Some might say it's simple and it occurs to them only when they heard the line lol. but It's really hard to come up with this line and that totally sums up all the themes and vibes with a cleaver word use. Now, a big round of applause to her please.
This song will truly never go out of style. She is literally a mastermind. The story, the allure, the chords, the uncertainty, the simplicity and aesthetic. It's brilliant.
Mine is the story of my life . My parents fought during my childhood and finally divorced when I was a teenager. For me , finding the love of my life was impossible , I did not believe in love until I met my husband. I was ready to give up every time we were fighting and he fought for me , was there for me and now we are happily married and raising two beautiful children , this song makes me cry everytime .
@@MIMIMIMI-df8bk Some people prefer music videos then lyric videos, and if you prefer the old version it doesn't make you a fake swiftie, my favourite song is the old version of Better Than Revenge-
@@mahreenlast4733 for some of us, our fathers have been reckless or hurtful in our lives, and it resulted in us being careful and closed up to emotions.
@@mahreenlast4733 of course, in this context Taylor has been hurt by her father's 'careless' actions. He's a careless man making her his 'careful' daughter. Gaurding her heart. Which is a sentiment close to a lot of people.
Tell me I'm not alone but. This Era was just Magical. The songs, stories, tours, etc. Honestly my favourite era and also she was absolutely gorgeous here!!
When this song came out, I was 27 and married. This song was so touching and Taylor really amazed me how she could portray the life and hardships of marriage while being so young herself.
Anyone here in 2024? 🥺💜 This video is so nostalgic and brings back so many amazing memories. OG Speak Now era will forever be my favorite and have such a special place in my heart.
So basically this song is about how she could see there whole life together from the moment they met that’s why it goes back to the moment they met at the end
We wondering the thing is the real music video was unlisted, so is the best day mv. It was reposted for no reasons. At least, it's back with the 300m views.
I was abused as a child, this song was one of many that I used as therapy. The lyric "you made a rebel of a careless man's careful daughter" hit so close to home, because my dad never showed me love. I would listen to this song and imagine what it would be like to run away from my toxic household and into the arms of my prince charming
Not gonna lie. This song isn’t made for crying but when I listened to it after my parents got into big fights, ddamn... the lyrics hit me. I saw every relationship crumbling all around me and thought to myself "maybe love isn’t meant to last, I’ll always be better off alone". I always thought Mine was a beautiful and lovely song but wow, the lyrics... "Wondering why we bother with love, if it never lasts" is just mind-blowing and so relatable. Listening to Mine and Begin Again right after, it is the perfect combo to start anew and believe in love again😭
I remember listening to this at 14 wondering if I'll ever have someone who will be the best thing that ever been mine. Im now 26 with two kids, listening to this nostalgic and tearing, because i have the best thing that ever been mine. Alhamdullilah
One fact people forget all the time is that she wrote the whole Speak Now album by herself. She is the sole songwriter for this. So one could say it's her most "personal" release. Which is why I absolutely dig the album. The country pop tune and acoustic melody it has is just the bonus.
Oh, oh, oh Oh, oh, oh You were in college, working part-time, waiting tables Left a small town, never looked back I was a flight risk, with a fear of fallin' Wondering why we bother with love, if it never lasts I say, "Can you believe it?" As we're lyin' on the couch The moment, I can see it Yes, yes, I can see it now Do you remember, we were sittin', there by the water? You put your arm around me for the first time You made a rebel of a careless man's careful daughter You are the best thing, that's ever been mine Flash forward, and we're takin' on the world together And there's a drawer of my things at your place You learn my secrets and you figure out why I'm guarded You say we'll never make my parents' mistakes And we got bills to pay We got nothin' figured out When it was hard to take Yes, yes This is what I thought about Do you remember, we were sittin' there, by the water? You put your arm around me, for the first time You made a rebel of a careless man's careful daughter You are the best thing, that's ever been mine Do you remember all the city lights on the water? You saw me start to believe, for the first time You made a rebel of a careless man's careful daughter You are the best thing, that's ever been mine Oh, oh, oh, oh And I remember that fight, two-thirty a.m. 'Cause everything was slipping right out of our hands I ran out, crying, and you followed me out into the street Braced myself for the goodbye, 'Cause that's all I've ever known Then, you took me by surprise You said, "I'll never leave you alone" You said, "I remember how we felt, sitting by the water. And every time I look at you, it's like the first time. I fell in love with a careless man's careful daughter. She is the best thing that's ever been mine." You made a rebel of a careless man's careful daughter You are the best thing, that's ever been mine Do you believe it? We're gonna make it now And I can see it
I can only remember how fascinated i was when this song was released back in the days, I was merely a 7-year-old girl but it's been 13 years ago already, still it gives me a great memory of being a child who knew what this song was meant for. She was and is definitely an authentic artist. Missin' my childhood days.
The fact that Taylor has been romantic since the start and never gave up on romance & love no matter how many disappointments she have faced or how many time she was mistreated & misrepresented in the media but she still continued to have an open heart and try to find love just inspires me so much, I’m so happy for her ❤️
@@hjaw8242no one's perfect but I agree with you. She went from singing "what's the point of love if it never lasts?" in this song that I adore to "let's pretend it's love" in some other one. People change, I guess.
so is nobody gonna talk about how taylor always had the FINEST men in her music videos because im obsessed with this man and this video is like 10 years old help
Hehe he is darling, and the look on his face when he was showing her his stuff is just precious! Forget the muscle man I'll take a sensitive guy every time and just carry a 45 LOL
i love that she was 21 and so pure, she wanted a family with the love of her life, now at 33, she's got everything and seems so content being on her own, she's strong and successful and more beautiful than ever
Taylor wrote the most genius lyric of all time - "You made a rebel of a careless man's careful daughter." thanks for 1K likes, ive never had a comment go like this. stream Taylor's owned albums ily
Man I can't believe I'm actually watching this after so many years with tears in my eyes. The line "I was a flight risk with a fear of falling, wonderin why we bothered with love if it never lasts." Is too relatable.
I remember listening and watching this video for the first time when I was 12. It resonated with me so much, I cried and held to the hope that one day I would have my own “mine”. I do have it now. ❤
Here sister !!! Hahaha .. Loved her since the first time I heard her song Teardrops In the Guitar few years back ... never stopped loving her personality and songs .... She is pretty too 😄😄

but, if you have or wish one, it's natural you prefer the health of your children in non proportionality of your own successful track. I think he tried to say : "normally, people whom have children is more affected by this than having money, tbh." There are psychological theories explaining heavily about that, but he tried to say this
what a journey! my partner and i celebrated 10 years together this past july. i am pregnant with our second boy, our first will be 4 soon. this video just triggered something in me, i remember singing it at the beginning of our relationship but being totally clueless about where i'd be a decade later. so many 2:30am fights, so many redeeming moments. what a rollercoaster. can't believe i just full face sobbed by the end of this video. maybe it's the hormones, maybe it's the nostalgia, maybe it's just 2020. grateful and emotional.
fr i havent listened to taylor swift for a very long time however ive heard small clips of her songs in edits, but after I was looking at my mom's old cd collections and played them using the car's radio and it was full of old taylor swift songs that we used to listen to 7-8 years ago already!
