My favorite thing about this 'rock version' of the song is that it's not just that it's a rock mix with more drums and electric guitar, it's the fact that the entire performance and showmanship of it has entirely been redone, from her badass leather outfit, her hair flips, the way she poses with the guitar, and even that sick ass red lighting at the intro portion. Not only that but the way Taylor changed her singing to match it, adding those little screams and vocal growls. The 'yeah yeahs' right before the last chorus is perfection to me

I miss the rock from the 90s and early 2000s. I'm lucky that my childhood consisted of that kind of music with pop in the background like Britney and Nsync creeping in. I was more into Limp Bizkit, Korn, Deftones, Blink 182, No Doubt and Sublime. I grew up in that ska, pop, rap-rock, numetal era and so did Taylor. That's why if you listen closely you can hear a tinge of that rock music in her songs. Her parents were into Led Zeppelin, Def Leppard, James Taylor, Carol King while she was growing up to Foo Fighters, Dashboard Confessional and Paramore. I can tell she's got rock within her and we get to hear that in her concerts and tours ❤.

I love how this version is so different from the incredibly pop and upbeat original, which she made the original very “poppy” bc her ex (Jake Gyllenhaal) hated any music that wasn’t indie or what he deemed “cool”
