress had taken out a life insurance policy on the “missing” person. Without a body and no evidence…there is no way to prove it. All circumstantial and the mistress is the most obvious.
@dianafaustina
@dianafaustina 3 месяца назад
Este is her actual name, she's one of the Haim sisters. The song is fictional. Basically Este suspects that her husband is cheating on her because he smell like his mistress' perfume (smells like infidelity), has her lipstick on his mouth (that ain't my merlot on his mouth) and was buying jewelry for his mistress from their bank account. Este says she thinks he did it (cheat), but can't prove it. She confronts him, he kills her and then changes his tires (I assume they had mud/blood on them). When Este doesn't show up on their weekly dinner and can't find her anywhere, the narator (let's say Taylor) notices the new tires and thinks the husband killed her friend, but can't prove it. She kills the husband as revenge and Este's sister is her alibi and she frames the mistress because she just happened to take a life insurance policy. Police thinks the mistress did it, mistress thinks Taylor did it, but no one can prove anything. Also, Taylor does actually have a boating license 😂

Esté confronted her cheating husband, and he killed her, got new tires and moved his mistress in. Taylor thinks he did it, but can’t prove it. Taylor killed him (but had an alibi with Esté’s sister) and took him out in her boat and dumped his body, and then cleaned up the murder scene. The mistress had taken a life insurance policy out on her lover before he died, so the police think that she (the mistress) did it, but can’t prove it and the mistress thinks that Taylor killed him (but also can’t prove it) Taylor alters the last line to be “No body, no crime, but I wasn’t giving up until the day HE died.”

Taylor did it. The husband killed Este. The new tires covered evidence and the mistress moving in proved the affair and gave reason for murder after the wife confronted him. When police couldn’t prove it, Taylor took it into her own hands. She killed him, dumped the body (boat reference) and cleaned up the murder scene. Estes’ sister is covering her/giving her an alibi. She framed the mistress to tie up loose ends (as the mistress was the cause of the murder most likely) with the life insurance policy. Cops think mistress did it but can’t prove it. Mistress knows Taylor did it, but can’t prove it. No body no crime!

Este (Esther) realized her husband is cheating. She confronts him, and he kills her. He moves in his mistress. Taylor kills the murderous, cheating husband, and disposes of his body in a body of water. Este's sister agrees to be Taylors alibi for the husband's murder. Both Este and the husbands bodies were disposed of, so neither disappearance/death is marked as a crime by the police.

She got the husband.... dumped in the water and cleaned up the scene! If you listen to her vocals, at the beginning she’s listening to her friend, the second set she’s plotting against the husband and has an evil lilt and the last part you can hear her smirking, gloating and on the life insurance policy... she is almost laughing and you can actually hear that! She is so good. I have a video in my head for Taylor and the HAIM sisters for this but I wrote it out and copyrighted it for Taylor and them after I sent the idea... so I’m not telling😂!! #TaylorSwift #HAIM (oh Este is really a HAIM sisters name along with Alona and Danielle!)

Estes is short for Esther, who really is one of TSs friends.

"They think she did it" meaning the cops think the mistres did it, because of her big life insurance policy she collects. "She thinks I did it" because the narrator done did it "but she just can't prove it" because the narrator knew how to clean up at the scene and then, we can presume, dump the body in some large body of water from a boat and because Estee's sister lied to give her an alibi. It's how all the pronouns change in every chorus - it's confusing at first. I love how you can hear Taylor smile when she sings, "She thinks I did it"! Folklore and Evermore have some completely fictional tracks and this is one of them. Edited typos
